  1. I pefer the way they are, I just wish they properly scaled them and not have them get screwed over by shock aura.
  2. Yes I've played other competitive game, to be honest I've seen tamer. I won't argue that Gw2 is thaaat toxic but there time where you just want to stop playing it ether A someone has a mid-life crisis over a game or B ripps you for the decision you make when tactically it wouldn't make sense. Toxicity come in many degrees and strides, gw2 is no exception. I played it enough competitively to understand the functionality and the roles in that game mode, PvP depending if you're talking for conquest(5v5) to 2v2 or 3v3 I've played all. There's much to yearn on the improvement on that Game-mode, similarly to WvW to an extend. By all means, if you are having fun don't let my comment sway you. it is simply a personal opinion that I have about Spvp one I concluded after playing almost 2000 games with Ranger.
  3. Look I like my lightning fields. Leave it alone.
  4. So to answer your question. Although the gazelle has more tanky stats, strong CC and good damage. (Soul-beast it is event better) The reason why people use Electric Wyvern or Fire Wyvern are for specific reasons. I personally find the Electric one to be very useful due the application being slightly more tanky than the Sky-chak whilst having a Lightning field. THis is crucial if you plan on leaping through it to get a daze onto a player, if you're running "Moment of Clarity" you increase the daze duration from 1s to 1.5 and interrupting them gives you a 25% damage increase. Ontop of that, if you are utilizing any "CC traits" or "CC relics" They will proc frequently. A good combo with Electric Wyvern is Sword; it has 2 leap finishers and running remorseless + Two weapon fight/Midnight relic... you essentially have a 100% crit if you land those abilities (precise strike gives opening strike 100% crit while having 25% damage increase). As for fire, FIre field, has an evade on f2 and applies burning which I'm not fully aware its potency in a condi build but I have seen people run it occasionally in WvW on untamed in some point in time. Someone whom more familiar with condi play style can explain it better than me.
  5. I'd Argue that Earthshaker and Stomp could make Earth fields from warrior. I'd honestly introduce Wind Field or Air field Blasting it with provide SuperSpeed to everyone OR Provides Quickness to everyone around you Leaping through it would provide a Knockdown effect, Similar to how leaping through a lightning Field causes a Daze (because the Wind Blew you hard enough it knocks you down to the ground) or possibly create a Wind Aura that leaves a Trail of Tailwind , people who run through the tailwind gain increasing the effect of Swiftness by 33% (does not stack with Speed relic) while enemies who try to run through it gain Cripple & Slow Condition (we call this Headwind). Getting hit by the Aura applie the conditions previously stated, and While under the effects of the Aura you can get that increase speed despite not being in the tailwind. 2nd idea is related to Physics and aerodynamics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headwind_and_tailwind
  6. I agree alot to some extent. But I don't think every field should have an aura effect. Like shadow aura or water aura would remove pre-exisiting support elements to those fields, namely being able to AOE heal on a blast or AOE stealth on the blast. Maybe Water Aura to the addition of the heal would be nice interesting buff, but I would keep Smoke field blast to an AOE invis. If anything, I feel like introducing new field such as AIR and EARTH into the game and give it to some of the classes that lack a diversity of auras. Some example classes are Warrior Necromancer Revenant Thieves Mesmers and those that would make sense on those classes
  7. there's a small Loophole with death swapping your pet, if you mount up OOC and dismount you will instantly reset the CD. Just an nice thing to have in WvW.
  8. Just for clarity, For Pve... right? Since you mention snowcrow. Usually You can replaces current Metabattle or even snowcrow build with another weapon, it would just be slightly less Damage output. To behonest with you, When your just doing normal content it wouldn't matter and I would even go as far as even some CM since its pretty trivial. The only time I think people will bat an eye on your build is some harder CM in the game.
  9. I like the combo field system gw2 wish some aspect would be reworked and expanded on. What are your thoughts on it.
  10. Hammer and Maces are both damage and utility based weapons. However, The way they distribute their utility and damage is completely different. Maces: Most of it high damage is through multi-hit and the weapon have the ability to provide Protection, Regen and healing to your allies. Mh weapon is for support, Both MH & Off weapon synergies well with Skirmisher because of Hunter's Tactics | Opening Strike isn't really synergistic unless we have a good hard hitting off a hand or swapping to another weapon with a single big hit Hunter Tactic just gives you 10% damage and crit in WvW or Spvp, its surprisingly strong with MH mace as it allows off hand mace to unga bunga multi hit damage. With that it mind you also can get access to quick-draw which is actually super useful if you don't succeed in getting a full stack of Nature's growth. It has a Growth mechanics that increases healing and damage which hammer does not have. Hammer: Most of its high damage are through single Big hits, and it has little utility and boon application depending on which weapon ability you pick. It has a big single hit making Opening Strike valuable trait for it, with Relic of the Midnight King you can make 3 and 5 a cc skill and go 5 into 2 which if you are running Remorseless this instantly give you Opening Strike which is always 100% crit thanks to Precise Strike you can essentially hit really hard. Its purely Offensive weapon with Defensive capabilities through its offensive abilities. Everything you do with hammer is has to do with (get a hit and get x) The only thing that gives you boons or utility without hitting someone is non-leashed hammer 4 for protection. Hammer and Maces are completely unique weapons in their own rights, I just think you haven't considered fully analyzing or trying out different combination
  11. unironically, with rune of the grove you can push 100% protection duration with some concentration, With the ladder listing the Spec, traits and utilities you can indefinitely have protection up period without even trying. On release Soulbeast was "low-key" a sustain-healing menace with infinite regen and protection (rugged growth) and being able to apply weakness 100%, you could essentially brute force a 1v1 or 1v3 due to innate tankiness and sustain. It was nerfed multiple times since then, and had some undocumented nerfs that weren't listed.
  12. I should show you how to make Turtle hit people for 10k one day. I think you'd get a laugh out of it. https://i.imgur.com/buwkRec.jpeg
  13. Chak is generally good for couple of things in WvW which Ill get into detail alter. Shark is very good with untamed as you can reposition its engage. There used to be a trick where taunt would go off first before the knock up but I think it got bugged out so that isnt really viable anymore. Chak is pretty good if you are planning for 2 things, having a range pet to harass and comboing leaps with lightning field for the nice Dazes. Its like wyvern but squishier and has range capabilities. More suitable for duels tbh or PvP, have a defense pet ready if they decide to focus dpsing your pet down.
  14. Alot of the community is like that unfortunately. But , to be honest that doesn't mean a ranger can still use a bow. People don't realize that many tropes/archetype/ideas are borrowed or inspired from other sources. Not only that but who says the idea can even be expanded on depending on the world setting. Like maybe rangers will eventually get access to focus and sceptres? or perhap a pistol or rifle down the line? there have been cases were people were frustrated that we got maces for a weapon choice. At the end of the day, player base doesn't dictate what a ranger truly is in this game, it comes down to the devs on how they want to portray it 🙂 and it elite specs.
  15. Carnivore a huge upgrade in Damage for anyone who uses, Maces, Hammer, Great-sword ,Horn and any CC related specs like druid. When you can CC spam you're tacking on life siphon damage which is true damage. It is not effected my armor reductions at all. Theoretically, Longbow and Shortbow benefit from the Damage from carnivore slightly. Survival instinct is a damage reduction and damage increase by 5% and 10% depend on whether your health is high or low. Unfortunately Yes, Its frustrating that they took Stability away from trait which made it versatile. However, Anet believes with the introduction to maces it would be too much stability for the class. Coming to Longbow, longbow is still pretty powerful in WvW, but if you solely rely on the weapon you make it way to easy for classes liek thieves or guardian to jump all over you and burst you down. Maces, Great-sword and even Sword and horn are surprisingly both a defensive and offensive weapon, Whether they have stab, Blocks or mobility these help deal with all the jumpy and mobility based classes. I find killing thieves very interesting, since I usually play a CC spam druid,. its generally enough to keep them away. CC spam generally shreds low CC classes like warrior single stab on mobility. Real thing is, when you come across hard matchup in the game, it generally comes down to how you stat and gear your class and what traits you take. Believe me. I still 100% crit with only 15% crit, the power of opening strike builds are pretty strong.
  16. Wvw roaming, you mostly want a weapon that can give good mobility on a short cool-down. Here are some options: Sword Staff Greatsword Soul-beast gives added mobility you needed but can opt for druid or untamed if you can smoke-scale stealth reliably. Having stealth is pretty key in ranger survivability more than ever, unlike other classes you don't really have that much reliable Stab generation with the exception of Dolyak stance, Strength of the packs, glyph of the stars, forest fortification, and traits listed in untamed which generate Stab on CC. With Maces, Considering they're mostly a multi strike weapon (2 and 5) they benefit more from skirmisher than Marksman. The only reason to take Marksman is to increase the duration of Stun & dazes and taking advantage of the damage increase from CC and Movement impaired targets. If you take both you sacrifice a lot of defensive capabilities for intense power output. Take quickdraw greatly improves burst potential & Mobility if needed. If you have enough mobility, Consider Vicious quarry, this pushes fury to 30% crit and cc someone with skirmisher naturally gives additional 10%. Realistically you can push your crit to maximum of 60% with CC and fury in mind would push you to 100%. These are just idea you can use to theroy craft a build with dual maces. My experiences are if u go with Skirmisher and Marksman, I recommend Soul-beast for the added mobility so your ins and out can be very strong. Greatsword or sword & warhorn is a perfect option for both defensive and offensive capabilities when you need to stall for Cool downs. With Quick draw you can double up on evades with sword or Blocks with greatsword. Pvp in mind, you can really take anything tbh.... just comes down to are you doing a bunker opening strike build? Or you wanna go ham and 100 to 0 with maces. Ice relic even after the nerfs can really make the build go bonkers with One Wolf Pack. But I usually avoid Spvp due to toxicity between both sides of the team. Again, these are just my input to my experiences and what I would recommend but don't take this as swift army knife or the perfect answer to everything. People find other ways to make Mace/Mace work, and sometimes you can even split those twin weapons into different sets.
  17. thats.... Armistice Bastion its a WvW hub if you have the Pass. If you are aware of teamchat has the bracks [BBL] [EBG] Indicating that its from WvW. Its in a Wvw setting, with WvW stats. Pve your (Non-unleashed) Thump does damage, in WvW the damage is reduced by almost 95%. So yeah I don't know what other proof you want "bro" but anyone that has some form of awareness, can tell you that it is using WvW stats and is in WvW.
  18. It was pretty buggy, Lot of people didn't know about it and I figured people who did find out about it reported. I was about to report it today but a patch went through.
  19. There was unintended bug where you can hit people from beyond 600 range and almost map wide.
  20. They need to add relics that spawn combo fields. Like when you use a healing skill x does something an additionally pops out a water field, fire field, dark field, light field, etheral field, ectect
  21. Disregard the post, I didn't have my morning coffee.
  22. Yep thats pretty much a similar build I have going, if you're looking for more movement speed, I honestly reccomend Cavalier runes, they give movement speed at the 6th rune similarly to travelers runes.
  23. I'll link a discord for you, been slowly making a Ranger's community Discord for people to get together with like mind idea to theory-craft and eventually train newer players in how to play ranger. My build will be posted there shortly, maybe some time in the next few days, its rather fun its decent as a roamer but it excels well in Spvp. But for short, it uses druid along side with Hammer and x/warhorn. X being it can be any mainhand weapon but I pefer the longsword as it has 2 leap finishers. Pair it up with an electric wyvern or shock chak, you kinda just become a daze machine. Life siphon from Carnivore is considered true damage, true damage being damage that ignores toughness which the irony, its the only way to deal with high toughness fighters in some sense. CC applies roughly around 500-700 dmg depending on the amount of power you put in. Currently sitting at 600 but it essentially add pseudo-damage to your CC skills. This is essentially amazing on weapons like MH mace, Warhorn or Hammer. Ontop of that you can additional sigils that do that, like draining is a popular one too. It's also an remoreless opening strike build so if you find a good way to generate fury reliability, you hardly need any precision in the stating phases when you come to theory-craft the build. So your armor of options are Crusader/Valkyire/Cavalier and can toss in draogn for the extra oomph in ferocity. As long as the build has Power and ferocity as the main stat you can essentially take hits and dish hits out. Weakness to the build is just alot of Stab/blocks can counter it, and intense mobility, so if people try to kite you, you sorta have to rely on a range based pet. Pets also get opening strike, so essentially you can make your turtle therotically hit 10k from heavy shot. Chance of that happen thou is ether max stack of might and other modifiers or you run core ranger NM or WS /SKRM/MKMAN/, you can also bomb really hard with storm spirit this way too, probably hits beyond 20k in theory. Sigils I recommend is any of the interrupts, I personally like severance and Draining. Absorb is another decent one, but stab sucks and makes it sorta kinda useless so the other alternative is nullification but you have to get into a flanking position so imagine cone of 45 degrees looking at you, as long as you hit outside of that cone around a circle, you'll essentially activate the sigil.
  24. Fair enough, It more less a curiosity that peaked my interest. Some EU players occasionally transfer to NA and just fight people in Spvp and WvW so thats as much info I got from them about EU. My apologies if If the question wasn't direct or concise, despite having an okayish vocabulary, unironically english is not my primary language. More n Less asides from LB Soulbeast Rangers, how often do you see a ranger roaming around by itself or in a small group of people opposed to a competitive group? In NA most range roamers I come across fashion ether Staff and Sword/Warhorn or Soulbeast with 2 sets of condition based weapons, but they're kinda surprisingly rare compared to Harbenginers, Willbenders, warriors and engineers ... atleast for WvW. If you ever do one day come over to NA, we should duels some time. I'd be interested to see in person how far that build can with a skillful person in mind.
  25. Actually believe it or not, statically from information gathered. EU pop plays more Rangers then NA, though this is coming from people who Spvp and WvW down to the core (as in super competitive). You can take this information as it is, but when taking this info you'd think people have ways to properly deal with rangers in EU @Zyreva.1078, I'm more asking for based on experience on what's EU server like, not trying to come off rude with the comment but rather more interested if that information is accurate. NA ranger population community isn't relativity huge in NA side but again this is what I was told personally from multiple people. People can correct me if I am wrong with this info.
