  1. Fishing Party Catches buff should carry over to the same map but different instance, especially if the map is closing
  2. Mizuki from the New Kaineng Blackout meta gets stuck at times when defending the breaker box. This has happened numerous times already. Can you please take a look at this? It’s bad enough that the meta takes around 30 mins to complete, so this bug occurring in the middle of the meta wastes plenty of time
  3. If you're playing on EU servers, you can join me as I command a squad to do DE everyday starting at 10PM UTC. I give instructions on what to do, the mechanics, and others. The only thing I ask is that you pay attention and do events; no AFKs allowed. So far, we have never failed DE since I started commanding.
  4. As the title. I think it would help a lot, especially for a large squad led by a commander in PvE, to add the ability to queue to the map that the commander is in. Right now, we only have "Join in <map name>", but when the map is full or bottlenecks, You have to click on the "Ok" button of the dialog box, and do it again and again until you actually get into the map. I think that adding a queue option, such as "Enqueue in map", would really greatly help. I sometimes lead an entire 50-man squad and some people have to click hundreds of times just to get in the same map instance as I am in. Just a thought
  5. Because of lack of currency on certain strikes, LI is the "go to" currency for killproof. That's why some commanders in EU ask for boneskinner KP instead. Another thing is that you can register your account in killproof.me and just give the link to the commander as well. For Harvest Temple, I've been saying it before, but I think that the Void chest you get at the end may be the killproof people may need; especially since CMs are coming soon for EoD strikes. But let's see.
  6. Add an "enqueue" option to queue up in a PvE map if the map that you wish to jump to is full, and show how far off you are in the queue. Currently, if a 50-man squad is split up from the commander, you have to keep on spamming "Join in <map name>", hopeful that you will get in. An enqueue option (like the one in WvW) would go a long way IMO.
  7. You know that fractals come in tiers, right? 1-25 are novices and you can play however you want, without AR. Tier 2 is a bit higher but still doable without AR. You just have to focus a bit. Also, I do not understand how you came to the conclusion that AR forces you to play only for certain characters. What? Where did that come from?
  8. That's actually a funny joke from EoD. And if you disagree, then... COME SAY THAT TO MY FACE.
  9. Make your own group in LFG then? If you even want, you can even say "no requirements and no skills required, come with blue or green gear if you like and press random things on the keyboard".
  10. Is this what you're looking for? Server reset - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W)
  11. I watched this video, and I think what WP was referring to was the pre-nerf "no greens" tactic, where one person and one person only was supposed to do greens, and if there was another person who did do greens and doesn't complete the wisp phase, then that's a solid 2 minutes down the drain.
  12. I can already see raid sellers seeing the opportunity to drain people's in game gold by selling the strike mission to those who don't want to do it.
  13. Okay, so you pointed out elitism. We will come back to this. Wrong! It was only you who claimed that the topic of the actual thread is about an Open World Meta which was badly designed for the intended audience. The topic, which is the very first post by the author, is this: THIS is the topic: The author pleading with Anet to not nerf the fight and that auto attacks aren't enough, people have to pay attention to what's happening, and if they do nerf the fight, only add an extra minute to the timer on the boss fight. When you asked me to "stay within the topic of the actual thread", you were not asking me to actually stay on topic, you wanted to shift the discussion to what you wanted it to be under the guise of "staying on topic". And if you insist that I still went off-topic, then I can also say that you also went off-topic: Your reply on elitism is off-topic because it doesn't agree, disagree, or discuss the OP's plea to Anet. Your reply on Dragon's Stand and Tangled Depths is off-topic because it doesn't agree, disagree, or discuss the OP's plea to Anet. Your reply on the patch notes is off-topic because it doesn't agree, disagree, or discuss the OP's plea to Anet. Your reply on asking me how "elitism" applies to open world content is off-topic because it doesn't agree, disagree, or discuss the OP's plea to Anet. Your reply on alleging that I have no actual argument and how we were not talking about raids is off-topic because it doesn't agree, disagree, or discuss the OP's plea to Anet. Any reply that you make regarding this reply is also off-topic because it doesn't agree, disagree, or discuss the OP's plea to Anet.
  14. So you took out of context what I was saying and you applied it to mean that I was implying open world when I did not. Let me bring up the actual post I made and your comment: This is what I said and your emphasis on what I said in bold and in italics even: I don't think it killed raids at all. I raid every week and as long as you can show KP and do the mechanics in raids it's fine. We all want to succeed but if one person can't do the mechanics then of course the com will kick them out of the raids. And then you comment on that was: It is very clear that I was talking about raids; the first sentence itself says it. "I don't think it killed raids at all". The second sentence even has a qualifier that says "...kick them out of the raids".
  15. Just wanted to clarify that DE is an open world meta event. It is not a raid. Raids are different. Here's the definition of what a raid is, from Anet itself: "Raids are 10-player, instanced, elite dungeon content that's a challenge unlike anything we've previously released in Guild Wars 2. These raids are meant to put you and your teammates to the test and challenge you to grow your skills as Guild Wars 2 players. Raids are our answer to what skilled PvE players have to look forward to at endgame—the ultimate test to overcome and defeat." source: Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns (guildwars2.com) Also, they already released an update to DE a few days. ago: Upcoming Changes to "The Battle For The Jade Sea" - Guild Wars 2 Discussion - Guild Wars 2 Forums The longer duration for exposed (and thus the burn phase) and reduced time for the wisp phase really helps a lot.
  16. I wasn't talking about open world content in this context. I said "if someone joined an experienced raid group, on the role they can play, who showed KP, and they failed the mechanics a certain number of times...". Just from what I said, it is very clear I wasn't talking about open world content, but I was talking about raids. And if THAT wasn't enough, take a look at what I mentioned the options of the commnader had when someone failed a mechanic a certain number of times: "Kick the person who failed the mechanic OR Call off the raid" Take a look at the latter option: "Call off the raid". When did I say that open world content were raids?
  17. You can call it whatever you like. But at the end of the day, if someone joined an experienced raid group, on the role they can play, who showed KP, and they failed the mechanics a certain number of times, then a commander has to make a decision: Kick the person who failed the mechanic OR Call off the raid Most of the time, it's the former because it's easier to kick someone out of the group and look for someone else in LFG.
  18. How is it a strawman? I directly addressed your first sentence: "Frankly, I don't understand why ANet forces timers so much." and gave an explanation for why timers are necessary for events. This is not a strawman. But alright, assume for the moment that I did not understand you and we will go with this new explanation of what timers are. Question: What is "sensible" and who gets to decide what is a sensible time to beat the meta? If you say "the devs", then there is no issue then. If you say "the players", then which player or players and why those particular players? Yes, I do understand how much time and investment that is. But if you're not willing to devote time and effort to learn all these and do all these, then you're not going to get your rewards for those events that require that much time and investment (e.g. legendary armor). I do accept how you enjoy the game. Whatever you do which is fun for you is absolutely fine with me. I am sure it is also fine with Anet. But as you said, if you want to play as well as you can without any further training, then you will get your small rewards and progress. However, the DE meta is not a "small reward". It's BIG reward. I understand that it can not be fun for plenty of people and I know that mechanics can be daunting, but what would you consider "tiny, tiny steps"? What would be the process that you want Anet to do? Do you want a tutorial on which skills are your CC skills? My experience with map chat has been good because people actually explain the mechanics. First time going into the DE map, there was already a com saying in public chat what the mechanics were. Another time, I joined an LFG with Discord, and people were helping because they explained all of the mechanics, put down markers, told people when to attack the tail, put down food, etc. When someone had questions, they answered them. But maybe it's a region thing; I play on EU. Yes, the entire comment is an essential "git gud" but I was trying to sugarcoat it for you. Ok, so, becoming better in the game is not for you and you don't find it enjoyable. That's fine. That just simply means that you cannot get the siege turtle, just like the legendary armor you mentioned. And you will have to be ok with that. Beating the DE meta is only the first step to get a siege turtle. The next event is defeating the Jade Maw in DE. Then, after that, you need to complete a strike mission in Kaineng Overlook, which requires a strike group, who are probably going to be experienced raiders. All of those must be completed before you can get the turtle. And Anet is not going to change the mechanics of the boss: Upcoming Changes to "The Battle For The Jade Sea" - Page 2 - Guild Wars 2 Discussion - Guild Wars 2 Forums. From that post: "As such, the encounter was designed from the start to be challenging, but progressively more doable as players learn mechanics and how to handle phase transitions." So Anet expects you to learn the mechanics. There's no way around it. It's not me forcing you to play like me, it's Anet; if you want the turtle that is. And, to be frank, you redefined "caring" to mean "nerf the DE boss because I do not want to learn mechanics of the game and because I do not enjoy learning.". As Anet said in that post, the mechanics are still there, and they are not nerfing the overall health of the boss. They may reduce the time of the wisp phase, but you still have to do the phase.
  19. Yes but you're saying that when it comes to FPS drops. The reason why I said that is because he said that you cannot see red / green AOEs. If it were the case that you cannot see the red / green AOEs and you have the minimum requirements, then yes. That was what I was referring to, not FPS drops.
  20. Why not try it yourself? They have the info here in the forums: [Raid][EU] Crossroads Inn Raid Training guild/discord server is looking for Commanders - Looking For Guild - Guild Wars 2 Forums. It's free training. All you have to do is sign up and attend it. Because an event without timers until the event succeeds is going to be very problematic. What happens if a map has little to no people and a meta event is running and they are not interested in it? The meta goes on indefinitely until some people actually show up to beat it. It doesn't matter if it's minutes, days, weeks, or months. Meanwhile, all of the areas and other events are locked out because of the ongoing meta event. Again, this lockout of other events can take minutes, days, weeks, or months until someone actually restarts the server or people show up to beat the meta. This isn't a problem Anet can solve. That's why they put out minimum hardware requirements : Minimum System Requirements – Guild Wars 2 Support. If you can't play the game because you don't meet the requirements, then what do you want the devs to do about it? Go back to 1990s DOS-based gaming because you don't have a powerful enough PC? I said "make themselves better and learning from their mistakes and failures." I did not say they did not have intelligence. But let's try it your way. You said that they all have the intelligence to beat any raid CM. Well then, why don't they? Top-Tiered Terror Toppler gives 10 gold and Terror Toppler's treasure, and it resets weekly. Why aren't all people who have the intelligence do that? Think about it, then you will see that there is a huge difference between "having intelligence" and "applying the intelligence that you have". That's why you have communities dedicated to training people who want to learn. Even hardcore statics are also contributing information on how to deal with each encounter. They don't have to, but they do. This is FREE training and FREE information. Off the top of my head you have: Raid Trainers: Raid Training Initiative The Crossroads Inn Raid Statics: Lucky Noobs (https://lucky-noobs.com) SnowCrows (https://snowcrows.com) Fractals Statics: discretize.eu As for information about DPS, boons and healing, you have ArcDps for that, which is a legal addon which provides all the information you wanted. It even ranks your DPS against others within your squad, tells you what skill did the most attack, who gave quickness or alacrity to your party, etc. Yes, I agree with this: You need to deliberately train yourself if you want to succeed in the harder parts of the game. DE is one of the harder parts of the game (at least right now). You have to consciously think, be aware of your surroundings in game, watch out for the tail, for the tsunamis, and other things that do damage to you. That's what training is for. How is it Anet's fault? Isn't it Anet who gives you an introduction to dodging very early in the core game and in Seitung Province? Isn't it Anet who shows what Crowd Control skills are in Seitung Province as well? Isn't it Anet who teaches you about combo fields, again, in Seitung Province? Isn't it Anet who gives information about your traits when you hover over them? This is not being elitist: this is showing the basics of the mechanics of the game. BASICS. Yes, all of that is available in map chat. We tell you what the mechanics are of the event. We tell you what to do so the event can succeed. We tell you what "greens" are. We tell you when is the right time to go and hit the tail. We tell you to watch out for the tsunamis. We pretty much do care.
  21. Yes, I know, it's Fashion Wars 2. Skins are the real end-game content.
  22. I agree with your two complaints, especially number one. Something has to happen when the regions have already reached "high". For the second one, didn't they already fix this in an earlier patch so you can't really troll the greens anymore?
  23. That's true, I have been doing raids for a long time. I already have all 3 legendary armor sets from raids and I still raid weekly. Why? because it's fun for me. Regarding the training groups, at least in my case when I was starting out (The Crossroads Inn trained me), they only require that you have proper gear with the correct stats, They understand you're new, so they train you with the mechanics of raid bosses. Raids were never meant to be beginner friendly. With that said, back to Dragon's End meta. I don't agree with trying to gate-keep a public map. No commander on a public map can ever kick someone out (and if I were inexperienced and they wanted to pay me to get out, I would really take advantage of that, but I digress). However, beginner players who don't know the basic mechanics and signs (red aoe = avoid or dodge/evade, green aoe = go there, etc) are not contributing as well. It's much better to learn first the mechanics which are taught by the way in Seitung Province, in the training grounds, practice it, master it, and then try the meta. Again, this is not about gear, but about doing mechanics. What I do not want Anet to do is nerf the meta so that the meta succeeds just by using auto-attack chains, a little bit of moving to the left or right, and then that's it. That's not proper end-game content (at least for me). Another thing (and this is my own opinion and very subjective) is that nerfing a meta is kind of insulting as well; it's like saying that people aren't capable of having the brains to make themselves better and learning from their mistakes and failures. I don't believe that and I certainly do not think that that is reflective of the GW2 players.
  24. I don't think it killed raids at all. I raid every week and as long as you can show KP and do the mechanics in raids it's fine. We all want to succeed but if one person can't do the mechanics then of course the com will kick them out of the raids.
  25. I didn't realise it was that bad that people were paying others to leave.
