  1. This tbh. Just unbug both strikes, which'll probably make whisper "easier" (though it's really just avoiding a random oneshot potential), and boneskinner harder :D
  2. So, mote stands for things that reward you once per account, and modes for things that reward you daily I guess. Joking aside, there's a difference between content that reward you everyday and that adds a ton of mechanics (99/100 CM), content that reward you once and add few mechanics (Raids/FS CM), and content that reward you once but barely changes anything (Other fractals "CM"). Obviously OP was asking for the former type of content and not the latter, and that's worth developping time. However it's true that this thread seems way too earlier, wait till' Tuesday.
  3. There is no built-in dps meter. Players use third-party software called arcdps. And while I in no way condone players sniping at each other over dps, I haven't personally found this to be in issue in T4 fractals as long as I avoid runs that specifically ask for experienced players. 2k-5k is enough anyone saying otherwise is toxic( not uncommon thinking) just play the build you like dont need to listen to anyone forcing you to play something you dont want to Yes, if you want to spend 20 hours doing a raid fullclear and three hours doing CMs + T4s + Recs in fractals. And probably one or two hours for strikes. Have fun. Do whatever you want, aslong as you stay out of groups that are asking for experience or efforts, thank you. If you join such groups, yes, you do need to listen, and you are the one being toxic by imposing your game standards to the group. Toxicity aside, coordinating the right strategy is important and that strategy changes based in large part upon the DPS output of the group. I had a group the other day where we wiped a few times on Subject 6 on T4 because there was confusion about which strategy we were using (And some of it was me! Sorry, guys!). Once we were on the same page, however, it was no problem. Subject 6 is a good example of a fight where dps matters and your strategy changes depending upon that. I imagine this would be a very difficult (maybe even impossible?) fight if your damage dealers only bring 2-5k dps to the fight. Still, that doesn't mean there isn't room to go off the beaten path with your build. On that T4 Subject 6 kill my group were basically using a meta comp: healbrand, alacren, banner zerker, with power holo as the other dps. But I like to play the way I like to play as long as it isn't causing problems for the group, so I just ran my open world build which is sword/focus fire/arcane weaver with dire stats. We burned the boss in 15 seconds, killing it well before any oozes could come near. Damage breakdown was holo 37.8k, me at 32.5k, banner zerker at 28.1k. For reference, even the healer did 4.3k. As I said, the bigger problem was me botching up the strategy! So, I think I have to agree with Antioche.7034 here, but I also think it's possible to play the way you want to play. You just need to be courteous of others. That means not just being polite in word, but also considering the reasonable expectations of others. If you can only manage 5k dps in a fractal, you really shouldn't be joining pickup groups for T4 fractals as dps. It's inconsiderate.I completly agree with your more developed post. You can absolutely play your own DPS build aslong as you are not joining very high-end groups (AKA 300+Kp fractal groups, 100+Kp raid groups etc) where people want specifically top DPS etc or specific classes, or doing incredibly suboptimal DPS/performance. What most people mean by 'I wish to play my own build' is 'I don't want to make efforts but still beat the content easely'. If your own builds performs really decently (Idk, 80% of the meta ones or something), you'll have absolutely no troubles in most groups and almost nobody will flame you. If it does 10-30% of the meta DPS build, that's not okay at all, and you should join groups composed of other people playing this kind of build. Basically, the only important thing in LFG is to joins group you do meet the requirements for. All the same, if you are one of the top players and head into a random group, you should be expecting people to not be up to your standards, and thus you should be fine with their level.
  4. You, like most people in this thread, seem to miss the point of the OP, which is, in my opinion, that removing Soulbeasts's toughness and giving them the equivalent damage reduction would improve the quality of life in raids. It would avoid the /gg due to forgetting that we have a soulbeast, it would avoid miscommunications about that, and it would allow tanks to play however they want when they wish to tryhard, all that without any actual nerf to soulbeast. Where would be the harm ? I fail to understand why some people believe having two knight's trinkets instead of berserker brings "diversity" or some other equivalent of this overused word. By the way, I mean no offense, I like the wording of your post.

  6. Pretty certain you can still achieve 80% bench on most things with that ping. However in some actual fights it might be difficult due to being impacted by mechanics etc. I play with 70-150 ms (~100 average with spikes let's say), and I'd say 80% should be doable with 300. Better if you can fix it ofc. I feel like 80% is within the upper limit (you could probably push up to 90% with ‘ping-friendly’ specs but then again, we don’t know what they are). It’s doable, but when people are claiming that 80% is what should be achieved, it becomes a bit disingenuous, no? Perhaps a better question to ask is: if I know that I suffer from this problem (geographical location is not something I can easily fix), is it acceptable for me to aim for a lower standard? I’m guess fortunate that I’m able to reach 80% myself, but that ‘80%’ for someone else with a similar problem could possibly look like 65-70%, which otherwise I feel many people here would consider ‘not enough’.With >20 FPS and <200 ms ping, I think you should be able to achieve 80% on pretty much all the specs. Of course if you are playing with 5-10 FPS or >500 ms you'll have troubles, but at that point you'll pretty much be weighting your group down regardless of DPS, not to mention how tilting it must be to play in such conditions. All of this is kinda out-of-thread aswell I suppose.

  8. This. Deadeye is possibly the worst PvP design I've heard of in any game. Yup, exactly.
  9. He plays a warrior actually lmao I'm sure that doesn't change your mind at all though. Imagine defending a mechanic where you don't really die after you die ;) Also since February, specializing into glass cannon has had the worst return on investment of all time in GW2. No idea what you're complaining about. Imagine wanting downstate to be permanant, so that people are encouraged to play annoying and stupid glass-cannon builds or annoying and stupid bunker builds. Even if it's easy to counter or avoid it would still be incredibly stupid and boring. Maybe in WvW it has had the worst return on investment, and if that is the case, I see nothing wrong with it, aslong as it does not devolve into bunker meta. In sPvP though going full zerk has certainly had return on investment (See nades holo or reaper, Prev etc). 4/6 meta builds are Minstrel. It is too late to save the game from devolving into that, because when players go down their 3.5k armor buddies can pick them up and heal them to 100%, maybe even give full barrier and stealth. You say you dislike both high damage high risk builds and bunker builds, but you're clearly OK with letting one of those two run rampant. This is the WVW forums, save PVP problems for PVP. Did you figure maybe everyone is going full zerk because there's a lot less amulets to try these days? And because Marauder damage is garbage ever since February? We have to deal with this stat called TOUGHNESS in WVW. And these runes called DURABILITY. They're pretty annoying. So, basically you dislike bunkers, so you wish for no downstate, even though no downstate will lead to even more bunker builds ? Maybe for a week of no downstate most people don't bother to adapt, and you can surely farm all the people that are here to farm GoB because they jate WvW, but if you make no downstate permanant, what kind of builds do you think people will play ? Surely not stuff that can get oneshot by full zerker.Making no downstate permanant will only further the issue, IMO. Also I'm fine with high risks high rewards, aslong as it's really high risks high rewards and not low risks high rewards like that's often the case. The current meta is necros using ANY DPS stat they want, with every other class running Minstrel to support them. Are you saying we'll have Minstrel necros too? Do you see why you're wrong LMAO. Go play a full zerk build and post those results I'd love to see it. Because BTW, being one shot goes BOTH ways for those builds, they get one shot as well. Hopefully you dont find any Dragonhunters or Sic Em beasts ::disappointed: Yeah, every roamer is running minstrels atm, I trust you.And what do you want me to prove by playing full zerk ? That it's fun ? That it dies aswell ? Of course it dies (Except probably some thieves builds that can escape pretty well after having miserably failed), I never said the opposite anywhere, I don't know why you'd think I did.

  11. What you should aim for if you do not plan on tryharding the content is 80% of benchmark DPS (Bench from Snowcrows), and decent application of the rotation on the actual encounter. If you want to make "Good" DPS, around 90% benchmark is the minimum. Getting 80% of the benchmark DPS isn't hard at all, it's incredibly easy with MAXIMUM a few hours of training at the golem, don't be impressed. You'll make it easely if you put a modicum of effort into it !
  12. I bet you couldn't even explain how and why this was even possible. Not to mention it's not any more. Yes, I might come off elitist. I've been at this content and on these forums for as long as raids have been out. The sutpidity of players is neverending and unfortunately also repeating. This entire thread, every little thing said here, even your suggestions, has been had multiple times by now. Most of us are just tired of investing time into know it all forum warriors at this point. Once again you have offered no solutions and just throw insults and elitism into the thread, please stop quoting me if you have nothing constructive to put into the thread. And I can explain everything about that video and more if i so desired what have you put into this thread apart from insults and assumptions ? I have given solutions, in threads where players want to know how to get into raiding. I have explained WHY this system does not work. You want solutions to get into raiding:join a training discordjoin a raid training guildtry to have 1-2 easy raid builds ready to go Done. Stop telling people to join training guilds and discords. They are the reason raidings population is so small. They make raiding into a job and not fun. They've had a more negative impact on the raiding community than anything Anet has done. There's absolutely nothing that can save you if you are this far into desillusion, sadly. Imagine spitting on people who are taking their time to help others get into raiding. If you have seriously joined any training communities, and tried investing yourself seriously, I'm impressed you can even say that.
  13. That would be nonsense, to be blunt. Can aswell remove stealth altogether at this point.

Also I don't think we should look at the balance of stuff with arguments like "This dude plays warrior so no oneshot problem". And I'm sure there are some people running full zerk axe warrior builds that can OS and get OS too.
  15. Thief isn't OP. The gameplay is just plain stupid in WvW though.
  16. this is just wrong. I see ranger and thieves ALL THE TIME. It's only during no-downstate-week, that you realize how much you suck, because you can't rally off of some random scrub. I love the no downstate. Maybe people start playing with more caution and brain instead of going full zerk when they have no skill. Imagine believing randomly getting oneshot by someone from stealth is being bad at the game. If that's what you call "Playing with more brain", no thanks. Peh - leaaaase... WHO exactly is ONESHOTTING you from stealth?!Whait what do you say? There are thieves in WvW? Must be new...MAYBE dont play full glass-cannon and use some of those other gazllion attribute combinations the game offers. Like Soldiers maybe...It's EXACTLY people like you that run around with their META kitten build and in full zerk gear and then complain when they get outplayed by everybody and who rely on rally to be able to play. Adapt to the situation and get better at the game instead of being a sheep and complaining about change. FACT: downed state is something that favors bad players more.Imagine saying there are no thieves in no downstate week, to start with. Put more thoughts into your answers if you want to sounds credible. I don't play full zerk, I play some equivalent of sage/menderbrand from sPvP lately, or DH sometimes. I also rarely get oneshot because I'm reactive enough to press my stunbreaks, dodges or aegis, and because most people playing those builds are terrible players. It's still incredible boring and stupid that they try to oneshot, fail miserably, stealth and port away, just to retry oneshotting you 15 seconds later. That's what I call retarded gameplay. Btw, I have all of sPvP's top 250 titles if you're worried I don't know how to play and get outplayed by everybody. Not that it's impressive at all, but I don't usually run into much troubles in WvWs 1v1 or reasonnable 1vXs. P.S : What an incredible surprise that you mention below you are playing some full zerk Deadeye builds. Read irony ofc.

  18. It's absolutely good for sPvP. Being able to deal with downstate requires some modicum of skill, stop trying to make this game easier.2v2 and 3v3 are meme mini-seasons for PvP, they are not balanced and won't ever be.Imagine wishing to remove a mechanic that gave birth to some of the best plays of MotA, because preventing rezzes is actually /skilled/.
  19. The secret is they don't like fighting. They only like winning. And no downstate week allows winning with the most kitten one shot builds by sniping into zerg tails. This week is gankers dream. No downstate week should only be permanent if you mean to kill WvW as thoroughly as they already killed the PvP ESports dream. There are a TON of people in wvw this week, hate to break it too you bud. That's far more due to the 100% Wxp buff than the event. Most non roamer WvW players I have talked to are already bored of the event, simply because it removes a ton of strategy and depth of combat. Some people care about good and fun fights with back and forth, and not just the wxp pop when something dies after the one push. As far as actual engagements, it mostly benefits the roaming cloud getting some free kills, smaller organized groups getting some kills before dying to a far larger blob (though it is nice when you wipe the blob with half the numbers, hardly an accomplishment though with the disparity in players skill, which was present before), people grouping up even more or otherwise just hiding behind T3 objectives with tons of ACs. Big fun, yes... If you want to balance the game mode around the roamers and upper echelon of the player base, that's exactly who you are going to be left with: some roamers and a few "good" players in a dead game mode.Exactly this, people are here because of WvW booster, because almost everybody hates farming GoB for legendaries, so they can use this week to spend less time in WvW.
  20. Only 4 of us would have the title the first way though, and realisticly only 2 still even log in. I would rather get a different title for the million kills, but even then people would only cry and say "too grindy" "you just spam necro" "you got those kills spamming 1 on guard" Speaking of prestige, not even god of pvp is prestigious, sorry god of wintrading or god of credit card. Also best of the best is more like best of the sellers since the first monthly. The only prestige the titles have are given by yourself, if you know you've gotten it legitimately like me and others and deserved it, then it has a meaning. To be honest God of PvP is prestigious, even if /some/ players have wintraded. Usually the wintraders are kinda known. Best of the best is way less prestigious indeed, but it's still miles ahead of something like God of WvW or God of Fractals. Even if you legit get God of WvW or God of Fractals it won't be really prestigious because of the requirements for it. GvG matches being ranked and getting titles for top-positions would really be more prestigious, and it's kinda sad to see that WvW doesn't have the equivalent of sPvP in that regard, and instead Anet feeds the gamemode with stuff like God of WvW.Don't misunderstand, I guess it's better than nothing, but it's still sad/not great/whatever you wish to call it.
  21. This tbh. I can count on the fingers of one hand the times I've /actually/ been chained CC'ed to death this season, with ~150-200 games played. And half the times it was spellbreakers in 1v1, so just me failing.
  22. 2v2 just needs to die and never be seen again, or to be definately considered for what it is, which is a meme. It's virtually impossible to balance a 2v2 deathmatch, some classes and builds will always greatly overperform. The best balance possible would be that all builds have counters which would lead to reroll fiesta before the start of the match. Ultimately the gamemode is inherently unbalanced. I don't want Anet to lose their time balancing semi-season deathmatches, when there is so much to work on in the game. Let them focus on balancing conquest which is way more interesting than 2v2.
  23. The moment they even attempt to balance for 2v2, pvp in this game effin dies. It's the same as with WvW: game is balanced for conquest. Small scale fights with roamer/bruiser/bunker builds, holding points is best done by slow specs/builds which cannot rotate well. Also things aren't just balanced around conquest, the combat system and conquest were designed for each other. Any gamemode that tries to focus on just parts of conquest(which honestly has everything from 1v1 to roaming to teamfights), there will be classes overperforming. If you nerf them, you're basicly killing their nieche. This tbh. 2v2 is just a bonus meme for the duration of season break.
