Been a while since a patch dropped that merits a bit of theory crafting. However, I'm always a skeptic because things in the past that might seem interesting were about as effective as a plastic bat hitting a brick wall.

[Video] Skyscale Ascending Auric Basin Tower
Cobrakon.3108 replied to Cobrakon.3108's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I checked it out, if you can get past the walls you have access to the rest of the map. You have to get up pretty high though. -
what weapon would you wish for the thief next ?

daggers: These fishsticks we have now don't work that well. -

Griffon is useless after getting Skyscale
Cobrakon.3108 replied to Skyronight.6370's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Depending on what type of player you are, yes, you can totally skip using griffon all the time. However, if you're the type that likes to be as efficient as possible then you will undoubtedly be switching to griffon on numerous occasions. -

Who built this mysterious tower and what was its purpose? Check out more videos on my channel to see more Skyscale climbing and acrobatic feats. -
Every class can duel every other class, or I don't care.

I really like the concept overall and it would be among my top favorites, but the problem for me is the lack of symmetry. To have the mist lopsided, it makes it a deal breaker for me.

If you doubt its ability to maneuver through maps and various terrain, check this out:

Why do i face someone at 1750+ rating when i am gold
Cobrakon.3108 replied to TalleFjanten.7159's topic in Player vs. Player
Over the Years they watered down the PvP to where your individual skill matters less than your build. And on top of that build diversity has taken major hits over the years. It's currently designed to be generic intentionally because its hard to balance when your running a skeleton crew for pvp and most of your programmers are developing phone games. -
Every new mount makes the raptor even more useless.
Cobrakon.3108 replied to Aodlop.1907's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Raptor is still really good in places you can't ramp up a lot of speed on the roller beetle. If anything, Jackal needs some tuning. It is such a cool looking mount, but its advantages are few and far between. I find myself staying on the raptor mount a lot more where as I tend to only use jackal for a few seconds (mostly for the ports) then switch to something else. -
New Pass Idea: Skyscale Sanctuary Pass
Cobrakon.3108 replied to Cobrakon.3108's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Whatever the solution, as long as it doesn't require an extra click. I think it would be cool to have like a special bag for them so that way it doesn't require extra clicks like the tomes do for the living story areas. -

In order to preserve the Skyscale species, Gorrik and other scientists, researchers, and conservationists have found a perfect spot for the new Skyscales to multiply and grow. It is a floating island above __ (Core Tyria Map). There is an Atrium with incubation and medical equipment to keep the skyscale population healthy. Features: In the atrium, you can play with the hatchlings like you do with the ball/flute in the Sun's RefugeThe outside parts of the island you can play hide and seek and catch with the larger skyscales. you can mount a skyscale even if you don't have one (just like the dragonfall map)all trade vendors, crafting stations and city ports available. Ability to mark one place in Tyria to which you can port to. Fly a skyscale through a specific portal/riftInfinite Flight within a certain radius of the island

Which Thief spec is like traditional MMO Rogue?
Cobrakon.3108 replied to Patkus.9178's topic in Thief
None of them do. The closest thing is power d/d. Back Stab along with most melee spike damage has been nerfed.Power Mesmer weirdly enough reflects more of a rogue than thief does when it comes to ambush attacks out of stealth. Sure d/d will make it all look about right, but nope, it feels more like a rogue that's been defanged. This game is casual and people don't know how stealth works so the stealth assassin element of thief was stripped away. -

Guild Wars 2 should have harder content.
Cobrakon.3108 replied to ChronosCosmos.9450's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
There is a bit of a semantics issue with regards to "hard" content sometimes on the mmo side of the industry. If by hard you mean a lot of grind and patience, no thanks. But if you mean hard as in the commonly used hard of all types of genres then yes please! Simply getting together with 10 people and memorizing dungeon mechanics is not hard and doesn't interest me either. The holy grail of difficulty is to maintain a strong level of difficulty and create a system that doesn't weaken against the evolving gameplay community which makes content easier as time goes on by finding more efficient ways to beat content. The problem is if you raise the skill floor your going to inevitably cut off part of the community from completing the content. If the community can accept. that there will be content that some of us will not be able to do in part or in full, then we can move forward with more interesting content. People might say raids already count as that, but in truth the only thing stopping people from doing the raids is not forming connections with people and not willing to grind and memorize the content. So what does that harder content look like?skilled content could see more focus on: reflexes-(better monsters with tells that require skill and counter strategies)Timing of abilitiesBosses do more damage but have less hp (less time to max damage in one spot and more spike damage)Utilize Dodging mechanics and other active mechanics instead of passive mechanics. These are just a few ideas but I believe are important to make the content both harder and more rewarding. -

Nothing like a good climb during the meta event in Dragon's Stand to take in the sights. The tree is one of the tallest structures in the game, if not the tallest. I have added more climbs onto my channel and will be continuing to do so . Cheers. -
Gizmo Rewards and PvP Player Population

Can Someone show/explain to me what the AT Gizmos are? Sounds Intriguing -
There is sort of a round about way to paying for some of the skyscale making it less hassle. You can essentially pay for all the jp type stuff in the troublesome skyscale collection. You can pay for the treats which make it instant activate that particular collection item. You can also pay for the food in raising skyscales. You can grab the 5 resources per ls4 map at the main volatile vendor in Dragonfall. Correct me if i'm wrong but you could also buy that gemstore item expedition board. I think they give you currency from the ls4 maps but don't qoute me on that. If you've bought multiple characters over the years that's another method to pay and alleviate the grindyness some more as you can use multiple characters to do either the easiest hearts or all the hearts. So you see there are paying for less grind. Also, don't forget taco for the resource node/box farming. It speeds things up quite a bit imo. Also patience is your ally.

There are numerous reasons for invis walls but the two that stand out to me are: To prevent exploitation and unintended game play.To prevent people from seeing the unfinished parts of a zone. Resource utilization is important and certain things were not meant to be seen. You can find sloppy geometry, 2 dimensional trees that you cant tell are two dimensional from far away. Invisible walls help hide all that to give you better world cohesion and polish. With flying mounts they had to make a compromise to keep the game a cohesive experience.
