  1. Alright fair, I seriously can't deny that because I don't know. Since this turned into some linguist debate... I also refer to soooo many thing a he or she because in my language it is sometimes different to English and even if it is not I might make a mistake. All I can say is: Even if they put it in as an afterthought to care about the gender debate I think it is implemented fairly well, since Jormag is deceiving and by being neutral or undefined himsheherit can affect everyone?! I don't know and don't care. I would love to see better written characters but then again, it's a game and I want to push buttons and not watch endless scenes of people talking. Have a good one and I hope you can still enjoy your game time!
  2. There is no way to create something objectively without putting your personal touch on it I guess. But how do you know all people who created to story and everything around it share the view that you perceive through the "thing" they made. There is also no way to really objectively look at something. Everyone is is going to perceive stuff differently. Again, not that much into the storytelling ingame since, to me, dialogs are... boring most of the time, story instances feel like a drag, combat is not really engaging. I haven't even realized until waaaaaay late into ibs that jormag is addressed as a genderless being... Maybe I should pay attention. I really do like they gave us both, a female and male character as leading stars to be annoying... Taimi and Braham obviously. Tldr: I really don't care enough about why they put a them as a pronoun or a female character to be a lead or why Braham is male. I wanna put some moas on fire. If somebody wants to teach me a lesson about politics or a big anti male agenda and why I am a bad person in general they shouldn't add so many other things to do.
  3. Let me start off by saying I am not too much into playing the story content itself even though I really like the overall story the game presents. You raise some interesting points, but have you heard about the phrase art imitates life? I see why you would not like to be confronted with the same problems in a game we are facing irl but warring nations/tribes/villages/species have always been a big trope in any story. Incompetent, misplaced and delusional leaders can make for great stories. And whether they are male or female... Meh. I know you are comparing it to the current Hollywood formula of strong female and weak male, which might seem cheesy but not really more cheesy than strong male, weak female we had for years. Good story needs well fleshed out characters sharing the focus, not one being raised into the focus because all others are super lame. P. S. I feel like you will be in for a treat at the end of EoD story
  4. Being able to farm the currencies by doing IBS strikes and converting the eternal ice shards into the needed materials was a lifesaver for me. Top secret but there is not even a cap and even tho you get less shards after the first clear there have been people grinding out the needed ice shards by running kodans strike on repeat for hours... So maybe that would be a nice and already implemented way to go about it. I have quit many goals for extended periods of time because I didn't feel like doing it anymore, I think it's actually well implemented to give quick access to necessary stuff and lock the more QoL stuff behind lengthy tasks/journeys. And of course those will always be a hit or miss for the different type of players.
  5. Alright, story I must admit, I am no fan either and taimi is annoying. But skipping through the cut scenes and simply not really engaging with the dialog made it bearable. Especially since you only need to play 2 out of the 6 chapters to unlock the collection. The collections are actually just running around and can be done in a few hours by casually following a guide if you want to do it quickly. Time gate on feeding is 3 days now... And it only takes two clicks, I don't feel like it hinders usual gameplay. I understand you don't particularly enjoy running around the map 3 times but it sounds like it causes physical pain or something.... My point still is, if you want the stuff play the content or if you don't want to play the content don't get the stuff. Open minded tho, what would you enjoy more as a second path to acquire the mount?
  6. Alright, serious discussion: Could you explain to me again, what exactly is the problem with the skyscale quest?
  7. Ngl, way to lazy to check but if you want to make this argument legit you also need to reference the amount of accounts on gw2efficency that have all of lw4 unlocked. Because otherwise there could be accounts that "want" the mount but can't unlock it. I really enjoy skyscale and it has replaced 90% of my mount usage, if you want it, put in the effort of either doing the collection or download taco and follow a line for 2h. Whats next? Turtle too hard because you need to farm kale? Would be a shame if it was locked behind some cruel strike mission or something...
  8. Next post for OW legendary armor by tagging world bosses incoming. Heard it here first!
  9. Finish the story mode per character until the endboss is killed
  10. Dark theme + copied text is really hard to read... I did anyways and wish I would have spent that time elsewhere. On topic: Actually giving dungeon vendors one time selectable armors is actually kinda nice. Not really needed but could make some people happy. If it is possible to add it easily, please don't mess with the legacy code just so some people can save 3g on their berserker armor. On all other suggestions it's a big boi no from me. Clovers are some sort of either gold sink or time gate. BTW you could simply swipe your credit card, buy mystic coins and convert to clovers in the mystic forge. The progression you have suggested from dungeons upwards to raids is nonsense. Nothing else to say about that.
  11. Pretty sure it is sold by the dude with war bringer on his back... The one that sells all the legendary stuff?
  12. You are right! Sorry, my uncle works at rito and I told him to not implement this way of getting legendary armor, even tho it was all planned out already in 2011. I'll tell him I don't want to deny it anymore Obviously /s On another note, did you go for the legendary trinkets already? If not those provide a actually nice journey through open world until the armor gets implemented.
  13. Sadly, it looks like some posts got deleted, probably for the best. One detective did a great job on uncovering my mischievous plan of pulling this argumentation into the absurd. People actually taking some of the stuff serious is neither here nor there though _________________________________________________________________________________ Dead serious now and no more joking I got my armor, my accessories, my fun. I also think putting in another option of legendary armor is fine (even though it might screw the market for exotics) As far as I remember the skyscale collection is OW only and does not actually require grouping of any sort, takes some dedication, effort and time. This could be a great starting point on how an OW armor could be implemented. - Make every piece require a collection(s) similar to the path of getting skyscale but without repetition. Head gear needs different stuff than chest and so on....make it a journey across Tyria. - Could include: JP's, Story achievements, Meta Progress, Collections of skins/items, Communing with Hero Points - Shouldn't include: Raids, Strikes, DRM's, Dungeons, Fractals, WvW, PvP Why not dungeons and strikes? Well, strikes already award LI and are used for the readily available armors, Dungeons and DRM's would require grouping and coordination and the same amount of time invested as a raid clear. Yes, we all have been in dungeons that simply took 40 mins because the group died or got lost or simply did not know what to do at the boss (AC p2, CoE pillar boss, Arah either lupi or endboss just to name some) - The recipe should equate to the same material and gold cost as the other armor, be it WvW, PvP or the PvE armor that needs LI. Big plus and I am still 100% in the boat for that in any way: Make it a nice skin. Make the precursor look dope and the legendary even more. I want another animated skinline. Maybe even give it a dragon theme and market it like the Gen3 legendary weapons and make people work for different themed skins. _________________________________________________________________________________ Honest words: Idc whether there is another path to leggy armor or not, In the end we will be back here with complaints about it being too hard, too easy, too long, including some content somebody does not enjoy or whatever, people will never be happy. TL;DR: Did a bamboozle, now being serious
  14. I meant what I wrote. That's why the new legendary armor should be something I am able to tackle and chip away at during my play sessions, without having to align my life around some timers and stuff like a job. Additionally, in response to some other suggestions, I don't think living wolrd stuff should be included in the requirements for the armor, since hiding that behind some pay wall could scare off players. Actually simply focusing on core tyria open world content (ideally < 2 min per task) would be the best way. I think many players feel this way.
  15. Yeah, real nice idea. Especially like the idea of having a prelude achievement to unlock the collection. But some meta events take up to 20 minutes and I, as most people, am only able to play 10 minutes per week (usually streched across five or three play sessions) So it would be nice to be able to unlock it by maybe hitting farming nodes on Guildhall (or ist this considered instanced content?) too. Then farm up tokens by killing world bosses. Also maybe revert the changes to shadow behemoth since it now takes waaaaayyyyy too long to kill and does not line up with my schedule. Thanks!
  16. Since world bosses might be a little too boring and repetitive here are some nice open world activities that might be a source of the tokens or even needed requirements toward the new legendary armor set: - chalice of tears JP completed 6 times (I imagine progressing the new armor like the decade armor set. So first go for helmet, after that is done go for next piece and each piece will bring you back to this activity) - diving goggles around the world. Especially the ones in "not so secret JP" (also needed for each piece) - similar to aurora in which case you need to unlock some weapon skins make the armor require the luminicent armor unlocked per weight class (could also use this as precursor) - Gift of Battle needed per armor piece (just like PvE legendary weapons) Just some interesting ideas for open world content off my head. Additionally please Anet, if you add a new legendary armor set give it an even better skins than the raid ones, would love to see a new animated armor.
  17. Ah yes, the only reason I will join no KP, heart achievement, emboldened runs. Seeing people suffer at greens and getting mad at each other at MO. I will see you suffer as I have and I will enjoy it. But on a serious note... I first felt like they should disable the envoy achievements during the buff weeks because at +10 stacks getting downed by cairn seems rather unlikely. After sleeping it over I actually don't care anymore. If anyone gets their full envoy by just running the buffed wings, fine, take it. That is almost as impressive as farming LI by just doing Escort. Let's see how this turns out. Best thing to happen is raids get popular enough to validate a new wing(because let's be honest all wings are wonderfully designed). Worst thing to happen is ppl get an easier way to obtain their armor and stop asking for it on forums. Best of luck to all of you!
  18. You are correct and I was not clear enough. "Trivialize" most likely wasn't the correct word to use here. So to be clear what I was aiming for is mostly the part for cairn, because I think making it usable infight would maybe break the way this part works. All other parts, except MO, which is gated by the SAK cool down, would not be affected by using it infight. Especially since there is no limit on how many times a day you can kill the boss. Yet I also don't see the need for that change. Your way of putting a note on desktop is quite nice aswell.
  19. While I can see how frustrating it might be to be in your position, making the heart usable in fight would most likely trivialize every single step of the achievement. Just open inventory after every defeat until pull, so you don't forget to use it.
  20. Hey, sometimes it can be hard to find groups for the CM. I guess you did already take several looks at the in game lfg or even started your own. If you are EU, feel free to add me and whisper me once online. I would be happy to help, this CM is usually no problem and timed mai trin would be no issues. 95 timed gets usually auto completed if you run t4 and it is a daily. Anyways, good luck and feel free to hit me up if that is possible.
  21. As seen in numerous threads... Are you running arcdps? If you do, delete the file from bin64 and you should be fine. If you are not, maybe look at the crash reports or link them somewhere.
  22. I only PuG on EU and as everywhere you mostly get good groups with no drama and simple clears, but the bad encounters stay present much longer. Sorry for your experiences. I don't mind if the legendary non-raid armor is simply a grindfest as the weapons are. I was never bothered to do them because of map completion. That is some elitist stuff.
  23. Not gonna lie, I am by no means the best raider, just average. But my personal opinion would be not more than 10% of current raiders are there because of getting legendary armor. The rest most likely stayed after obtaining it. I got back into raiding because of the light armor. Moving crystals coming out of my robe?! Hell yeah! I still enjoy the content for what it is and still try to do my weekly clears. Getting back to your question: Personally I wouldn't mind people getting legendary armor outside of raids. Maybe it would even encourage them to try raids since they can swap stats more freely to get more cohesive/benefitting builds for their group. I would be kinda sad if everyone got the awesome crystal stuff... That is my shiny! Non-raid armor should all have the medium armor raid skin /s
  24. @"Linken.6345" that is my guess too, but I wanted to give them the opportunity to see it is not all hardly locked content "the raiders" wall off like tengu do with their precious dominion. But yeah whatever, none of them is ever going to join, because joining a squad is not how they want to play the game or whatever.I honestly gave up long ago and that is a reason I usually no longer join pugs with no LI
  25. Yes, gw2 has so many dedicated guilds to training, people literraly spend like 2 hours just to teach 1 wing to new ppl and wipe -gg- wipe, it says a lot about the dedication Most customers do not want training or to waste two hours a day/week/month learning the ropes.. Honestly they are there to play a game not to do training and homework. This really reads like "give players rewards without having to do anything for it"Already ~95% of the game offers already exactly that. Raids are fundamentally mea t to be the content you need to invest time to learn. That is the fun about it. Learning how to defeat the big bad evil guy at the end.And the community effort done by SC and others has already made it a lot easier.Read half a page - - > try doing it few time - - >success Instead of going in blind and really wiping over and over without knowing how it is possible to defeat the boss.
