  1. Neither, play Renegade. You have permanent group Quickness with Herald You have permanent group Alacrity with Revenant You have permanent group healing with a Vindicator Not many classes can do this while not in combat,. Sure Vindicator should be played as a dps but sometime a boss phase just has a bunch of damage to avoid; Switch to Saint Viktor and just start healing.
  2. Lol I don't think anyone here thinks one dodge Mirage is okay. Saying that Mesmer as a whole does fine in PvP. My Wife in particular loves downing people with her one shotting Virtuoso. The recent Aegis changes means she has great Quickness uptime when Dueling people. She has been loving the 3v3 Season. Open with stealth then just murder someone the team target.
  3. Im not claiming that you should use it in competitive it's just a PvE tip. It reiterate my point most people I talk to in game find Mesmer very hard to play and very squishy, being unable to survive a sneeze from a mob. The best way to play Mesmer is with a fixed rotation that can achieve high damage while avoiding the most damage. Phantasmal Defender is one of the skills that can help you achieve this. By all means it isn't the only one but it helps especially if you plan to play something like Power Greatsword.
  4. I think that's the point, best of both worlds. Right now, you can only use it once before the last charge will put the whole skill on cooldown. I would also like Restorative Mantras to apply to each individual charge, even if it's at a further 50% reduction. You could even re-introduce the very old trait for boon/damage reduction when channeling a mantra.
  5. With the Mantra changes to Mesmer we can throw Chronomancer into the pool of viable healers. It mostly boils down to Aegis uptime. Right now Mesmer has the most frequent uptime and it's easily able to pump out 5 aegis onto a group every few seconds if played right. Mesmer have port, boon rip, long Ranged resurrect. It's a utility healer.
  6. That would fix it, you could precast the skill and just not use the last charge. You would basically have the old Mantras back.

  8. Either way unless something substantial changes I will keep maining Ranger in sPvP/WvW. It is very fun having 10 second Barrages during a siege and watching people drop like flies with all of the self-buffs I have.
  9. I don't really want to weigh in here but I think people are far to focused on such miniscule charges. I mean atleast your entire profession isn't missing a dodge like with Mirage. Debating over cooldowns is a pretty fine luxery to have. Neither Druid or Soulbeast are unplayable with of the new changes if anything they where all very strong picks and probably needed a little nerf. I'm saying this even though I main them.

  12. I have tried this build, and this is how went as well. As soon as you faced anyone competent, they could shut down a good Druid, Untamed is much better in most cases. The one exception is someone like Paper Roll who is must really good at Druid.
  13. Love Paper Roll, you are correct he suggests this, but he regularly switches utilities. This is Roaming Druid build, so in this case that playstyle was nerfed. Honestly watch his latest video, he is pretty fair and balanced. The entangled nerf to PvE he says is worse which I agree with. I don't think he minds the Sharpening Stone nerf, but he is very good on Druid player considering its his main Roaming class. Okay so we now have 2 builds, one from a is a bit a troll Website from Jen and the other is a Druid main who only plays that Ranger Elite.
  14. Find me a build that uses Sharpening Stone. I mean I'm the only one who turned up any evidence it's being used in PvP and its a bit a troll build since its from Jen
  15. Mesmer is good, just not in PvP. You will struggle to find any way to carry a group outside of maybe a Chronomancer in any PvP gamemode. Most other classes have a good solid well rounded pick for PVP. This is exactly why I mostly play Ranger in all PvP gamemodes, with the odd Mesmer WvW escapade. Most don't care for Mesmer in anything other than WvW and most really don't like Mirage and the potential of a second dodge so it's no surprise we have heard no news.
  16. It does seem like the super speed on Glamour skills needs alot of tweaking but if they fix that I could see a place for Mesmer to have some interesting plays for a Zerg. I guess roaming did suffer on Mesmer in this patch Saying that an extra source of Aegis for Mirage with no second dodge and Virtuoso with quickness by blocking does have a little synergy
  17. Very true, I just wanted to bring this up again is all. Generally the fight won't last that long, it also can be staggered alot with the Signet of Either (heal).

  19. I'm guessing you mean Power builds. Most of your damage as a Chronomancer, comes from Phantasms and reseting them with you Signet heal and Continuum Split. Most of you open damage comes from casting each phantasms 3 times in a row. While Virtuoso is all about Shatters and Phantasms so you want priorities the F1 Shatter off-cooldown while only reseting the phantasms 2 times. You are probably losing damage in between the burst rotation.
  20. If you have the correct gear you can get it as high as 3.5k. I think it's more if you want to play a Mesmer healer, I'm not really going to claim it's a meta healer. I didn't play Mesmer back when they had the old Mantra of Pain so I didn't know it had been reverted. I also notice it's half the healing it used to be. Anyway I do fine when paired with Wells.
  21. Mantra of Pain has no cooldown.... Pair that with Restorative Mantras. It's not that the healing is even better than before (in terms of numbers its worse). Its more the Reliably + Damage + Eas of use. I was one of the rare Mesmer who did brave healing in Fractals/Strikes/Raids, but now this once complex and convoluted way to heal has been made very easy with Mantra of Pain spam. It has also flatted out my builds so there is very little difference in how I play Heal/Alacrity and Heal/Quickness.
  22. Yeah that is pretty much my recommendation to most people who do end game content. I tell people to do Berserker first with few Soldiers Ascended jewellery pieces that the can swap into if they need to be tanky. With the ultimate goal of Dragon or the Condition equivalent.
  23. I think you can have the bot re-target the clones but only if you are invisible. If anything you can abuse this in reverse by lurimg the mech away while you kill the engineer with clones.
