  1. Well 15 sec if you don't trait it so it's the same. I'm also considering the fact that you can reset the cooldowns on phantasms skills by two means. Over a fight the net result is more Phantasms from Shield 4. I will say I am talking about a Heal Chronomancer build. I use Greatsword and sword/focus on my DPS Supports variant.
  2. Basicly expand them and make all Utilities universal. Then Provide Heal and Ultimate skills for Core that are missing (would love a phantasm/clone heal and ultimate skills for Mesmer). Then obviously removing the Elite restriction on all Utilities. This would really help some more minor utilities get used. I'm thinking the Glyph pull (glyph of tides) from Druid which is not very useful for a healing Elite.
  3. Sword is only one phantasm not two. I did mention Traited Signet of Inspiration I run that exact Suggest Virtuoso idea in Strikes/Raids most of the time. You only lose about 5-10k DPS by switching and only on long fights.
  4. I have had to kick people if a Guild mate wants to come after all. It's very rare though and I normally let them know.
  5. They have taken quite a few steps to straight up remove the boon gameplay from WvW, some PvE skill don't even apply Quickness or Alacrity anymore. Its really just the more legacy Elites that still do but I bet they will be reworked. I mean Mesmer losts it Wells recently so it not to far fetched to expect Firebrand to lose some precasting ability.
  6. Seems like the most likely outsomce is far more flexibility with what you can bring. Pretty much every Elite can engage in WvW in anyway. For example you can Heal a Zerg with Druid, Soulbeast staff + Merge skills, Untamed staff Ambushes. Right now you are kind of stuck with Druid.
  7. It's just a different way of play Ranger. I love using and manipulating the pet and when I could only use Soulbeast I spend most of my time unmerged. I'm very good at managing my rotation and expending my resources/cooldowns very quickly, I guess I prefer more spammy classes. I can use Shortbow Ambush very well in PvP, I can cycle my F5 at the right time to maximize attack or defence. All round it just works for me, hence why I'm almost always in Gold 3 or Plat. For WvW I play the build I'm best known for, the Arrow Cart (Dual Longbows). It works so well with me able to pin down a Zerg as they rush through for a clash. I run Restorative Strikes with full Marauders and a little Berserkers, which results in me having a massive health pool while being able to suffer a lot of punishment while Barraging. If you want Conquest, then it Carrion and Krait runes, Venom and Agony for Axe/Warhorn, Agony and Purging for Shortbow. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?POwEcEWpsAmHrjRxOxS75NWVixrA-zVRYVR3WMsyIiUtiqyzDQI9AA-w
  8. Its a different type of mobility, not movement skills based rather Super Speed also don't let anyone tell you otherwise all the Ranger Elites have roughly the same speed. Depending on the build, but they can be very good in Team fight mostly due to Restorataitive Strikes. It can heal you about the same as a healing skill but every 10 seconds (similar cooldown Ambushes but is triggered on either F5 switch) This can let you Duel endlessly, or heal up with a Longbow Barrages, even chasing someone down though a Zerg to down them.
  9. Alacrity is applied by shatters so same thing as clones.
  10. @zealex.9410 Shield is really strong but only becouse it spawns two phantasms when you block. If you want Wells to work then these are the changes required. First both boon Grandmaster traits should apply to Wells in PvE. It would not be that OP since currently it's is very easy to overcap Alacrity or Quickness with just Phantasm Utilities (even if there is only two) plus weapons and shatters. Currently you can play a really good support with Scepter or Staff through just spamming Clones with Illusionary Inspiration. Now it also has the added bonus of boons of course. But if Wells were better you could trait Signets instead and boost everyone's boon duration with Signet of Inspiration. Funny enough this is what I do for my Mirage Alacrity since Condition damage doesn't need Domination for DPS.
  11. 100% agree, I had the same argument for Virtuoso before they nerfed it. You can watch for the invulnerability animations, and they are extremely easy to see. But the reality can't be changed, maybe one day all of the Mesmer missing mechanics can be returned.
  12. I will stop here since I don't want posts to be removed but I have been here for so long and well known to sticking up for Mesmer. Mesmer has the broadest use and application than any other profession in game. You can bring it to end-game PvE as a viable DPS, Support, Tank and now Healer. You can bring Chronomancer to most WvW Zergs, you can Roam with either Mirage (even before the nerf with chaining sword ambush). It might not be winning any tournaments, but any Elite can be brought to Conquest PvP.
  13. Okay return dodging while immobilized or stuns but now you have dodge frame like every other class (even Vindicator). No using skills while dodging or moving/attacking. Would that be a better alternative?
  14. Shade duration no one likes but the other two have got people supporting the changes so I doupt they will go back. Druid, Scrapper, Chronomancer have more positives than negatives with their changes. Druid got a much needed damage boost, Scrapper got a far more active and varied rotation, Chronomancer can now maintain boons without some convaluted build.
  15. The only contradictuon is Mesmers expectation that they should be left alone while the rest of the players base suffer. Even if some of the nerfs are unjustified and the balance team had a discord that vilified Mesmers players. Doesn't stop the fact that people did not like playing against Mesmer, even the fact that the recent Virtuoso nerfs were pulled directly from the Invulnerability complaints on the PvP forum. Some suggestions were much harsher nerfs so be thankful we don't have a repeat with the second dodge nerf on Virtuoso.
  16. @Firebird Gomer.9563 Give them some time. The removal of Fervent Force and the addition of Let it Loose will take some time for people to test what is good in Open World. For starters Duel weapons will be the way to go and probably Quick Draw. Right now I use Axe + Torch and Axe + Axe with Beastmastery and Nature Magic. My goal is to still run Stuns to trigger Enhancing Impact while not unleashed for Stability. With the new Spirit Trait I can trigger the Storm Spirit twice, Spike Trap, Path of Scars plus "We Heal as One" This gives me more than enough stability and cycling Unleashed Axes means I can maintain my health via life steal.
  17. Im enjoying the new Druid, Condition Damage got massively improved. Before Dueling someone in WvW or sPvP was a slog. Now all my heals just kill other players.
  18. Wait untill the 18th, when the suggested buffs come in.
  19. The reality is It was very broken back when it had this feature and the 2nd dodge. It was also a commonly suggested fix for bringing back the second dodge by lots of players. This game is not only played by Mesmers so it makes sense to nerfs something that had no counter play.
  20. Sorry I don't use Hammer in PvP (probably more ping related I live very far from US servers) I use two Longbows and Quick Draw trait. I have a Soulbeast (high DPS) and Untamed (high survivability) varients. On the Untamed Duel Longbow I run Restorative Strikes. I spam F5 to get Restorative Strikes back as quickly as possible (seems like it has an internal cooldown of roughly 5 seconds). This gives me plenty of cooldown reduction without Let it Loose but I can easily trait that if I need more Damage. Generally, I don't need to and rely on Restorative strikes to heal while using Perilous Gift for escaping or chasing. If you want a specific Let it Loose builds, I also have a Shortbow and Axe + Warhorn roamer (I have all build slots unlocked). I focus on CC and trying to lock down players, so they have no way of closing gaps or leaving Enveloping Haze. Its honestly my strongest Build, Gold 3 in US which is essentially Plat in EU. We have plenty of builds slots so why not waste one on the Arrow Cart. It does amazing at wall sieges or chasing players down. Rapid Fire/Barrage + Multishot + Quick Draw means never ending bursting.
  21. Yeah, I have done a few Open World events with Druids. The numbers they pull are amazing even if they are healing most of the time. Seems like they really nailed the synergy between DPS and Healing. They just need to boost the Alacrity duration and then its golden.
  22. Well tell that to people I either kick or leave behind that can't complete T4s or CM runs since they are always on the floor. Probably one of the easiest pre-events, the Nightmare Fractal Alters are Harder but there are Mobs in that one.
  23. Conquest PvP my logic doesn't really apply but WvW you can definitely run Virtuoso in the way I describe. I have seen some amazing Videos of people getting top DPS during a Zerg Clash. Even after the Invulnerability nerfs, I saw some nice beta shield gameplay. I have some infamy around a post where I claimed Virtuoso can one shot players in WvW. Up until last patch this was possible in two ways; Power, Stun + F1 burst and then Condition, F2 + Confusion self-kill.
  24. Every spirit slams the ground then shakes which provides boon. The trait repeats the Ground Slam but not the follow up shake. This seems like a bug more than a feature of the trait, let's hope they fix it so we can provide more boons as a support.
