  1. I would hope elite spec weapons become detached from their elite specs. I know this is a gigantic pain for some classes more than others (revenants don't have a condition ranged weapon apart from shortbow and trident; necromancers don't have any cleave without greatsword).
  2. interestingly I had an idea for a skill to swap places with an enemy. but honestly, it should only ever work when you and the targeted enemy are on even terrain (i.e., imagine teleporting an enemy out of a tower or they put you out of the tower? completely game-changing and busted.)
  3. https://i.ibb.co/6wm4QXV/Jamessss.png this one is my mesmer sitting alone somewhere in the Kryta area. (the icon indicates his elite spec of course). he's holding a legendary longbow "Phoenix."
  4. could use extra ferocity or precision somewhere in mesmer's traitlines. it would be so nice in domination spec tbh.
  5. No thanks, alacrity and quickness are overused answers and cannot reasonably be given to every spec. what's the point of every class being different when they end up all giving the same two boons? What's next, should reaper give everyone alacrity when using shouts?
  6. I'm not sold on quickness Deadeye. I'm pretty skeptical of it considering Anet has taken quickness away from Herald and Scrapper in wvw and pvp. Unless Anet plans on giving quickness to Deadeye only in pve, I sense nerfs incoming. It's not like they haven't removed quickness before from Engineer.
  7. This is what I use on my reaper. It feels fitting, strangely. Twilight is definitely my second-used skin too.
  8. Harbinger would especially benefit from an off-hand pistol, considering the lack of weapon combinations, and that all we get are just two off-hands. Pistol skill 4 could be you shooting bouncing bullets that bleed and poison while you evade backward; pistol 5 could be a grappling bullet that teleports you to your foe while dazing them. The aura grandmaster traits are really boring I agree! This idea was mentioned somewhere but what if elixirs changed their effects if you entered harbinger shroud? It would flip Harbinger over its head and would make elixirs more fun to use. My bigger issue with this spec though is its lack of defenses; this shroud no longer absorbs damage. Harbinger just gets one evade on shroud 4 which can be interrupted midair... Could've had another mobility skill like on pistol for example.
  9. mesmer: trickster, pyrokinetic, archer. imagine a mesmer using their mind, setting their foes on fire. thief could use a theme like a bladedancer with an off-hand sword. ranger being able to transform into its pet and so unlocking new skills to replace their current weapon set.
  10. I would not mind if reaper greatsword had a block on another skill or an evade on skill 2 (although gravedigger's CD reduction on foes below 50% health would need to be removed since a reaper would be evading probably every 2 seconds). it would help so much to have a block. a leap would be interesting too ngl.
  11. idk if it's just me, but i would absolutely prefer if elite specs that got a one-handed weapon, they should be able to wield it in both hands. like a virtuoso with an off-hand dagger or weaver with off-hand sword. so much potential goes out the window when it can only be used in just one hand. of course, there are exceptions such as soulbeast and willbender who got to dual wield the weapon in the hand they couldn't. harbinger feels completely lackluster without an off-hand pistol; I'd like to play with another condition weapon that isn't just off-hand dagger.
  12. frankly, you should avoid being on top of the wall because that's the quickest way you'll get pulled off. and if you're gonna poke from people below, you absolutely need stability if you don't want to get pulled. sure, there's still a high chance your stability gets stripped or corrupted, but at least you have breathing room. also, sometimes it's better to leave the tower than to be yanked off because you can't hit enemies.
  13. it's extremely improbable for revenant to get another new core weapon (trident only happened because revenant had two underwater weapon slots, but was only able to use a spear). but to tease the question: what revenant could really benefit from is a one-handed range weapon; if I had to pick, it'd be main-hand axe or scepter. could be power, healing, support, or condi, I don't care.
  14. Imagine thinking warhorns and torches have anything to do with magic. Anyone can blow into a horn or light a torch. Really? Sure, staff, scepter, and focus channel magic. But what would stop a random engineer elite spec that turns a scepter or staff into a command wand for their minion/golem?
  15. self-roots can be a little annoying, especially if you accidentally interrupt yourself. but that is a personal problem. :P mesmer's sword 2 does this but at least it evades while you're attacking. the best thing you should do before using any self-root skill is to get quickness or stability. but I will agree a skill such as warrior's greatsword 2 does not deserve a self-root since it's just pure damage and no defensive mechanism.
  16. I would remove alacrity from 'traversing dusk' and make alacrity trigger whenever the specter grants stealth OR barrier to allies. you can't really apply stealth, barrier, and alacrity at the same time as you'd have to take wells or deceptions (smoke screen, blinding power, or shadow refuge + any 2 wells? or off-hand pistol 5 and swap to shortbow for skill 2?). the easiest and only way you can apply barriers to allies is through a scepter, which is not good. I'd prefer traversing dusk to apply barrier. well of tears should corrupt boons or transfer conditions to enemies, imo. it's so useless as it is. looking at core specs like acrobatics or shadow arts, let's say acrobatics gets a few supportive traits. major trait: "the end of a dodge roll burns damaging conditions from you and allies." (5s, 3 to 5 allies) major trait: "steal health from a foe whenever you cast steal; you also heal allies whenever you do so." (3 allies) grandmaster trait: "if you cure chilled, slowness, immobilized, or crippled, you and a few allies gain temporal immunity to such conditions." (15s per ally, 8s of immunity, 5 allies)" shadow arts: in addition to protection, cover of shadows could grant swiftness and heal allies whenever the thief grants stealth. a new trait that causes shadowstepping to a downed ally who then shadowsteps to you. this would give thief as a whole a lot of breathing room when people are pushing into enemy zergs.
  17. either warhorn or off-hand sword (predictable I know).
  18. I would prefer torch, axe, warhorn, and focus. Honestly, I'm still surprised engineer doesn't even have the first two. How can an engineer not have torches? Think of blowtorches. Warhorn or focus could be cool as a power off-hand. Axe would also be great especially if it offered melee skills.
  19. reflecting projectiles your allies have already reflected. how many more times are you gonna reflect? https://i.ibb.co/VWmN20k/Mukluk.png
  20. If you wanna actually improve chronomancer? Make their wells mobile combo fields. Put stretched time's alacrity functionality into 'all's well that ends well.' even if that means chrono will be able to give both alacrity and quickness. 😂
  21. Ohh boy here I go with the shower thoughts. Of course, scrapper gets blasted off into irrelevancy. mobile combo fields are undeniably good, and now that's going away? Also, what is wrong with them granting quickness in wvw and pvp? Mine field losing boon removal hurts... what is the reasoning for going back on promoting the two boon removal skills engi had? I am loving the small change to chrono and virtuoso; distortion was sorely needed for the latter. I'm mixed on the boonrip changes in wvw; the nerfed boonrip on mesmer and engi is so gonna hurt for roaming, but in zergs, it won't prevent squads stacking engis and mesmers with throw mine and phantasmal disenchanter. Generally, if applying quickness is that problematic in competitive modes, put an ICD on the traits that allow you to apply it. No need to kill these traits. R.I.P to tactical reload on every bladesworn build you can think of. I feel so bad for the healsworn especially. Did warrior need any more damage modifiers? Never mind they're boring, they're everywhere on warrior's core specs.
  22. That would be a very weak cake. Don't need a trait to be baked into something so weakened.
  23. yeah chrono is awful and a confused mess all around. sure it can buff allies and itself, but wells are awkward, and we have traits competing against each other in the same tier. I've tried power chrono in open world and I hit like a wet noodle after bursts; it struggles with sustained damage. I liked condi mirage when I was playing w/ staff; no matter what staff has poor dps, though for open world it was a slow but safe way to play. Some raid and strikes groups I've joined even asked for alacmirage so it's got its place there. virtuoso, power or condi, is so awkward: from bladesongs having cast times to the entire kit focused on projectiles. you can get shut down fast w/ virtuoso. the trait that grants unblockable bladesongs can't even be used with master of fragmentation; your projectiles will be reflected and your bladesongs will be nulled. as for fractals, I've stuck with power virtuoso (I used to go power chrono way before these reworks). http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiABwqxzlVwaYbMGWJW6WaNPA-zxQYhonzbHUYhEWIEYCERF45sUlyGA-e this here is my pchrono build for open world.
  24. so core ranger got a new pet (white tiger) in EoD that grants aegis for 5 allied targets. that's why Rubi said "giving druids increased access to those boons."
  25. I'm really really glad anet is realizing the answer isn't to balance around a minority. Builds that extremely skilled players use should not be punished just because some players are good at said builds; it almost always hurts the majority. Mirage wasn't hurting any other condi builds nor was it overperforming. And as alacmirage (not the staff + axe variant), you already do less DPS than other condi builds. Besides that, I wish mesmer's scepter got looked at. A weapon with hardly any use on virtuoso other than generating blades and the block + evade. Oh yeah, make staff skill 3 literally do anything else other than generate vulnerability. How about some chaos like ripping/corrupting boons off foes or turning allies conditions' into boons?
