  1. What the Op describes is exactly what eles and revs players do. I seriously doubt there is a program that can determine what map is being played at the start and walk/run them to a exactly to the centre of a cap and then start doing unkillable rotations. That level of sophistication is beyond a simple program. I would say that would require A.I. and since the largest companies and militaries on the planet can't even produce A.I. that people wouldn't laugh at, I doubt some basement dweller could.
  2. Can't join a match. Same problem over 4 weeks. Poor show ANet, and season has just started. Just delete sPVP if you can't be bothered to fix it.

  4. Rip Mes. I used to play power chrono, they nerfed it in several rounds into the ground until I found to be unplayable in PvP. Recently I switched to Mirage, and I dislike condi playstyle, but I did it any way only to find that it's damage output is very weak but has slightly better survivability. Seems I like I came in on the tail end of the death of the Mes. They have even nerfed a bunch of core mes trait for no real good reason, making all specs much weaker. A prime example is blinding dissipation. they turn it into 1 blind every 3osecs. It is totally useless now. No one in their right mind would choose this. A total over nerf. They literally don't want anyone to play the class. But when you compare other classes power and condi specs to Mes they are monsters, but apparently that is fine. What we've witness is what happens when interns are let loose on balancing classes. Behold Mes is dead!
  5. ANet probably think things are in a good place at the moment. Just a few tweaks needed: Like buff Scapper tankiness, give Holo more CC with higher uptime time, buff Warr because...because, increase flame stacks to 50 because being the best damage condi isn't enough already, decrease cap sizes on all maps so condi aoe classes can dominate them more, put more shit on all maps so people and can't see what they are doing, give necros a 3rd health bar, and you can fill in the rest.
  6. I think you'll find a lot of players who agree with you. The forum is filled with the points you've made, I've made some of them myself. Basically it's not worth trying to appeal to whoever is in charge of these things because they don't listen. The fact they made these changes means they obviously have an agenda that hasn't got anything to do with the health of PvP. Some of the changes were implemented for Esport when that was still a thing. Well that was a flop, and since they won't get any revenue from it PVP is neglected. PvP is the old WvW now. The state of PvP has increasingly headed to no to little counterplay and a lower skill bar. AoEs have become more larger, obscene damage, ridiculous CC amounts, and higher uptime. ANet have broken a good few rules that make PvP fun. If you want AoE you should have to sacrifice damage, If you want to be a super tank you should've be out damaging or have it equal to a dedicated dps build etc.
  7. So I got hit with ranger's Maul, which in the combat log said it has base damage of 511 but it hit for 13034 damage. So that's x25.5 damage (2550%). Even with full might and vuln stack how's that possible?
  8. Sounds like very specific requirements. Let me guess you and your friend have already fulfilled them and therefore get automatically rewarded if your system was introduced?
  9. There are much less people taking ranked PvP seriously. A lot of the PUGs I've been in just want to fight, even if it means losing the game. How many fights have you seen when almost all of your team are fighting far from any cap, when the other team has two caps. I'm usually the one saying "CAP" in chat. People quitting the game because their spec gets totally owned by another class, and there isn't anything they can do about it. People testing new builds in ranked and playing classes they have no experience with because they want to eke out a few wins to complete their accension track to get the Legendary wings back pack. I didn't play GW2 for about a year and when I came back I practised in unranked to get my skill level back up, and then I went into ranked, and I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. That wasn't always the case. The positive is there seems to be less salt in ranked now because fewer people actually take it seriously any more.

Trust me. I've tried almost every permeation of builds for power chron and they are all useless. I pretty sure all serious mes on the forums would agree. Your first build has absolutely no condi cleanse or stability at all with a zerker amulet no less. That build will last approx. 5secs against any semi decent condi spec player/team with Scourge, Gravedigger, Mirage etc., and any spec/team that has copious amounts of CC (engis, fear necros etc.) you will be chain bounced around like a ping pong ball before you get a shot off. This used to be my favourite build a long time ago where you could get away with no condi cleanse or stab as a power chron, but those days are gone with the current crop of Elites and even the last gen elites. I'm sure it still has great use in a good team, but lets face it, you can get away with most builds in a good team. Most pugs aren't great teams, and almost all teams are not pre-mades. Overall very little sustain build. The second build has pretty good sustainability and probaly the best condi cleanse you'll get on mes (which is pretty poor in the current meta), but is no bunker by an stretch of the imagination. But the most important thing is the damage output is just way too weak. Very unlikely to take down other classes specs including their core specs outside of a team fight, or you'll be fighting any good sustain spec for days hoping that the first person to arrive to break the deadlock is on your team. As soon as you take the inspiration line you lose a significant amount dps on any mes power build. On top of that mixing power weapons with staff (condi) means you are splitting the weak dps even further since you've most chosen a power amulet. Tried signet builds, and the cds are just too long for good use these days. Don't get me wrong, I've had great fun using GS and Staff together if you trait it right, but you are not going to turn a fight outside of a good team (i.e. good support). Well double grav well is going to be good no matter what your build is :) But when you are building around your Elite skill, you know your spec is in trouble. basically the history of chrono has been buff to be strong and then nerf it to uselessness, and with the recent changes to core traits it has hit chrono even harder. I still play power chrono because I still enjoy he playstyle, but it still sucks and really isn't competitive. Chrono is actually just below perfect balance, the problem is other classes' specs are very overtuned in comparison, so it makes it not overall competitive. As soon as they started nerfing core traits to try and balance Mirage, they made power builds even weaker than before. Note stability and condi cleanse has been nerfed previously despite it not being good in the first place due to trait line placement.
  11. Power Chrono. Totally useless in PvP now. No buildable stability and hard to work any decent condi cleanse into your build without severely nerfing your damage. Even when you build for damage it isn't competitive. Try it and you'll see what I mean. It got repeatedly hit with the nerf bat one too many times and is now comparable to some classes' core specs.

  13. Thief had consume plasma way before Mirage or Chrono when there were only vanilla specs. Bizarre thing is back then thief was hard counter to Mes, and they were almost impossible to fight 1 on 1. Power chono struggles against them now after several rounds of nerfing, but then again power mes has been degraded significantly and has problems against most classes and specs, especially condi.
  14. The design of PB is ridiculous anyway. It is ineffective against 1 class (thief) because they have no CD. For some reason thief was designed originally as a hard counter class to mes. Look at consume plasma, out of all the steals against the classes they choose mes to give thief all boons in the game for a silly amount of time.
  15. I think unblockables are were the rot first set in PvP. It was where they primarily deviated from their early philosophy of counterplay. Counterplay now means stacking vigor for dodges, because quite a few unblockables are pretty hard hitting.
  16. Funny thread...the more single hit damage you do the less time it takes to down someone, and therefore the less skill it takes to do it.
  17. Wait until the next Expac...you ain't seen nothing yet. How does ANet make the most money, by releasing ever more ridiculously OP elite specs and then nerfing the previous elite spec generation. Rinse and repeat. This will all end in super salty tears.
  18. Don't expect too much. The blinding dissipation trait change from Blind shatter to 1 blind from CoF is just embarrassing for its laziness and lack of care. They don't want to nerf Mirage too much because they still want people to buy PoF, so they nerf core Mes traits instead which nothing short of retarded.

  20. Engi bunker is as boring to against and as hard to take down as the old chrono bunker and unkillable ele. My general rule is if it takes 3 players over 1 min to take a bunker down, it is too strong. Stability is a big issue here usually.
  21. Power chrono is busted. It's unplayable in any PvP. Literally every useful trait has been nerfed several times leaving nothing but soiled underwear.
  22. It's been in decline for a long time now and is still in free-fall. They tried to make money through sponsorships from Esport. That didn't work so basically its fuck sPvP. I seriously think that is the attitude. Unfortunately a lot of the the things introduced for Esport were actually bad for for in-game sPvP, and players are left with a hangover from that with a broken system and philosophy. There are basics that have been overlooked from the start of the game, like too much map clutter (e.g. Eternal Colosseum new changes - I mean...what the hell is that all about) , atrocious FoV and camera view, and intentional imbalances between classes. But the worse elements have been badly implemented elites and throwing the rule book out the window for little to no counterplay to various skills/builds.
  23. Don't even bother with power Chrono, I would say all the power traits have been nerfed or replaced with a weaker trait. A lot of traits are weak or pointless, look at what they did to blinding dissipation (1 blind every 30sec - via CoF shatter) as opposed to blind on shatter. Shatter play was killed to buff condi skills and latest eliite (Mirage). I recommend going straight to Mirage otherwise you'll quit again out of frustration. Build options are limited except for Mirage. Basically they gave Mes a bunch of great traits and skills, and eventually nerfed them all to uselessness so Mes is a bit of a mess at the moment in PVP, but if you want to PvE then you can get away with anything.

  25. Been playing PvP no problem. Just about to enter match and I get an error. Game crashes. I re-enter game 3 times, same thing happens just as I about to enter game. Anyone else having problems?
