Are you using the whistle to get the pet Skyscale to appear? Cause it sounds like you're just waiting for it to show up. Wiki says you need to play the whistle.

Are you sure you are using the right buttons to lean? Did you check in your settings?

You can send gold though the ingame mail system. You could then convert the gold to gems but make sure to be carefull, the exchange rate changes a lot. And you can not exchance gold for gems with a free account!

I will be trying the tower again this year. But only after I finished all the stuff I can do without it. That way I can just try and try. But also found another item that seems to be in the same range as OP asked for. "Expert's Guide to Tower Climbing", I was like, no! Turns out you can bypass this aswel with candycorn and the Coffer within the starting zone of the JP. Yeah, based on luck but I got the thing after spending about 1000 candy corn! So there are at least ways to skip (no pun intended) the Tower.

And you'll need at least one Candy Corn Cob to buy the recipe. But I've notiched that it does not take long to gather a 1000 Pieces of Candy Corn to turn into a Cob. Hope this helps!

I can't comment about the tower, never been able to do it. So I was also thinking, no noble outfit or the achievement. But turns out you can make the boots and get the credit and the whole set. Just craft the boots!

Would Anet not need to get licenses for those games? I mean they are probably Trademarked. And although I like the idea, I would rather have anet spend their money on other things. That, and with the games we already have and the festivals isn't that enough?

Well, you'll have to get PoF or EoD to get it back and be able to keep it. So if you don't own an expansion, you're out of luck.

Never really listened for the sound, of the top of my head I have no idea what gun/rifle I have equiped. But today I noticed the sound. It sounds like a guitar string snapping... I had to laugh ;). Might be because I read this tread though.

Just did this achievement. I noticed that I had already used some shards, cause I started with (I think from when the event was around the first time) 6 already unlocked. I used a video for the locations and the ones I already had sometimes showed as the shard but I could not commune with it. Grayed out so to speak. But some others I already had, didn't show up at all. Went through the whole video and found all of them, they all showed up as an icon on the map whenever I got close. So is it possible you already have this one and need a different one?
