  1. NO. It was 3/4 for each category. Big difference. For example today i have dodge rolling, 3 combo skills nad Valdhertz Crypts minidungeon. Now, i wouldn't want to go do that minidungeon anyway but since there is NO CHOICE, i went there and find that it is bugged. So i cannot finish my dailies today, because i have only 3 choises and one of them is bugged. In old system i would have gone and done the 4th pve one or one of the wvw ones. Now i just suck it up that today i wont get daily done. Great system...
  2. Could you elaborate how having only 3 set tasks instead of 3 out of 12 to choose from makes people play "play the game"? Issue is not the amount you have to do but lack of choice WHAT to do. Before expansion i did dailies every day i played but now i have skipped already 2 days of dailies purely because they had things i didn't want to do and i could not choose some other ones to do, like we used to.
  3. This is the point. Pre selection and being locked into random 3, with no leeway which one skip and which one do is downgrade from old daily system. This is textbook example of "fixing" something that didn't need fixing making it just worse than what it was.
  4. For me it feels they literally took the most loved system in the game and broke the fun from it. Problems for me are: 1. Lack of choice. We used to be able to choose 3 tasks from list of 12. Each game mode had 4 tasks so even if you did only pve, wvw or pvp you would not have to do them all but skip the one you for reason or another did not want/could do. And you could pick also from other gamemodes if more than 1 of your preferred game mode tasks were something you didn't want/could do. Now it is "do all these on the list or you do not get your daily chest". Makes it feel like a chore. Fix: have 12 tasks for daily (4 of each mode) and reward for doing 3 of them (+login one). 2. Meaningless tasks. I chose pve and i got "do dodge rolls" and "do combos" which just got done and would have got done if i never even looked at that system. Those 2 are not activity. Old dailies used to be activities that required you to look what activity is and do it. Even simple ones like "orr vista viewer" would require to you go to that vista to view it, resulting you traveling in a world (making it more lively) and sometimes ending up doing something else inspired by your visit there. Simple fix would be to use tasks that where used in old dailies and not trying to add these meaningless ones in. Old daily tasks where fine. edit: 1. Choosing category does not fit into all playstyles. For example i prefer open world things, and i don't enjoy doing small group instanced content but i time to time pop to do for example wvw. Choosing PVE puts fractals/strikes into weekly tasks, meaning i won't get my weeklies done unless i spend my time doing content i don't like. If all categories would be available "DO x amount of tasks from this list" i could pick some wvw instead of fractals/strikes" and still keep doing things i love to do.
  5. I just hate it that they give you 3 (+1 login) that you have to do, no choice at all. In old system i did mostly pve ones but even on those you were able to choose 3 out of 4, so if one was something you don't enjoy doing you could just not do it and in rare case there was 2 unpleasant ones, could pick one from wvw dailies and still get the daily 3 done. Doing dailes used to be this happy thing for me, even when not having lot of time to play could log in and pick the ones i like and do them, feeling i made small progress that day. Now all that awaits in the game is a chore list of must do. How to fix this? Daily list should have login + 12 dailies to choose from (4 pve, 4 wvw and 4 pvp). Do login + any 3 from the list of 12 to get your daily chest. Problem solved.
  6. Housing could be pretty simply made by having a home instance you can decorate same way you decorate guild hall. All tech is already in the game, just make small "guild hall" which is binded to player not guild and let every player have one just like we have home instances. Throw in some more deco drops from all around open world content and it will also be easy way to keep a lot of older content fresh and active.
  7. Everything is about timing, so all advice above given about timers is really important. Use wikis timer or just do internet search on "gw2 timers" and you find many websites showing timers where and when different metas and bosses happen. Not everything in timers is equally popular, but if you want almost guaranteed "walk in map and do the event with lot of other people without having to map swap/lfg" then there is some that always seem to have people doing them, for example Octovine, Chak Gerenth, Dragon Stand, Dragonfall, Tequatl, Dragonstorm (well this one is instanced) are super populated all the time. Also World boss portal device bosses always get done, if you go in time portal device offers to you. Cantha maps seem to have such low population gap they feel empty of people and just walking in doesn't usually give you map that has enough people doing meta. In there you have to use lfg to port to meta maps.
  8. They should just add that as reward to (replay) story version of the fight. Blackmailing unwilling people to do strikes by locking such a big feature behind it will not do anything good, not for strike population and not for community as a whole. If anything it will make those people bitter towards both strikes and the game in general and lower their faith for the future content game will offer.
  9. This meta is not fixed. This is meta on open world map, not instanced raid. It should be doable by map full of what ever players came to the map, even when some of the people on map are doing something else (fishing etc). It can be hard and there can definately be possibility of failure if people don't play right, but it should not require premade squads with spesific specs and LI/KP requirements. This map is already dead. First weeks there was lot of people and going to any DE map had at least attempt to the boss at the end. Now randomly going to DE gets you to almost empty map with some people doing events here and then but when meta starts most people just leave and there is so small amount of people present can't even start both side escorts same time. It is such a waste of potential and i am afraid first weeks experiences on the map (hostilities from other players, lack of rewards and big failure rate) has lead to less and players even trying to do the meta. I am worried if people will come back anymore even if it will be fixed to work like any inclusive open world meta in the game.
  10. We have Arborstone mastery, full mastery line for opening this place. Sure you can visit it without masteries but you will be missing lot of content in forms of different activities, vendors and achievements that are started from there. Another example is fishing mastery and skiff mastery lines. Without maxing those you will have very hard time to catch some of the fishes in places requiring higher fishing power for catch, this you need for some dailies, to get right fish to buy stuff from vendor and for some achievements. There is also some other things you cannot reach without certain new masteries, like places that require you to store more than 2 jade bot charges. There is plenty of new things opening to you via unlocking new masteries. We don't need to take out old abilities just to grind them back to have content - Anet devs are able to make new things instead.
  11. No. This game is not WOW and many players are here just because of that. Here you are allowed to have fun, things you get as rewards are not taken away from you just to be tangled front of your nose as "reward" to earn back later. Here you control yourself and make decisions whether you want to fly, jump, speed on beetle, sail on boat or perhaps just swim. There is absolutely nothing preventing you to do so. Other people using flying mounts will also not give them any advantage over you. You can gain height faster with springer and get same/faster landspeeds with any mount really. If someone prefers to slowly flop around on skyscale, let them do that in peace. This is Guildwars 2 and we love this game for what it is.πŸ’—
  12. Absolutely no. In fact, i think this kind of mindset in gw2 should be heavily discouraged by all means necessary. I have seen daily such maps where people are harrashing other people to leave the map so "right people" can fit in. I have seen people offering gold for people to leave. I have seen people cursing to other people on map blaming them for any troubles in event. I have seen people measuring random players dps numbers and mocking them openly about those in mapchat. I have seen people calling other players names in chat and asking that people on map report them to "get them banned for fishing in map when meta is on". Why would you want to encourage this kind of behaviour? These people don't deserve extra skins, they deserve a ban. Oh and if you wonder, I got my turtle already last weeks friday, 9 days ago, before any changes to fight were done. What were the key factors on it? I was LUCKY to end up to good map and we were LUCKY that boss did not bug around on cc-tail phase. We did not cheese green circles. People did mess up things. But we got it done because we were lucky with the phases. That's all it needed. Luck. No one was super special skill master, it was all about luck. And if you got it done luck has been reason or at least major factor for you as well.

I just did Leviathan on gold contribution and my loot was: 1 essence of luck (green quality) 3 unidentified gears (blue quality) 2 writs of Seitung Province 1 fallen branch (trash item worth few copper) Leviathan is not meta event but it is a boss event and after being rewarded like this i understand why no one is usually doing it when it swims by. Event left me confused and wondering is there somewhere some boss chest to loot i am not aware of?
  14. I do use those sites when i need and i know how to make gold, that is not the issue. I was just trying to give an idea about the lack of loot in expansion by describing playstyle and differences in gaining/losing wealth depending which areas i play in. I find it worrysome than doing pretty much same things gains wealth in older content and loses wealth in new one. I would feel better if they would be equally rewarding.
