  1. Quarry Overlook hero challenge in Dragon's End can't be reached without High Vault. Harvest Temple Main Entrance is an absolute pain to get to even with High Vault and not doable without. You may be able to cheese it during the meta, when gliding down from the airship, but I haven't tested that yet and it might not work with the basic glider. New Kaineng Insight: Lutgardis Market isn't technically needed for map completion, but another example of something that can't be reached without High Vault as far as I know. There are a few more Mastery Insights that I didn't get with the basic Springer that were no problem with the High Vault enabled Springer on my main account. I didn't try map completion in Echovald on the alt-account, but even the normal navigation in areas without zip-lines is much more annoying on a basic Springer.
  2. Not for EoD-only accounts since you can't reach certain hero challenges without the High Vault ability of the Springer. That means you need the Siege Turtle with the Improved Jump Jets mastery for map completion.
  3. The problem in this case is that I didn't screen grab it, to exactly describe which dialogue option to choose, etc. It's not like you can repeat that process once you have unlocked it. I might edit/update the wiki page once I run through EoD with my next EoD-only account this or next week.
  4. I was actually quite surprised how easy it was to get the mounts on my EoD-only account. It will probably take a bit, but for new players who either have EoD-only or HoT/PoF/EoD, it will be much nicer story-wise and generally easier to unlock the glider and mounts in the future.
  5. The EoD version of the Springer is acquired by basically just talking to a renown heart NPC, before doing that heart (which the Wiki has still wrong). No more prerequisite Raptor masteries, collecting carrots or paying gold required. back on topic: - EoD-only accounts still can't unlock core Tyria mastery insights. - the Old Bell Shrine hero challenge is still not repeatable, unless someone who hasn't done it before starts it
  6. My account that only has the EoD license, can't unlock core/Tyria mastery points via the Mastery Insights in the core Tyria maps. Inside the achievement panel these show up with the padlock icon and when clicking on the panel, the game tries to direct me to the PoF license in the shop. Mastery points from the personal story and from world boss kills get unlocked as expected and can be assigned in the mastery panel.
  7. Are you serious? A permanent bank access contract is 5500g on the TP which translates into roughly 26500 gems (over 330 €/$) at the moment of writing. Buying 5x the shared inventory 5 slot bundle costs 14000 gems without discounts. Since chapter 5 of IBS is free for all accounts for some time now, it's actually 4000 gems flat aka the same amount as included in the Ultimate Edition. As veteran player you actually paid for Living World Seasons separately? You are aware that they were given away free at their respective launches, even if you couldn't use them at the time, because you didn't own the required expansion? That's usually the reason why people are so frustrated by the fact that they are sold now.
  8. Technically speaking you should also delete the "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2" folder where the settings, logs and old crash dumps are stored.
  9. I assume the OP got at least the shared inventory slot included with HoT or more depending on his edition. Personally I'd go for PoF & EoD editions separately since you get 2x level 80 boosts and 2x shared inventory slots, instead one of each for 10 €/$.
  10. 4000 gems are actually enough, because you get chapter 5 of IBS for free for some time now.
  11. What resolution are you running? From my personal experience, disabling or reducing postprocessing quality usually helps a lot with DX11. It also reduces the amount of visible artifacts. Character Model Limit/Quality are also settings that can be used to improve your framerate especially in crowded areas. For higher screen resolutions lowering antialiasing might also help without much loss of visual fidelity. E.g., at 3840x2160@120Hz I barely notice any visual difference between high or low SMAA setting. On my other PC running at 1080p I keep it at high since aliasing is more noticeable. If you are using "overclocker" RAM modules, check your BIOS settings. Putting GW2 on an NVMe drive seems to help as well. Typically I run between 75 to 90 fps in Cantha zones with some of the above mentioned settings tweaked on my RX 6800 XT. In Lion's Arch I usually get close to 120fps unless I'm near the Mystic Forge.
  12. HoT is only free for previous owners and new buyers of PoF. You don't get HoT for free as standalone item or with EoD. I upgraded one of my heroic accounts to EoD last year and HoT was definitely not included with that purchase. That depends on the MMO. Take WoW for example: Once you subscribe, you unlock everything including the previous expansions and all legacy versions. However, if you want to play the current expansion, you have to buy that separately. Destiny 2 as full F2P game has a similar system that always requires you to buy the current DLC, but gives free access to older DLCs before removing them forever at some later point.
  13. You unlock the rod on all characters once you have done that part of the story for the first time. However you need at least a lure and preferably also bait to fish on your alts. Both of these are sold by the fishing vendors that can be found in the Cantha maps, e.g at the Fishing Hamlet in the 1st map or at the harbor area at the 2nd. Since both items are account-bound you can give them to your alts via your bank or shared character slot(s). Keep in mind that even the lowbie areas in Queensdale require 300 fishing power and the highest I encountered so far was a 700 FP pool in Orr.
  14. Luckily the European Amazon stores still offer gem codes. I hope you guys on the other side of the pond get them again soon. If I remember correctly from the last sales mess in Nov./Dec., the official Dutch and Swiss online retailers also offer codes for people in the US.
  15. You can't get any masteries as far as I know unless you also buy HoT/PoF. It's only the basic version of each. To be completely honest Anet should have just bundled all expansions together as baseline. Similar to what Blizzard did with WoW's battle chest back in the day when their expansions started to pile up. Personally I'd like to get a few more alt-accounts, but EoD only seems to be a bit disappointing. Even with the additional gold making potential, it's somewhat pointless as long as I miss out on the old expansions.
  16. Since when does EoD come with HoT included? As far as I can see in the shop, you can either buy EoD alone or the Collection with all three expansions.
  17. From my experience people are actually buying T1 mats like crazy since these are typically used by the keyfarmers to quickly level their characters to level 10. While it's not a moneymaker per se, folks like me, who use glyphed infinite gathering tools, actually make a decent amount of coin from the secondary mats of T1 nodes. If you only use vendor gathering tools, just skip certain nodes that would be a loss to gather. Personally I'd actually like to see more recipes or uses for certain T2 or T5 mats like silver ore or certain gems that are pretty much always vendor trash.
  18. When Anet changed the payment provider for the gem store end of last year, there was an exploit that allowed people getting unlimited amounts of gems for free. Most likely that's the reason why any larger purchases are reviewed and delayed nowadays. Depending on where you are living, you might sadly be better off buying gem codes from Amazon instead.
  19. Are you talking map completion only, or map completion & mastery insights? While I had no problems so far with reaching HPs, POIs or vistas without flying mounts, I still miss a few mastery points that seem to have fairly long or complicated paths around even with canyon jumping or high vault masteries. Also keep in mind that EoD-only players don't get masteries for the mounts or the glider, therefore it might be even more annoying to reach some points unless they heavily invest in Jade Bot masteries and chips.
  20. The actual combined price for all LW seasons is 4000 gems or 50 €/$ assuming you buy the bundles. If you buy them chapter by chapter, they are 5000 gems altogether. Considering that the expansion pack sells for ~50 €/$ as well, you only get half of the game in case you are new to GW2. Since Anet doesn't have some sort of a fixed schedule for more "return to" events, we don't know when or if the old LW chapters will be available for free again.
  21. That sounds mostly like an Amazon problem. It seems that Anet doesn't offer their retailers an online/live code-activation feature, so they have to order codes in bulk and occasionally run out of them. Just for reference the European Amazon stores still offer codes, so it is probably just a temporary thing caused by the higher demand due to the new expansion.
  22. Fishing would be much better, if Anet had implemented it as a low-level activity that unlocks around level 5-10, including a progressive need for higher fishing power and vendors placed around the core and previous expansions' maps. This would fit such a system much better. Once you unlock the masteries and the skiff at level 80, it would feel more organic overall. There is absolutely no reason why fishing in Queensdale inside a level 4 area is much harder than inside level 80 areas in Cantha, except for the tutorial area for this expansion. Probably the best improvement right now would be the addition of fishing vendors in the major hub areas outside of Cantha to allow equipping your alts more easily.
  23. That might be true to a degree for the storytelling aspect of EOD, but this expansion definitely targets new and returning players. Keep in mind that EOD-only players get the glider in the 1st map and both the raptor and springer mount in the 2nd map. All of them without any access to their respective masteries, but still useful for any new or returning player who lack the other expansions. Don't forget that you also get a max level boost to directly hop into the action.
  24. to 2: It's usually a good idea to use it on a profession you don't have at maximum level yet. As mentioned before, another good idea is to use it to first unlock the raptor mount via the PoF intro and after that the glider after the first chapter of the HoT in case you don't have that. Since the level 80 boost gets a full set of celestial gear of exotic quality nowadays, you might also consider using it on a character that benefits the most of that gear. If you decide to boost a warrior, grab a 2nd axe for free from the boost NPC in the Silverwastes. You can't leave the Silverwastes while testing the boost. From what I remember there is no time limit on testing the boost. To consume it, you have to confirm it twice. If you decide against using it with a specific character, you can try it on another character. to 3: Guardian is generally more versatile and easier to level, but warrior has some very strong and cheap core builds available at 80. Keep in mind, you have to unlock the elite specs before you can use them. If you are torn between the two as level boost, go for guardian since the gearset you get is much better for guardian than for warrior. to 4: Asura have some nice and funny voice-lines that aren't as overacted as Norn or Charr characters. Their personal stories are overall quite nice compared some of the other races. Although I'm usually a big fan of halfling races, I only made an Asura engineer so far since I personally don't really like the aesthetics of many outfits on them because of their feet. to 5: The level 2-25 areas feel fairly easy nowadays, especially if you don't have completed the tutorial achievements yet. Thanks to some of the onboarding mechanics, you get some fairly strong low level items between level five and ten that combined with the level rewards give you a decent starter experience. Personally I never buy any gear at TP while leveling. Karma rewards and random drops usually fill the gaps from the level rewards nicely. Since you can use glider and mounts from level two onwards, the journey is quite fast these days as well. to 6: It comes down to personal taste in my opinion. Just check the armor pieces out in the wiki. There are pictures for each race and gender. Just go with the one you like the most. The skin is unlocked account wide, so is the rare level one armor set that comes with it from the heroic box. You can also buy the other skins at the gem store when they are in the rotation again.
  25. This won't happen as long as Anet sticks to its sleazy gem store practices since lounge passes almost always require a shared inventory slot to be useful for most folks. It's quite convenient for people who want quick access to HoT maps, but don't have a guild hall teleport available.
