  1. It's our characters story when we play the story missions. if we roleplay outside them, it's an alternate universe version out of necessity. since there cannot be hundreds of thousands of alternate pact commanders at once. however the best way to handle it is simply never to bring up a "pact commander" in roleplay or if it comes up at all, everyone has a different rumor of what they look like. "I hear the commander is a 10 foot tall charr with teeth the size of dinner plates" "Oh yeah I hear the commander is a human woman barely 5 feet tall!" "Oh yeah, the commander is definitely an Asura, who else would be smart enough?"
  2. I'm speaking in relative terms. yes great advancements were made througout history. the wheel for instance revolutionized travel. but there have been a few innovations which have caused faster change for the years to come than anything to come before, making the prehistoric years seem stagnant in comparison. It's definitely no star wars galaxy, where tech stays largely the same for 100,000 years or even gets worse.
  3. Believe in Iron, not False Gods. But always learn the builds and watch all the false god videos.
  4. Aurene was cuter as a baby but I think maybe she should grow even more and ascend to a higher plane as part of the plan to make the world no longer need elder dragons. That way she's not directly involved in everything but still not "gone" so to speak, just watching from the mists or wherever. Also Taimi should get cured but then leave active dragons watch duty becuase she gets a prestigious academic job among her people, an honor and source of resources for her research she obviously wont turn down. She could then pop up now and then in story to help us with SCIENCE stuff and maybe even join us on an adventure now and then, but leave room to meet new characters.
  5. Human history was stagnant compared to anything that happened at the dawn of and after the Industrial revolution though. just, in comparison to the leaps forward in learning and technology. Another such massive increase happened when the Printing Press became popular. suddenly books did not cost the ancient equivalent of 10 grand each to own.
  6. I'd love to see a more friendly or just reasonable tribe of krait, maybe in an isolated area, some krait who do not worship the evil whats it called exsist. maybe we can help them stay independent.
  7. As far as we know. which means it could be either way, and only one of those ways actually results in cool future oppurtunities.
  8. I'm going to point out the real possibility that a human faction from the human true homeworld could pose a bigger threat than anything except maybe the dragons combined. Who knows how much they advanced in millennia.
  9. Yeah but the human haters will ignore any of that evidence. Why do people hate on fictional humans? Humans suck enough in real life, let us be awesome in fiction at least, it's an escape after all. I mean humans could be awesome in real life but most have chosen not to be. which is just huge dissapointment hence desire to escape into a world where humans can choose to be awesome and not awful.
  10. Kralkatorrik becuase of the fact he was just senile and sick in his old age and had a serious magic tummyache from balthazar.
  11. Not to mention in tabletop roleplaying the Evil alignment is defined as how selfish someone is and acts. Chaotic Evil is someone who acts selfishly with no thought at all for others and according to no form of rules at all. And as we know, Selfishness is a form of Greed. and Greed is hardly inherently evil. "I want money, I want power, I want to protect the world, I want to save everyone" are all some form of greed or another.
  12. how does it work currently? I've been out of the loop awhile and rarely play condi
  13. Do we know the new thief elite spec yet? please be Shinobi pleaaase! you know anything ninja like.
  14. The dwarves probably hid part of their race knowing that their expertise would be able to help the survivors rebuild after the dragons. The many dwarves we see now probably are those guys, emerging a bit early to help us finish the fight.
  15. What non humans see as certain extinction in the near future humans see as a temporary setback. that's what people who refuse to play or understand fictional humans will never understand.
  16. You know what's evil? Players who try and judge story and lore by in game mechanics and details that nobody ever intended to be used that way, lol.
  17. The "Superior" Race who has to be saved from their own experiments every 5 minutes. Asura are not smarter. they have more advanced science and tech and place a higher value on such. and are shown to have critically low WIS score . I love the little guys but let's not pretend one race is superior to all the others. if that was ever the case it would be humans if you look at most fiction. I'm more than satisfied with humans being an equal contender, which they should be. and are easily at least such once they stop worrying about gods and get to work. Not to mention I think this thread is about how powerful is the commander personally, not including huge robot armies. I'd say, not as much as the Warrior of Light and Darkness from FF14, who's slain a longer list of gods and dragons than you could recite in 20 minutes, (and the first few, according to story alone) but still definitely legendary hero level by the late story chapters, at least as good as an average platoon of angry charr.
  18. Braham when he's being a loser (this forum has the most absurd and onerous censorship) I know everyone wants gone. so, have him stop being one and leave it at that.
  19. I want Tyria to be visited/invaded by hyper advanced humans from the original human homeworld who have long since outgrown the need for gods and have nearly become that themselves. Sick of the idiots hating on humans. I appreciate all the races of Tyria and none is inherently better than the next. FYI humans in fiction are always the ones you should NEVER EVER underestimate. Tyrian humans are no exception. yeah this applies to every race but its an everpresent trope in all fiction that humans you really don't want to. The minute humans get over not being looked after by gods, and get off their posterior sections they can quickly eclipse the other races in power, in at least a few ways. the good news is now that power will be used to benefit all since we are all a big happy tyria family.
  20. Taimi is one of the best things ever, and we will cure her or put her in a robot or a computer whatever is needed to save her.
  21. (ignore accidental doublepost)
  22. Joko was not right, within the game. Joko was right in the sense he is evil GW deadpool.
  23. Primordus be like, "Stop! Me want take my lava bath! Why make me fight mean ice sister!"
  24. So with end of dragons promising the end of the dragon cycle, I would like to see an expansion focused on a new threat- HUMANS! no not tyrian humans, but humans from the human place. the place humans came to Tyria from. Out there there could easily be a human civilization across the mists more advanced in science than asura and more capable at war than Charr. With their gods having left LONG before the human gods left tyria, time to move on and advance, they would have become near godlike themselves, and now move to conquer new worlds! Tyria is in danger as conquest happy humans clash with Tyrian humans and their furry, planty, giant viking, and midget genius friends! a threat so advanced it rivals that of the dragons before it! Could also have a lot more story possibility than a straight up conflict with human characters getting some much needed special dialouge lines, and maybe even diplomatic negotiations in play. Some mistrust could happen for Tyrian humans from other races since people who are biologically the same are now threatening the world, we had mistrust for sylvari in HoT not unprecedented. Maybe these homeworld dwelling humans are simply looking for a new planet to settle, as theirs will soon explode, and are just terrible at diplomacy since they just would stomp everything normally? I Don't have an idea for a full asura story experience yet, but those little guys are so funny and great, with endless humor potential and SCIENCE so I think it could be amazing too. I have no time or patience for the human haters who dislike playing humans (that itself is fine) and hate on any who enjoy humans and defend their rightful place as a powerful contender once they get their act together (no excuse for hating on what others like). So let's ignore the fun killers, and ask for what we want to see for our favorite races, without infringing on others fun! (This post made after reading some ancient ones where some not very bright people trashed humans as weak or stupid, both the arguments of ignorant and trollish fools)
