  1. Power creep has only helped with the dps check side of raiding (something that still fails in some fights even today). No amount of power creep is going to replace the need to do certain mechanics, even simple ones like cc on breakbars. Using kp is one way of filtering out those who don't know these mechanics. It may be considered gatekeeping by some but since there's many people who don't bother to learn/research, improve or even read the lfg for what roles are needed it's understandable people resort to requesting kp. Granted some of the kp requests seem ridiculous but that's for the commander to decide, just wait for a group with lower requirements or create your own 🤷‍♂️
  2. Not everyone wants legendary, the game makes it so it's a qol item rather than necessary and for good reason. They are ment to take time and require a lot of grinding, if you try to rush it then you'll most likely end up getting stressed, bored or even straight up hating the game. The issue you seem to be facing is that you dislike the methods you currently use to obtain clovers. Many people have pointed out several ways to get clovers here. It's up to you if you want to try and use these methods. Also just because you dislike or find certain aspects of the game difficult doesn't mean that they need to be made easier. Legendary armour is meant to be a challenge and something to work towards. If it's made easier then it will loose some of its value and appeal. It's not needed to play the game so not everyone needs to have it.
  3. This expansion brought out OW legendary armour so its unlikely we'll get a new legendary anytime soon. Anet also said that LW story would be attached with expansions for no extra cost and with eod lw we did not receive any new legendary so I doubt they will do anything like vision or Aurora. Best bet is that they will release new pve legendary with next expansion in a year or so time. Could possibly be a set of trinkets, maybe even backpack.
  4. Depends on supply and demand, most likely demand will out weigh supply so gd price could still be incredibly inflated
  5. 9,999gd per item, so in theory each of the 6 armour pieces can be sold at this price, making it a total of 59,994gd for full set.
  6. Oh yeah those with the gd/money to buy gd will jump on that, but OP's reasoning is to make it more accessible to "casuals" with little time to grind. How many of these casuals are gonna be able to obtain the 12000 or so gd to buy the Armour or Mats for the armor off of tp?
  7. Not sure how someone with limited time will be able to grind the gd to get said legendary armour. I don't think this is really about "casuals" not having enough time to grind and do achievements to then get the legendary armour but more about people not wanting to do what is necessary in order to obtain it. Its a QOL item so you're not forced to get it in order to play the game. The idea of adding legendary to the game was for people to have long term goals, I actually believe having any legendary sellable on TP is bad tbh because it goes against this.
  8. Shouldn't you be open minded to why they are defending opposition to your suggestion?
  9. There's 2 separate marking systems. One for ground marking the other can be attached to players, npcs etc. So you can have arrow mark on shroom and another arrow mark in a player for example. Edit: only issue would be screen clutter but that would also happen with your suggested method.
  10. Hi, just some information that might be of some use to you in regards to getting the ascended hammer you wanted/need. Since you enjoy strikes, and providing you have POF & EOD minimum, there's the vendor Zazzl in Arborstone that you can buy stat selectable Living Water Hammer with 500 blue prophet shards and 15gd. If you don't have enough blue prophet shards you can also get them by doing Ibs strikes daily. A little bit of a grind but it's at least with content you find fun. Hope this helps
  11. I'm not suggesting people "suffer" to get legendaries, just that it's expected that they require a lot of materials and therefore may require grinding. Whether someone finds the grind to be "fun" or "insufferable" is down to the individual. Edit: I have been trying to give suggestions and tips to help people in regards to grinding, how to possibly make it less insufferable and warning people not to push themselves too hard with grinding to the point they burn themselves out.
  12. Fun is subjective, there have also people who had done past content to obtain their legendaries who have hated it every step of the way but pushed on till the end because they really wanted the item. The great thing about this game is that legendaries are not required to play, they are qol items designed to be obtained through long term investment. Only thing I can suggest to those who hate the content but still want to get the armor is to try and making it fun in other aspects. Listen to music/podcast, chat with friends or even cracking jokes in map as you do the content. Also not to be too impatience and push yourself too far to get it sooner. I speak from my own experience in regards to legendaries I've made myself. The most fun I had was when I made nevermore with a friend as we got to share the experience and helped one another.
  13. It depends on how you go about making the gold. Selling mats you get from meta as well as the pure gold for example. You might want to look up "gw2 fast farming" it's a website dedicated to listing effective farms for mats and/or gold.
  14. I mean this was what a lot people said they'd be willing to do in regards to getting an alternative legendary armor in pve. People found raids too hard to do or get into for various reasons and hated wvw. As I said before I understand its probably long winded boring content to farm but I think it's fair cost to having an alternative to raid or wvw armor.
  15. Other than the expansions, nothing in game requires the need to spend money. You can earn gold to convert to gems to buy stuff in store or do achievements/tasks in game to obtain. In regards to loot, if anet allowed everyone to obtain high end loot it would loose it value and no longer be high end loot.
  16. It's does not necessarily mean various tasks either. Wiki even states "Grinding is a term used in video culture, referring to the act of repeating an action or set of actions, including non-repetitive tasks to achieve a desired result at a level of certain difficulty, typically for an extended period of time." Grind is repetition, whether that's via one event or several.
  17. Based on anet's past announcement on June 27th, crafting components for the legendary armour will be obtained in open world gameplay in Soto. Based on this information it makes sense that some materials required is restricted to Soto maps. This also isn't unusual as a lot of legendary items require materials from certain zones in order to craft. In regards to it being a single activity, this is a bit more unusual in regards to obtain certain material but it's not much different in regards to event grinding in order to get items or materials needed. Take dragon's stand for example, you obtains machetes by doing various events or by spending currency from different maps but ultimately you only have certain amount of chests you could plunder per meta. You'd have to repeat the meta several times to get the currency needed to craft the weapon you were trying to get.
  18. I won't argue that its not mind numbing, most grinds are, think people just need to take this at a slower pace. I rushed Aurora and felt little to no satisfaction from it with how tiring it was. When I did vision I worked on it at a much relaxed pace and felt much better when I finished it. Wanting instant gratification or reward tends to be where people get impatient and start to ask for changes. Not a lot of content for legendaries are difficult and for those that are more challenging a lot of the community are willing to offer help if people ask for it.
  19. Aren't most legendary items beyond g1 weapons require grinding specific content in order to obtain it?
  20. I understand the want and need to implement legendary armour into pve as alternative game mode but yeah the idea was that it would come with a greater material and time cost. Though this attitude of wanting instant satisfaction/reward or not wanting to put the effort into what is required has also been present it seems to be more noticeable these days.
  21. I believe the low value drop was due to the change to mf. The devs capped it at about 750 because with the envelopes the trophy items were the high valued items in terms of gd but the high mf would cause these items to never be dropped. This probably had knock on affect on of item drops across the game.
  22. As far as I can remember lunar new year festival uses luck as currency so yeah save and spend it there.
  23. I have a question: Do you have all expansions? Reason I ask is that I only have the Tribulation Caverns JP as a weekly. I'm wondering if the lack of expansions reduces the variety of weeklies.
  24. On one hand, yes I believe there should be variety of content in weeklies, on the other the system before had many more jumping puzzles to get daily during the week. There are 6 or 7 other options to choose from or even yet don't do the weekly if you don't like the content.
