  1. Think this was the reason emboldened for raids was introduced. It gives those less experienced that extra boost to get through the content. However the rewards for emboldened are the same as normal so there's little incentive for people to go for normal mode or, for some, to try harder. For strikes ibs has a timer tiered system where you get better rewards for doing it in less time. Eod strikes don't have this as far as I'm aware. Both have no enraged boss timer so people are able to spend more time in the fight if needed. Main problem is people going in completely blind to the fight and are unprepared. There are many guides to fight mechanics, build set up and rotations etc out there but casuals either seem unaware or don't understand the importance to this preparation. This is where the more experienced players usually come in to help. There needs to be a level of compromise to casuals and experienced players when it comes to end game content as well as a level of expectation. Which is probably why training lfg was introduced too. Its mostly becomes a bad situation if a casual new to the content joins a group looking for experienced players. They may argue there's never any training groups on lfg but it doesn't mean that it's a good idea for them to try and join a group looking for specific standards. There's plenty of guilds out there offering training to casuals/new players, they just might have to go around asking in game or via the forums. I only consider a player to be an elitist if they expect extreme expectations, people make mistakes, as long as it doesn't wipe or greatly grief the group and the run is smooth then I don't see the problem. This is a mmo so some patience is needed 😅
  2. Isn't it part of dynamic events chain? Hence why no timer.
  3. A friend of mine and I recently did dry top and silver wastes farm for nevermore. Main problem with dry top is the constant need to teleport to get to events where as with riba is just a circuit you do tagging events and getting rewards. Also the chests in silverwastes are more frequent and don't require a time meta unlike drytop chests. My friend also got 100 crest drops now and then which made it a lot faster to get 1000 we needed.
  4. Get Geode. Bandit crests are quicker and easier to get, especially with riba farms. Drytop events are a nightmare in comparison
  5. There's a lot of variables when it comes to "good dps" or "average dps". Like what class do you play? Is it power or condi? Does the class perform good in that encounter? etc. Though as a general idea most classes are capable of doing 35k+ on the test dummy atm. Might also consider that commander may have been looking for someone confident enough in their abilities so your comment of "having average dps" may have been a deterrent. Not to say that the kicking would not be considered rude but it's up to the commander to decide on who they kick or not. 🤷‍♂️
  6. The footfalls are part of the appeal and reward for having the legendary. Maybe allowing people to have the footfalls if they change the skin of their legendary but other than that no.
  7. You get quick on harbinger and with the upcoming balance changes will probably be making a come back. Necro only doesn't provide alac atm so adding alac to scourge would make sense tbh. Also it's hard for anything to be competitive with firebrand since it had mass utility options hence why its most desired class for Quick variant.
  8. Just because you don't like the mini pet thats guaranteed in the BLC does not mean its therefore bad to be put in BLC. Many people may still want the mini or even don't care but still want to try their luck to get other items currently in the chest. Anet are not gonna change that just because you are dissatisfied with what they offer. If you don't like, don't buy. Your point in saying that you're trying to send "constructive feedback" and then getting angry or insulted with other peoples responses that either don't agree with you or point out how your "feedback" has little to no consequence to what is put in BLC is also counter productive. This is a forum, there are different players with different opinions or those who have knowledge that may help some understand things more clearly. Not everyone is gonna support your point of view. If you want a particular skin then either buy it off of tp for gold or wait for it to appear on gemstore/black lion statuette.
  9. This is why people ask for KP or experienced people. This trend of entering end game content with no clue what to do or listening to commands has been getting worse and worse over the years. Some feel entitled to get whatever they want in game with little to no effort. Not every encourter requires god teir dps or people to overperfrom but to not even follow directions and communicate is just beyound me at times. Some people also don't seem to understand the level of effort and how tiring leading and teaching can be. They call it toxic to kick those not experienced in that encounter for a clear run but don't find it toxic that they put more strain on the other squad memebers because they don't meet the requirements 🙄
  10. As in "real flying mounts" do you mean a mount that can fly non stop without endurance? As fun as this would be you understand how game breaking this would be right?
  11. Maybe the "away" option would be best for that rather than "offline". Even if you are indeed afk or away then you're likely to response to your friends rather than a stranger.
  12. The main thing to focus on here is that you clearly stated you were looking for experienced people in both lfg and via chat. Regardless on how easy the content is considered those were the requirements you set out. Fair enough he can join and ask if thats ok but also should be prepared to leave or be kicked if the commander decides that its not something they are willing to teach or have to deal with. Ultimately its your squad dude so you can make whatever decision you want regardless of whether others consider it good or bad, though in this case its just neutral/fair. Unless you said something in particular that was considered directly insulting the player those left who berated you for making that decision should just up and leave if they have a problem. You have no duty to any player other than the bare necessity you set out in the lfg and whats required from the content, which in this case was to set up a squad for a strike for experienced players.
  13. Not sure about whispers but I know that you also can't invite them to party/squad while they're offline unless you have them in your freinds list. Maybe the same applies here? But yeah I think the whisper rules should apply to both ends rather than it being a one way system
  14. Think one of the main problems with the constant balance changes is that they "fix" one or two aspects to a class rather than take time to fix larger issues. For example fb has always been op but most changes they make seem to either buff it or affect other build when they're trying to change 1. They also made some large changes by removing class unique buff and making boons the staple of organised group set ups (alac and quick in particular) so they've had to try to balance around this new aspect to the game. And of course whenever they make changes there's the chance they have to alter these changes dependant on how they perform in game. The balance team probably don't have the means to test everything so they probably rely on how gamers adjust and what outliers appear over the weeks per update. Tbh the balance team have a lot on their plate, this is fairly new aspect (at least in frequency) to the game considering its age and it seems they're still trying to get the hang of things. It's great they now take on board the feed back from players for up coming changes as some players have great knowledge of certain classes and how these changes could possibly affect things good or bad. Hopefully they'll be able to hit sweet spot in regards to balance without affect the unique game play of each class and elite.
  15. Yeah that's what I meant lol. Sorry probably should of worded it better
  16. Easiest would be the legendary amulet associated with season of the dragon achievement assuming you have the nessary story content unlocked (seasons 2, 3, 4 and icebrood saga) I would also suggest getting trinkets, rings and backpack first since they can be used on any class or any weight. Runes and sigil are also class wide. Weapons and armour are more restricted to class type. Wiki has all information on legendaries and mats/achievements required. Gw2 efficiency will give list of required mats as well as step by step crafting guide.
  17. For ascended weapons and armour you might want to consider farming the 3 easy ibs strikes. They are easier than raids and you can exchange the currency for selectable stat gear. Being able to gear your character before getting into raids will also be helpful.
  18. So you consider it rude that you get kicked in groups that look for experienced players but don't consider it rude you join these runs without having the requirements they ask for/expect? I'm sorry you find it difficult to find training groups to join but there are many ways of trying to be proactive to solve this e.g. advertising you're looking for training on lfg, looking for a guild that does training runs etc. Your attempt to complain about the community when you're the one putting yourself in this situation doesn't really leave a favorable impression.
  19. Ah I see, but that doesn't explain the other mounts that are pof/lws4 exclusive
  20. By that logic they wouldn't do any mounts as they are all pof or lws4 feature. And a lot of previous expansion features are included in later expansions, they just make sure it's not necessary in order to complete that expansion's content Edit: skimmer is also one of the base mounts you get via pof
  21. Tbh this is down to personal taste, a lot of people enjoy the alternative shape of the canthan mount skins, the only mount that hasn't recieved any attention lately has been skimmer which I would say has been replaced with skiff.
  22. Tbh, with how many people ask, I'm surprised they don't make a tonic that turns into another race and can be used in combat (similar to the tonics that make you big or small.) Granted you won't be able to customize it like Character creation but it might somewhat itch a scratch people have.
