  1. Easiest would be the legendary amulet associated with season of the dragon achievement assuming you have the nessary story content unlocked (seasons 2, 3, 4 and icebrood saga) I would also suggest getting trinkets, rings and backpack first since they can be used on any class or any weight. Runes and sigil are also class wide. Weapons and armour are more restricted to class type. Wiki has all information on legendaries and mats/achievements required. Gw2 efficiency will give list of required mats as well as step by step crafting guide.
  2. For ascended weapons and armour you might want to consider farming the 3 easy ibs strikes. They are easier than raids and you can exchange the currency for selectable stat gear. Being able to gear your character before getting into raids will also be helpful.
  3. So you consider it rude that you get kicked in groups that look for experienced players but don't consider it rude you join these runs without having the requirements they ask for/expect? I'm sorry you find it difficult to find training groups to join but there are many ways of trying to be proactive to solve this e.g. advertising you're looking for training on lfg, looking for a guild that does training runs etc. Your attempt to complain about the community when you're the one putting yourself in this situation doesn't really leave a favorable impression.
  4. Ah I see, but that doesn't explain the other mounts that are pof/lws4 exclusive
  5. By that logic they wouldn't do any mounts as they are all pof or lws4 feature. And a lot of previous expansion features are included in later expansions, they just make sure it's not necessary in order to complete that expansion's content Edit: skimmer is also one of the base mounts you get via pof
  6. Tbh this is down to personal taste, a lot of people enjoy the alternative shape of the canthan mount skins, the only mount that hasn't recieved any attention lately has been skimmer which I would say has been replaced with skiff.
  7. Tbh, with how many people ask, I'm surprised they don't make a tonic that turns into another race and can be used in combat (similar to the tonics that make you big or small.) Granted you won't be able to customize it like Character creation but it might somewhat itch a scratch people have.
  8. New legendary may come with new lw/continuation of Eod but it probably won't be released until they finish that as like other lw legendaries it will probably have list of achievements required from all new maps. Basically will need to wait a bit longer op.
  9. Asking for a certain amount of kp is just a way to know how many times people have completed that content. It should at least show the person knows mechanics etc but even then you run the risk of getting someone is has been carried by others that they may not fully understand the fight. As much as you say its tedious it also reduces the risk of getting someone who knows nothing and is joining on a whim and then failing because said person can't pull their weight. Cms and raids do require some level understanding and cooperation, some people don't know/realize that the who thing can fall apart if certain things are being done correctly. Yes this can be restricting to new/unexperienced players or players not having enough of the right kp but at he same time the people lfging don't expect or are willing to teach the fight during that run so it's a way for them to attempt to filter that out.
  10. I've personally only seen people asking for kp in fractals for cms since that's where you get kp. Most people ask for in normal t4s is food and potions. Also kp tends to dependent on what content you're joining. For example strike kp may not be accepted when joining a fractal cm asking for kp since its not the same kp. Only kp that seems more universal is LI since most raids are consider the harder content. Kp is a good way to filter out some of the newbies or players not yet confident in that area but it doesn't guarantee you'll get the best 😅 Note: I know LI can be obtained from other sources but raids are the easiest/quickest way to obtain them
  11. You know I've been thinking about the points you've made here and I think a lot of it makes sense. Gw2 has been moving fast last couple of years, particularly with eod and steam release. A lot of people got attracted to the game. As far as I can remember anet haven't really had broad advertisement like other games ( I myself got recommended by a friend) so to go on steam probably gave the game a boost to its presence. However this may have come with more pressure and ambition. They're probably trying to provide more content due to the fact they have to entertain and entice more players/customers. I however think this has also made some people more greedy and entitled (Another behaviour been seeing more often lately). People expect things and sometimes to get them easily, whether they are a casual or pro player. Like in terms of fractals "elitists" think they should be able to get them down quickly with no mistakes, so get angry and/or rage quit when they come across players who aren't at the same skill level as they are, even if they are decent players. Where as "casuals" expect to get things easily without putting in effort ( examples such as skyscale grind or DE meta). Of course this is no everyone but they tend to be the loudest 😄 Think the main thing to remember is that this is a multi-player online game so there's always a risk of coming across different types of people. Just need to try not to take it too seriously and continue enjoying the game in your own way. Don't let a few bad eggs ruin the fun, just have a laugh about it and move on 👍
  12. This game is more complicated than people think. I myself didn't actually get into builds, end game group content and using the practise golem until just over a year ago and I had played the game for about 3-4 years by then. The information and resources are out there but I don't think many know it exists let along where to look for it (Google search is a good start though 😅)
  13. Steam did bring in a large flux of new players and this comes with disadvantages on both ends. On one end you have new players trying to learn the content, on the other end you have the establish players who are having to deal with the new players joining content they know nothing about. I'm all for helping new players learn the ropes etc but when you go into lfg looking for experienced people and get people who fail on simple things or make lots of mistakes it is very draining. I feel that a lot of the toxicity has developed from this. Think it's hard to find balance between what should be expected and what to be more lenient about.
  14. Depending on the content, yes they are mandatory. Raids for example are time gated. So alac and quickness is needed here but also decent dps. Why would you sacrifice more pure dps players when a healer can cover one of these boons? And even for content not time gate like strikes or fractals, having less dps means mechanics/phases/overall damage to player lasts long and can be stressful or result in a fail. These elements of the game were designed as coordinated group content where certain players need to preform certain roles and responsibilities, and anet decided quick and alac were key boons, which makes sense due to what they do. And its within players expectancy for these to be provided as good dps and performance needs these boons. Your build does not fit this content sorry.
  15. I hope this is a change they implement. Rangers and necros get to use pets/minions underwater, why not mech? As op said, it's destroys build set up, especially when playing support.
  16. Hi, mechanist pve user here, thought I'd share some experiences and opinions that may be helpful to some of those who read this discussion. I've played the low intensity condi mace, low intensity power mace and low intensity dps power rifle builds and still play Ham and low intensity Alac dps. In my opinion the nerf to mechanist was justified and the class is still viable. There are still issues sure, but there will always be issues when trying to obtain balance. There's nothing wrong with having low intensity builds that do decent damage per say but it should not be on the same level as classes or builds that require more effort. And the aspect of having to manage the mech is not a huge problem and only requires a small amount of effort. Does this new level of effort really destroy the gameplay? It's still easy to play class and has the necessary skills and utilities to be able to do most if not all content of pve. With the changes to the rifle auto attack animation, personally I don't really care much about it, it seems more of a aesthetic kind of complaint to me. I don't really tend to get upset by whether an animation looks cool or not as long as it doesn't cause problems to the damage. I can understand people's disappointment though since pew pew pew was hilarious when it first came out xD. My knowledge of pvp and wvw is lacking so I can not write about that myself. In regards to your comment about only buying the game to play mech after the update...erm, is this true? Like you're saying that was th only thing that made you buy the game, but you also state you tried other classes? And tbh only buying a game to play 1 class seems a bit short sighted. I don't know what your personal look for in games but when spending money to buy a game it's usually best to consider all aspects of the game/expansion you are buying to make sure you don't regret it later. And the fact you said you bought it after the rifle rework means that Eod had been out for a good few months meaning there were plenty of reviews on information on the content of the expansion. Lastly, your request for refund on these ground will mostly be denied as you agreed to the terms and conditions when purchasing that allows Anet/NCSOFT to make changes to the game.
  17. Not sure if it's an achievement but seems to be randomly generated as I went back later and it was gone. I don't mind it appearing but the automatic teleporting when getting too close was the main problem. Like they also appear in bloodstone fern but at least you get teleported onto the same map rather than sent to a completely different one.
  18. Hi, so doing map completion for 7th time and came across a problem I've not encountered before. There’s a Class 1 Magic Rift right next to a Vista in Hoelbrak on Lake Mourn that automatically teleports you to Field of Ruin. Not sure if this was intended but its extremely difficult to approach and activate the Vista without accidentally hitting the Magic Rift and getting teleported. Would it not be better to have the teleport an inactive option or move the Rift away from the Vista so people don't have to slowly inch towards the Vista in fear of hitting the Rift and getting ported? Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I couldn’t find any relevant past posts when searching. https://imgur.com/Yoo1F8M Update: had a look on the wiki and they're part of a dynamic event related to the LWS3 but nothing mentions about being automatically being teleported if you get to close.
