  1. Didn't the devs say at one point they would be releasing especs outside of an expansion? Mike Z mentioned "expansion-like features" for LS but nothing specific about elite specs. It would be cool if that's true, do you remember where that was?No, I've just seen it mentioned in a few threads by other players, which could, more than likely, be people reading into things, mixed with other, such as myself, parroting back misinformation. I guess we all hope, right? I know some don't like the balancing issues new especs bring, but I love getting new styles, and weapons to try out. I'm also not one for doing competitive, or cutting edge content. I still roll LB/GS on my DH, and do better with that than I do with other weapon sets.

  3. Ah, the true tank spec. Just go toughness/vitality/concentration, and stand in every boss attack in the game, lol.
  4. You seem somewhat angry, and quite against more new content for some reason. Just because. Nothing has been announced, doesn't mean people can't talk about what they would like to see. It also doesn't mean there won't ever be a new expansion again.
  5. Lack of use doesn't suggest new especs, and the fewer classes using said weapon only opens up the pool wider for someone else to possibly get it. Rifle doesn't fit the class at all. I would imagine mesmer, or ranger getting it before rev. Thematically, GS, MH axe, a dagger for either or both hands, or warhorn make the most sense, followed closely by scepter, and focus.
  6. Looks quite uninteresting with some random armor and no specific traits/theme. But at least they fit together. Advice: increase details and look for a nice background next time to fit the mood and make the picture more appealing. Tell us how you really feel.
  7. Lol, because that changes the way the class is played. It's not as if they are getting the warrior treatment, literally just adding a different attack. They are very different from the core virtues, and we are interested to see how the class will play with new ones. I fail to see how change is the same as always
  8. Could be dual focus build, if a weapon is necessary for game mechanics. Focus is probably not my go-to weapon, it's really bad on ele, and I don't have much trust (I'm sorry), on how having it on main hand would change that, as the skills are not quite fun to use. Maybe a two-handed weapon that has been melee and range for some professions. It was a joke, based on your weaponless build idea.

  10. The last time I had problems with a boss was Cadecus in LS3, but that was easy enough to power through, and still be half clothed. I was actually disappointed with the fight against kralk, way easier than I thought. If I'm not yelling at my screen, it's too easy, lol. The only time I ever run into problems 99% of the time, is when I tunnel, and don't pay attention to where I'm supposed to be going, or what I should be doing.
  11. Case and point, as of posting this, the fourth thread on the front page is from a player that played at launch, until level 30 (one can surmise from that the player has been gone for many years, since literally everything you do gives you experience to level), and is wondering if it is worth coming back. At very least, this person has been gone since before HoT, because they have no knowledge of gliding, or mounts. This person may have been repelled by losing their name (pure conjecture, but based on past experiences, and others' comments), which is worse for the game than names sitting idle.
  12. People need to come up with last names, and titles like the Vikings used. Ivar the boneless, Eric the red, Eric the great, Leif Erikson. This game is so easy in which to make names. Sorry, Sephiroth, and all of its deviations are taken. Nope, Groot is unavailable, be more clever.
  13. I have absolutely no problem making names. Maybe you are just choosing the most unoriginal names around, ones everyone e else thinks of, too. A big no to removing names from people's characters. They got the name, they deserve to keep it. Try coming up with some more original names.
  14. To keep it balanced, they could go ahead and change up all of the abilities while DWing 2h. DWing 2h has been a pretty prevalent facet of the "warriors" in games for a while. D3 has the crusader using a 2h in the MH (not entirely the same, but the same concept). I'm pretty sure you could DW 2h in EQ2. I think something like this could definitely work here, maybe even paving the way for new weapons (2h axe pls), or DWing staves on an ele, lol.
  15. I thought of another one the other day in the same frame of thought as torch MH. A warrior that uses a GS (preferably), or hammer in the OH, giving it the ability to use two 2h weapons. Your MH would use the normal first three skills, and the OH would give you two new skills. Call it the destroyer. The animations would need to be adjusted, especially for GS2 (you could make it a 1h animation with the same effect, or change it to use both hands in succession). A MH torch guardian would be fun. DWing torches sounds like a lot of fun, lol. So much burning.
  16. Don't blame ANet, blame the players who have come this far (i.e., to play an expansion) and still don't know what CC means and when to use it. Then again, you can blame ANet for not having any decent tutorials for the basic game mechanics in place. I have to agree there. I didn't understand breakbars for months after reaching 80. I finally noticed one day while playing gusedisn, GS5 was doing something to the bar, so I tried it again, then started going through the CC of all my classes to make sure. Before that, I was just trying g to burn as quickly as possible. I like the concept, but it isn't the most obvious mechanic.
  17. My favorite is when you go into a downed state, and they run up and just stand there. It wasn't as if they were attacking anyway, but they aren't really doing anything, now are they?
  18. Another one I came up with (slight necroing), a destroyer, a warrior with a GS in the OH. The MH would use the first three skills of 2h you choose to use, or just the regular abilities with a 1h.
  19. It might be attracting a lot of attention from former WoW players, but there are also a lot of people who play other MMOs who chose not to play WoW for various reasons and I can't imagine a reboot of the game which didn't interest them originally will interest them now, unless it's fundamentally different (which would defeat the point of making a 'classic' edition). I was going to list some of the changes they'd have to make to interest me, but basically it would need to be a totally different game. Especially since the original thing which put me off was when they destroyed Quel'thalas in Warcraft 3 and I realised you wouldn't be able to play as a high/sun elf. (Not a blood elf, that's not the same.) Seriously. People have been screaming about the death of WoW since 2006, and even though I feel like it's not as great as it once was, it is alive 13 years after the fact (15 years of total life). That is a long time for a game to run, so people will come and go, and return. I have never understood why people feel the need to talk about it. If the game is dying, there isn't much to be done about it, and if it isn't, you just look dumb. That said, dying games don't get people added to the team, more content, QoL additions, or a plan of near and far future plans.
  20. Breeding can cause many changes in the animal. This is how we went from wolves to toy poodles.
  21. I dont know what you might call it, but I would love to have a LB wielding necro. I would like it to be power based, but everything I can think of revolves around bleeds and poisons, maybe even a fear, lol Also, a GS rev, called destroyer. A corrupter spec, that steals/corrupts boons, with short condi that hits really hard, so it kind of plays like a power, but revolves around condi. It could use symbols as an offense, or wells for ground target AoE.
  22. That's YOUR thing. It works for YOU. Your post, however, seems to say that no one else can have any other way to play, or have preferences that aren't involving keybinds. Granted, keybinds are simple to implement, but most folks who care about their gameplay want to just play the game howsoever the controls allow. The controls allow on-click. So some folks play on-click. The problem is that playing on-click means having that horrible skill description obscuring what you're doing most of the time. And sometimes, in the heat of battle, you lose your position sense and need to click skills (or something else) and your mouse rolls over things that pop-up in your way. Even if you don't click on skills to play, the skill descriptions will pop up in the middle of things if your mouse happens to go over them. So sticking to keybinds isn't a solution. The problem persists regardless of what style/preference one has. We shouldn't have to keep those skill descriptions active "on hover" all the time. A right-click on them is really all one needs, or an option to make it pop up only on right-click (making that the default) with no description on hover. Just change the event from on-hover to on-right-click in the code and call the same pop-up function. Make the left/right click on the arrow above the skill what you use to change the skill slot in the 6-10 slots, with a right-click on the skill itself providing the description that disappears on click or when you right-click on another skill. Then you don't need to go changing anything in the options UI at all. And while we're discussing clicking and cursors, I'd prefer if there was an option to keep the cursor visible at all times, because I tend to lose track of where it went when moving the camera/character. The mouse moves, but the cursor hides while the movement is happening and reappears where it disappeared, not where the thing would have been after moving the camera/character. This means I'm always losing the cursor because I can't see it when it disappears. If it stayed visible the entire time, even if it didn't move, it'd be easier to notice. I had to add Yolo Mouse to help see the thing, which makes it better, but it shouldn't be a problem in the first place. The cursor should never disappear (except when playing with no UI). If that's a suggestion for another place, I'll go toss it there, too. Wow man, I meant no offense to anyone, and I never implied everyone should do this. It is a fact that everyone that plays in the big tournaments for huge cash prizes don't click abilities. It is slower, it if that's your thing, do it up, I'm not here to tell anyone how to play. I simply offered up a very easy method of action play that requires very little movement over the keyboard. Also, I wrote that six and a half months ago, so I'm not sure why you are attacking me now.
  23. I've been saying the next expansion would be underwater since the announcement of the underwater combat update. I could see them giving elite specs one (maybe all) of their underwater weapons, with a different skill set, that can go on land and underwater, with the same skills.
  24. You just need to run through it a few times and remember where everything is. It is so rewarding when you complete it.
  25. I like the asura with horns that double his height. I've been using the PoF outfit from the CE on my sylvari revenant as I level him. He is black wood, with red detail, and he has on the black feather wings to make him look like a dark angel kind of character. It's very basic, and you dont see it used much, but I think it looks cool. I only wish you could see back items on the character screen. That is a huge part of the look I go for with my characters. It takes away from appearance without them.
