  3. They removed all those traits because of the PU blackwater mesmer build that was kittenous during core days...tho in this day and age we really could use those traits back.
  4. This build was made ages ago in PoF early days so its nothing new. Torch got nerfed multiple times and so did axe thats why people stop running it. A huge weakness to the build is if anyone tries to just simply avoid you or run away you have no way to catch or secure the kill as burn is no longer part of staff.

  6. At the end of the day Celestial stats can be used for roaming havoc and zerg play regardless of reasoning. It may not impact zerg play as much but it is destroying havoc and roaming which just incentivizes people to go in large group.

The only time when celestial is not BIS is if you are in an actual comp guild with a comp, people who band together in a zerg are more or less in celestial build because it is just an easy pick statline to choose from. Aside from a GvG guild or a guild specific comp most zergs are just a group of people banding together fighting other large mobs which is to counter your argument about "zerg play" because at the end of the day a roamer/havoc group can just go on a tag and call themselves zerging when in reality they are still using the same roaming/havoc build. There is no real "zerg play" its mostly a cmder tagging up and people grouping up on the tag.
  8. Most of not all builds can fully utilize it, and there are other forms of play instead of just zerging in WvW. Celestial stats benefit builds that have high might uptime and boons in general especially protection which these days almost all classes aside from core can generate. If you want to talk about zergs, a zerg with full celestial vS a zerg that the dps is all on full damage the zerg with full damage will die just as quick against a zerg that is simply running celestial. Being that firebrand can heavily benefit off celestial by providing high boon uptime burn damage and heals.
  9. The reason why celestial gears are so strong is because of concentration and expertise. With the surplus amount of boons and might classes that can simply provide for themselves this increases both power and condi damage and with expertise prolongs the duration of not only damaging conditions but debilitating condis as well. This is why celestial stats are so strong right now. If they remove concentration and expertise most of the current builds that abuse it will not be nearly as effective. Concentration is strong because it provides duration for protection, which means classes are more tanky on top of the already semi-tanky stats that Celestial provides. With the game nerfing boonstrips/corruption, they are only making celestial stats stronger and stronger. Classes that can simply put debuff on auto, there isn't enough cleanse to cycle through it.
  10. Im curious to see what the stats are for people running celestial in WvW. You know because its not OP or anything. With the new weapons promoting both condi and power gameplay just curious what is the % of celestial users in WvW, pretty sure its higher then 75%.
  11. There are a couple of classes that can "one shot" with less buttons to press. First off any good players will easily dodge one shots from Mesmer ESPECIALLY Virtuoso when the projectiles are that slow and openly visible. Second the term "one shot" has been used sooo many times that it lost its true meaning. One shot would be release deadeye with death judgement, or pre-nerf backstab, or even ranger rapid fire. Third, ANY class can "one shot" multiple targets when landing multiple skills in succession, just to name easier ones pretty much the whole line of guardian class and revs. Lastly, In order for a Mesmer to "one shot" it has to pretty much put all their skills on CD which makes them susceptible to attacks, Mesmers are kamikaze, if they miss the kill they will be killed shortly because they blew all their CD for the kill unlike other classes who can do the same and still have survivability to run away from. Playing a glass cannon build is high risk high reward this is especially relevent to Mesmer class because our CDs are naturally high, unlike the current boonball meta with celestial gears. This isn't bad design, Virtuoso/Mesmer in general is already a handicap for players to dodge a burst, there are clear tells of when a Mesmer is going to burst, again players are too ignorant to learn the class, ANY Mesmer main will not have any issues with a "one shot". To claim that you are a "former" Mesmer player and that you don't even know these basic facts is quite telling what kinda player you were.

The reason why Virutoso seems so much stronger in open world right now is because of its passive healing on bleeds which isnt much but also the fact that you use the Healing Signet which activates per blade spawn, considering the amount of blades you can spam it is not hard to get health back.
  14. I dont know what this video as a jab that mesmer is op or what but there are other classes that can spike just as high if not higher without a clone and just weapon skills and its on multiple units.
  15. Any devs that were passionate about the job left the game because they could see the direction the game is heading. As I said when GW2 first was released they heavily focused on WvW being a unique feature and how the combat system was more dynamic. I still recall the days when dailies when you needed to do combos with your skills with combo fields etc. Now classes can just kitten out boons with a press of a button.
  16. In the competitive play I dont see Mirage mantle being used whatsoever, desert distortion is too good to pass up considering how much nerfs mirage got over the past years as well as our vigor uptime.
  17. As a mesmer main I have no clue why they decided to remove the block instead of removing the distortion. The identity of Virtuoso is blocking we already have a utility that acts like distortion for us. It was extremely annoying to fight Virtuoso with the distortion but prior to buffing it by giving it distortion I personally never had an issue killing virtuosos even when they had distortion as block ties into too many traits for Virtuoso then it does for distortion.
  18. Chrono you only need one in a zerg because gyros before the nerf offered more than what Chronos can. Wells are always kitten because you needed to be in it for the 2nd half of the effect to proc. If you want to talk about a class that can reach all modes that would be the Firebrand. If you want to talk about superior roaming capabilities thieves are much better at that sector. If you want to talk about healing, support tempest druids are better than what Mesmers can offer.
  19. I will say this again, ANYONE who knows how Mesmer work will never lose to one even with Mirage having 2nd dodge back in the days. I played necro and ele and I never had issues fighting condi mirage back when our 2 dodges functioned the way they did back before all the nerfs. Again it's because I main Mesmer. It is seriously a L2P issue rather than the class being OP. You can ask 99% of the people who are asking for Mesmer nerfs if they even play Mesmer for more than 20 hours and I can say that they would not have even touched Mesmer.

Have you not seen mirage ambush for dagger? there is condi tied into it meaning it will heavily benefit from celestial in a WvW standpoint and hybrid for spvp and the fact that it dazes and benefits from IH meaning your clones will also apply the condi as well...so i dont know what you are trying to say....
  21. A bulk of your damage in cvirtuoso is the bleed damage that comes from it not from the power damage, even pvirtuoso build is mostly off phantasm rotations and shatter not spamming dagger.
  22. It does no power damage what so ever and cvirtuoso benefits most from dagger which again is condi not power
  23. Let it be a full power weapon, I'm tired of condi damage being slotted everywhere making celestial set even more kittenous in WvW.
  24. Remember the reason why they nerfed phantasms and clones, they wanted to step away from the AI doing the work yet they have mech and untamed...great job ANET for slapping yourselves in the mouth...just say you are bias against Mesmers without saying you are bias against Mesmers.
