  1. False positivity has always been the bane of success. There should be no credit given to someone who is supposed to do their job but have every right to be criticized for doing their job wrong. As far as the leak goes, the whole staff fiasco is just a small part of the clear bias towards Mesmer class, proof is more or less on the patch notes. What they call "buffs" is returning what they have taken, the most recent Mantra "un-work" proved to be the case that the multis don't align to the tooltips as well not return our old multipliers back, they nerfed mantras because there as no cast time, but now they just gave back the cast time without returning the stuff they nerfed. It's just like how they nerfed everything when we had 2 dodges but took away our dodge without buffing back anything when we had 2 dodges. As far as returning the dodge to Mirage, it was spoken once nearly half a year ago and was never mentioned again. I don't understand how people can still blindly stand behind such negligence when the people whose JOB is to work on this game are not being held accountable.
  2. First off I don't know what you are talking about, I am very clear on how moderators work, I have not disclosed names nor was I specifically targeting someone. I simply made a comment that there are some who are ignorant and accepted these changes thinking it was a buff.
  3. Aegis will never be stronger then Superspeed this is a fact, even when dueling mobility is a huge factor whether it is to disengage or engage. This change was not only on Virtuoso but Mesmer as a whole. Not to mention if you need blink to effectively proc for Virtuoso you are clearly playing the game wrong. This is not a buff it is a nerf overall for Core, Chrono, and Mirage. Just stop while you are at it...it makes it less embarrassing.
  4. Truth be told bouncing blades had problems when they decided to add more bounces to it. Then as time goes as they do some dumb changes the skill itself became more wonky. I'm not sure if the devs who code these know what they are doing when doing balance changes but it seems everytime there is a balance change some other skills goes haywire.
  5. Can you imagine people who shall not be named think this was a buff because it now gives Aegis...The person who shall not be named also posted in many Mesmer threads defending this buff.

First off you will never use blink in a PvE scenario when you are mostly stacked when fighting bosses. 2nd Signets will always benefit more in PvE in the long run because you are not using aegis to get blades you are using bleed stacks/crits. 3rd this is also a terrible change because superspeed will always be better then aegis due to unblockable being a thing. Super speed ignores all combat cripples which allows you to disengage much faster then 1 aegis that can be popped with almost anything. Superspeed is the reason why FA eles are still a thing. Remove Superspeed from the Air traitline and you will see no one will bother going FA anymore. Half a year later and you are still posting nonsense when you don't understand Mesmer as a whole enough. Not just Mesmers the game in general.
  7. I just stopped playing the game in general. I was hoping to see some changes within the half of year that I left but it seems like the balance is still garbage with long time gaps in between. I don't know what frequent is in their dictionary but its most certainly not this. I had hopium but that is long gone.
  8. Its hilarious how there are so many confused emotes on those that are trying to give Mirage 2 dodges even with justified explanations. Needless to say there are people who still think Mirage is OP or they simply lack game knowledge. Its 2023 and people still have a hard time understanding Mesmer in general is beyond me.
  9. Here is the problem with Mantras on mesmer, the fact that mesmers dont have any real form of sustainable stability makes it extremely punishing to cast mantras. For those who say mesmer has stealth/distortion there are classes out there that can insta-cast or slotted traits to give similar if not better effects then what mesmer mantras can provide. Back then when Mantra's cast time were removed people were pissed due to traits not functioning properly because it required the mantras to cast, as well as bonus effects were gone. This does not mean people were happy with Mantras to begin with. Mesmer is a class that is easily punished especially at this state. Back then before the Mantra "rework" mesmers were in a better state then they are now. Again ANET this isn't a new game, this isn't beta testing where you decide to remove one thing at whim then decide to put it back couple years later. At this point you are just treating the game like a GW3 startup to see what works and what doesn't.
  10. 1. Mirage is a class that has a unique mechanic that is tied with our dodge and that is ambush. 2. Due to this Mirage is forced to either use it offensively or defensively in most cases its the latter rather then the former meaning we are losing out on damage. 3. Many of our traits ties to our dodges, Mesmer in whole requires dodges because of clone uptime, Mirage especially would want this more so then any other Mesmer specs due to its ambush mechanic being more of a passive playstyle rather then an active shatter like Chrono or Core. 4. The game was built upon 2 dodges. Mirage was made with the mindset of 2 dodges, look at vindicator for example, even with a class that was made with one dodge in the end was given 2 dodges because having one dodge is unreliable. 5. Due to vindicator made with the mindset of one dodge and now given 2 dodges, there is no excuse for a profession that is made with 2 dodges to stay with 1 dodge. 6. When we had 2 dodges they nerfed our vigor uptime, our damage, condi application and duration along with increased cooldown on weapons and utilities. For some reason decided to take away our dodge without reverting some of the nerfs. 7. Wasted resources, Mirage due to one dodge makes sigil of energy a waste of resource because we overcap the dodge bar, as well as it takes 8 seconds for our dodge to recharge with vigor and food buff. 8. Sigil of Energy is almost mandatory because of this making many of our builds extremely linear.
  11. This is not a buff, removing the CD reduction in itself is already bad in addition to the fact that superspeed holds more value then Aegis. Not to mention there are too many unblockable skills/traits that make Aegis ineffective compared to superspeed.

  13. I don't know if you pay enough attention to the patch notes but no this was not strictly a PvE patch as other classes got (PvE) and (PvP) changes. The fact that Mesmers did not specifically indicate in either PvP or PvE means the changes was for both modes. In which case I stand by what I said when I said the staff change is a direct nerf for competitive play. If you don't understand what that means please refrain from commenting further or quote me without understanding the full scope.
  14. What...? CMC has been part of the balance team for years, him being a lead or being a member of the team isn't going to change the results. Also this is a direct nerf to competitive play as clones are not as durable in competitive play then in PvE. This is also a nerf to some extent in PvE because staff mirage was terrible with trash mobs to begin with, now its even worse because you need to get 3 clones out to get max use of the said "buffs".
  15. Based on the majority feedback you guys clearly don't play the game enough to be qualified to be in the balance team. So this was just hyped up disappointment.
  16. If you are trying to get the dev on the good side it ain't happening. First off I don't know where you would bring core Mesmer, Mirage, and Virtuoso in a 15-30 man fight. Chrono at best you would want like 2 in a whole group. Perhaps with the firebrand changes that this might change but its doubtful. Distortion is only stupid on Virtuoso and this was voiced out but Chrono/ ONE DODGE Mirage still needed it. I don't understand where your post is coming from but today the buffs were to PvE on weapon damage which really means nothing and a nerf to Chrono csplit and Mirage staff output on competitive play which includes WvW. There has been no mentions of giving Mirage 2nd dodge OR FIXING Mirage axe interaction. Just stop with trying to kissing up to the devs.
  17. This maybe seen as a buff in PvE overall nerf in competitive play.
  18. Chaos Vortex: Clones using this skill will now grant the same boons in an area of effect around the mesmer instead of around the clones themselves. Reduced alacrity duration from 2.5 seconds to 1 second. Reduced might stacks from 8 to 2. I don't get what part of a buff this part is...perhaps my English isn't that great or I might be reading something wrong.

    This is a reason why you don't wish for more as a Mesmer main. Not only did they not mention Mirage getting a 2nd dodge back but instead of buffs we got nerfs on csplit considering it wasn't mentioned PvP or PvE this is probably going to affect both modes. To those Alacrity Mirage, your boons got reduced. So no real buffs perhaps some damage buffs in PvE but certainly nerfs in the competitive side. Im guessing distortion for both chrono and virtuoso is going to carry us till the next expansion.
  23. I hate to be "THAT" person but I don't want anymore new mesmer specs until they fix the current ones and have a direction on where mesmer is going to be or going.
  24. Mirage in PvE already has 2 dodges so I don't know what you are trying to say here. The return of 2 dodges has nothing to do with PvE. If anything the trade-offs would most likely be competitive play exclusive.
  25. I mean based on people's post its as clear as night and day for those who main mesmer and those who dabbed in mesmer and try to make comments on it. Again false positivity is worse then direct criticism.
