  1. Uhhh no. Having a population that is actually balanced with everyone else is "dragging you down". Going from full bandwaggon server + very high link to full + medium (as it should be). Now that you don't have twice the population as most servers, it's no longer easy KDR and perma T1. It's okay, it happens. Most players here have been around long enough to see plenty of bandwaggons and it was predictable. Nobody hates SBI. Nobody even cares lol. Like I said people have seen this pattern so many times now. Bandwaggon happens, server and link gets super stacked (because host server is full). Relinks happen and the bandwaggon's population is finally balanced. Bandwaggon moves on to the next flavor of the month server.
  2. It must be if you say it has no drawbacks. This by definition mean its best in slot and used by everyone, because why shouldnt it, its too good. I was talking about solo roaming. And yeah no drawbacks was bad wording. I still think Dire/TB are really unbalanced stat combos though. It's the best of both worlds and it makes for really boring fights.
  3. I don't really care about tank builds. It's more the cheese condi builds which are also tank because Dire/Trailblazer is too good with no drawbacks.

  5. I dunno. There’s a lot of loyalists in FC. well they were medium population and got bandwaggoned to very high, so I'm presuming way more bandwaggoners than loyalists.
  6. For this feeling you could go to EoTM where no one is defending and play the k-train. I'm more interested for the fights it would bring where people couldn't constantly run inside when things start to go wrong.
  7. It would be cool to see a week with no siege and no doors/walls. Yes you'd constantly lose objectives, but it would cut out a lot what I consider to be downtime (IMO. I know other people like the siege aspect).
  8. I agree simply because of 3rd floor catas in SMC. Way too effective at defending.

Inflating playtime is one part of it, yes, this is an MMO afterall, but compared to Raiding and PvP where you actually have to 'win' to progress, in WvW you get pips just for standing in a map and moving every few minutes so you don't get booted for AFK. All you need to do is maintain participation so you keep getting pips, and then you get your reward. And considering maintaining is as easy as attacking the walls of an enemy tower/keep with a Treb, or just tagging a downed enemy player that was fought by your team, it is possible to earn a full set of legendary armor by literally doing nothing of importance. That is why (I believe anyways) it takes the longest to complete in WvW as compared to the other two game modes. I didnt say it isnt easy, and difficulty is not the issue anyway.Then again in between all the activities the game has to offer it is mind boggling to me why the skirmish tracks reset after a week already. Obviously the best chest is the last one with approx 90 tickets in total, thats around as much as the first three grant together. If i play wvw every evening i can get all of them, even as a lvl 1 with a worst case minimum of three pips per tick, but most other activities will have to wait. (My evening schedule right now consists of 3 pvp matches, some minor achievements and fractal cms+dailies+recs.)Now i dont have to reach the last chest of course, i can just get as many as my time allows me to, but why has it to be so much more demanding to reach the last wvw chest compared to the pvps final chest for example? It would be better to let the track last longer with much more chests to open than what we have right now. That would make it less stressful and as a long term goal much more balanced.And if your guess is correct then it is even more questionable that i can do - as you say - literally nothing of importance to earn pips and so the drawback is that i have to play wvw much more concentrated or longer than anything else. Seems like really bad design to me.Its also a non-argument, saying that mmos generally have to artificially inflate playtime and therefor anything that consumes time is well designed. I have envoy and gwamm, both were fun to achieve. Even fractal god, which i am working on right now, is more exciting than keeping up participation by destroying walls, roaming back and forth inbetween locations in maps that almost always look the same anywhere you go or following the blob to mindlessly tag enemies that get overwhelmed by a bigger force. Its just not fun, and tbh i find it astounding (and admirable) that there are people who actually enjoy this game mode. Then just don't play it. You don't need to unlock everything in this game. It was added as a bonus for WvW players as well as a long-term goal for new players if they really wanted it. The best way to "farm" it is to just play the game. Sounds like you really hate WvW so just don't farm it.
  10. Your options are transfer or continue to wait. They haven't said much of anything about alliances so assume that you will have to wait a very long time. Also populations are usually updated only once a week on mondays, so that can save you some checking. I have seen a few exceptions, but it was usually to close servers, not open.
  11. Don't be "that guy". Sure, tap a keep if you have a group going for an objective and you want to delay the response. But don't be "that guy" who just sits on a map tapping a keep for hours.
  12. Thats basically what it is happening most of the time though. I think ocx players are quite spread out. maybe too much? Because its always ktraining and ktraining and ktraining. And its getting tiring. Is there a way to find a wvw tier with high ocx activity? don't really care what servers are in it. Pretty sure like 80% of the OCX population is on SoS. They singlehandedly caused that server to stay in T1 for so long while they probably have a below average population during NA time.

  14. From what I've seen, it seems like CL/IV are always together and they can easily reach 45. But yeah I was prob taking your comment too seriously.
  15. Never seen CL/IV/CTH? Their pugs never leave EBG but their guilds do (probably because they can't get into EB).
  16. How am I reading minds, pretty bloody obvious they have matched up SBI the server they play on with a high pop server, what am i dreaming up? The funniest part about this whole thread is the fact that you think they actually play WvW.
  17. Was their link even high when relinks happened or did it just get bandwaggoned after the fact? Also I was in SBI a long time ago for years, and I know which Anet person probably claimed that. They have been on SBI for years and it's just 1 person. If there was favoritism then it would have been happening for much longer. Take off the tin-foil hat.
  18. It's hard to tell what you even mean by match manipulation, because you haven't explained it at all. You just explained the punishment you want. Do you mean servers tanking? Do you mean stacking servers? Give us something here...

I understand so a player if a player is getting ganked (and just been dismounted by the lance or what-have-you), another player can't just run up to them with their own warclaw and make a speedy get away for the two of them leaving the ganker fiddling their fingers, but still 10s seems a bit harsh. Plus, the scenario I described is't too likely to happen. Push the wait time to 6-8s would be my suggestion if they aren't going to change how the buff is applied. They could just make it not work if you are already in combat
  20. Yeah most people have figured out the number they give you means nothing a lot of the time. I've been in comms with other people who had the same number as me countless times. Also really hope they can fix that bug where if you are in a loading screen while your queue pops, there's no way to get in and you have to re-queue. This even happened to me once recently without me even waypointing.
  21. Not true. Everything is killable with a group who places the overall group first and plays meta specs and joins voice comms. Well, when we reach blob size, none can kill us except when they get db or when we lag. What I mean is , it's rare to be beaten in blob fights. Those can also use dragon banners too Of course. And the counter is db too. When the counter to a busted thing is to bring more of them, then it's a problem. Then it just becomes banner wars which still favors the bigger blobs or ones that control more territory. Congrats! You solved nothing! But that's wvw. Numbers = the more of quality win. Quality is experience gear tactics banners siege situational niche, good ping and coms. In the end of the day, someone has to lose and there will be only one winner. Numbers are just a matter of population, which no one can really control. Banners being disproportionately busted and allowing for ridiculous snowballing for already winning servers is bad game design. We should be trying to create mechanics that allow for outnumbered groups to stand a chance without handing free win buttons to the already winning side. That just makes people leave and compounds the issue. +1. Don't forget you need decent map control to even have banners, so it can definitely favor the winning side more than the losing one.

That's a good joke, but not along with your sarcastic reply.If they actually counted the play hours, you would find collectively there is less play hours on somewhere like Deso, who used to be active due to being linked to a stacked server, after 5 guilds, yes 5 Guilds left the host server. Now activity on here is even lower compared to the Current stacked links, but that happens with this Current linking system and it's lack of population balance, due to a bad algorithm. From what I've seen, it just takes their algorithm a few weeks to adjust to population changes. So it's more likely population changes over a longer period of time than most people assume. I have seen exceptions to this where they have seemed to close some servers very quickly.
  23. Here's a clip with the DPS meter showing. A few things to note: Over 1 million damage in about 25 seconds. Pretty sure I surpassed PvE benchmarks on stationary golems, but I could be wrong.In this clip, the 3 skill does 70k damage in one use. Sure, I did have some damage buffs, but in a time when CC is supposed to do little to no damage, this is obviously completely out-of-whack. Do something Anet. I made a topic warning them this was going to happen before the competitive balance patch hit, and here we are months later and nothing has changed. edit: I forgot to mention I'm also pretty sure it lags the server out if you have enough people fighting and someone drops a banner 5. It has a really high target cap and all those damage calculations, condi applications to foes, and quickness application to allies.
  24. Unnecessary IMO. If you are on a class where you need to see your party's health, you should be in party view anyway.
