  1. ArenaNet, sucking out the fun of your builds one patch at a time. When was the last time you read the balance patch and thought "that's awesome"? Yea i don't remember either.Melee front-end wvw Soulbeast COULD have been a thing, all it really needed was to have Leader of the pack trait to give allies 80% - 100% of the shout effectiveness on them, 50% is too low to be effective. the GS change pretty much gutted that potential option into oblivion.Welp, time to bench my rangers at least my benched holo will have some company.
  2. how would you know that 99% of ranger players don't actively use the evade or play like it does not exist? i think you just pulled that out of your kitten lol It's a generalization based on my experience playing the game since beta. Don't take the number that seriously. What, do you think I was pretending to quote some imaginary analytics report or something? When i play these days (not much tbh) i mostly play wvw and i can say with absolute certainty that it's not pure RNG. Greatsword AA is amazing for cleaving under pressure. You downed a guy, one guy is starting to rez, some AoE is on you, another guy is trying to land skills on you. I can evade damage AND do damage, it's not RNG at that point, it's an active defense/offense mix. The new change would delete this option and replace it with a "meh" option. With the old option - Even if you don't land the 3rd AA you still get the evade and what's better is that you can use it twice before the AA resets granting you 2s of evade.New option - Get a tiny bit of endurance IF you land the hit.Every hit you evaded is damage you didn't take, saving a heal, saving condi clears. Even if it's "RNG" it's better to have it than not have it, imo.
  3. The build hasn't seen any dramatic changes so it's perfectly fine to use any of the mentioned setups for it. It's an open world build so you can tweak it to your liking.
  4. It's a visual bug that's been around since the big bang.
  5. I mean, the tankier you get, the less damage you should be doing, especially if it's consistent damage. It would be rather odd and sort of defeating the purpose if you have the current model, which is high sustainability, high damage. It's like being as tanky as the old scrapper with the damage of a power mesmer's burst. no thanks. again, the tankier you get, the lower your damage output should be. gotta tip the scales properly, else the imbalance will never equalize. The point is you would be doing even less damage when tanky. Few days back i fought a holo and did at best 2,2k autos with 2,9k power and 224% crit damage. It's understandable that people serious about wvw bring defenses, but rangers power scaling has always been trash compared to rev, holo, warrior, thief. Why don't we nerf warriors damage scaling for once. A class which has higher damage and higher sustain higher base healthpool/armor and mobility with the only drawback of not being able to stealth from time to time.

  7. @InsaneQR.7412I had the idea to put a totem as an elite. Manifest a large AoE Totem of Hydra. Enemies within the totems AoE periodically take damage and have soft-cc condition applied to them vuln 8s -> cripple 3s -> chill 2s -> immob 1s -> fear 0.5s and allies within range get healed for a small amount for every enemy damaged by the totem. Course you could further enhance totems and manifest abilities with traits.
  8. Had the idea of a Warden E-spec. This is just an idea "skeleton" if you will, not a complete breakdown. The main idea is that you use your pet as a far more refined, magical multipurpose instrument and not just as a dumb AI.Druid - low power, high support - lets you heal and support your team.Soulbeast - high power, low support - lets you become a powerhouse with some team supporting utility.Warden - high control, medium support - lets you control the battlefield, does fine on it's own, but better with team.Weapons - either a ranged spear weapon (javelin) with some melee skills perhaps or dual scepters.Mechanic - channel Melandru infused mists through your pet and your shared bond to unlock Manifest abilities.Visual effect - Similar to Goku going sayan mode, but just green for the duration.F5 - for 10 (cd of 15s) seconds your pet sheds it's physical form to become a powerful spirit essence for you to mold as you please. Gain new F1 to F4 abilities. Spirit essences abilities are linked to pet archetype similar to soulbeast. Beast mastery bonuses are applied to Spirit essence, F1 is considered a Beast ability and will trigger those traits. Wilting Strike gets 6s cooldown to prevent abusing the trait.F1 is basically the same for all pet type Spirit essence - manifest your pet at your target making them attack it (and nearby foes, up to 5 targets within a small range) for a short duration (like 3s) with quickness, at the end of the duration (or if canceled prematurely) the spirit manifestation explodes granting a "x" boon to nearby allies and "x" condition to enemies.F2 - archetype dependent - Manifest the spirit essence as an enlarged and enraged spirit charging to your targeted location, knocking back foes on it's path and applying cripple + condition. Deadly and Ferocious - Ferocious archetype apply 5 vuln stacks and have higher base damage, Deadly archetype applies 3 stacks of torment, and poison. Upon reaching the target destination enraged spirit leaves with a shout that damages and applies conditions to foes (vuln and bleed, poison) , boons to allies (fury and might respectively).Supportive - charges and blinds, leaves with a shout that heals allies and applies regen. Versatile - charges and chills, leaves with a shout that fears and applies resistance.Defensive - charges and immobilizes, leaves with a shout that clears condis and grants protection.Stout - charges and slows, leaves with a shout that taunts and applies stability.F3 - archetype dependent - Manifest a Fury at the target location that fires on your targeted foe alongside you for a period of time. Pulses boons, can be re-activated to swap places with it and stunbreak (short range of 900, it dies after 3s of swapping). Boon type, conditions applied and power coefficient depends on the pet archetype.F4 - dunno yet. That's just my idea, anyway. Dunno about the utility skills or weapon skills.
  9. Straight away i can tell you that "builds focused on pets" isn't a thing, it never has been good enough in pve and never will be without being fundamentally changed. That being said there is a old core-condi ranger build that used to be quite good at raids, i even encountered people complaining that it's too easy and you should be ashamed to play something this easy and have good results.Things have changed and i honestly don't know how effective it is now, but it's most likely not as bad as some other builds out there, so here it is http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNUQNAnfVjUqQNL2tCurAVLGKEKeAK9Ho/gh9q/EI3DgSk6bA-jBiAQB2UJYBOEAc4JA0l9HApyPIq+DAOBAAUfw6ABg39D8//38////LFAMLrA-eIt has it's own issues, but it works where condi damage is stackable (bossfights).
  10. Burst works, like you said. I played a full zerk soulbeast untill low plat 1 and could handle scrappers eventually. 100 to 0 bursts : One wolf pack - (quickening zephy if you're feeling generous) - Warhorn 5 and 4 - LB 4 then 2. Most scrappers spam their abilities with little to no consideration. Had a few quite funny games with this setup. By plat 2 i didn't encounter many scrappers, those who did show up could be ignored for the most part and then collapse on them once the rest of their team is on their butt. Competent Rev + Spellbreaker is a duo made to delete people, scrappers get cc'd into oblivion and bursted into non-existence.Another method is boon-corrupt scourges (the blood build i guess? im not exactly sure). Had a game with 2 scrappers on the enemy team and 3 scourges on mine. Scrappers didn't do much. One scourge was on patrol duty between close and mid at all times, if a scrapper came the scourge would engage on him, baiting out cooldowns and buying time, i'd then +1 and together we'd make short work of the scrapper. That being said a smart scrapper seeing 3 scourges would have brought more condi clear and not more cc. But as always it depends on many factors and it's easy to speculate.
  11. A reddit user had somewhat similar questions.I edited his build to this : http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAV4fnE8Cd8il8CO8Cs8iFDBLv62dDvNdgUXVjJAM6KdTIF-jByBQBxUJ4FuIAMd/BA8AA2nuhFq+jFOCAbU5HpAMTZF-eAnd today i was curious how well it does so i made a small preview video you can check out here : Maybe it helps to answer you questions regarding the damage, sustain etc.
  12. Whispers Shhh! This is not the place for reason, this is the land of emotionally fueled absurdity, blend in. Clears throat Ah yes! SB so OP, too much everything, perma stealth, 3 weapon sets, can swap in beast mode and out of beast mode with 4 pets to utilize every invuln/stealth, 30k auto attacks, Shroud even 360 no scoped a warrior through endure pain! The mad lad! Pliz nerf. /sarcasm Right?! Why should SLB be the first and only spec ever to get targeted by a lot of the community and "balanced" accordingly? It's funny when the popular classes are the OP offenders lol oh how the people change. And by balance it's:"Nerf it to the point where it doesn't have a single viable build so i can play what i like to play with less or nothing countering me/being an annoyance. If you do decide to 1v1 me than be prepared to get annihilated coz of mah superior skillz, but if you beat me than it's obvious to anyone that the class/buils is OP and there is nothing under the sun that can defeat it."Basically summarizes the whole ordeal with crying in the "pvp community" by low silver - mid gold tier players for years. This isn't new by any means, practically every class has faced this at some point and because of this emotionally filled absurdity i'm sort of glad Anet doesn't take these opinions into consideration for patches. In any case it was a nice chuckle, i'll get my back-piece done and for all i care this game mode can die. WvW is superior anyways. Ta ta!

  14. Druid pre-patch was bad and now it's worse. We didn't get anything that would justify the 20% pet stat nerf across the board. Do you feel like your pets with their crappy AI are surviving too long in wvw/pvp teamfights? now you have the added benefit of them dying quicker! The new glyphs are meh at best and overall druid is still trash.Sorry, if i sound bitter, but there was little reason to swap from SB to Druid and now there is even less incentive to do so.Outside from PvE raids and occasional fractal Druid is ineffective. It's annoying to fight one, but it wasn't hard to ignore it during team-fights entirely and then just focus it once it's the last one standing because it contributes fuck all.Druid probably has better mobility and selfish-survival in wvw/pvp, but as an actual support is bad, very bad. Maybe some Druid builds will pop up thanks to other classes/builds getting reworks, but i don't think druid will ever be as fun as it used to.
  15. While i do not like that it takes away our projectile hate i gotta say that right now it's really fun to run around with Kinetic battery and elexir U, the amount of quickness you get is really awesome.
  16. Hell what is this dragonhead? Is this your bow? Looks awesome This
  17. one of my rangers, this one hunts in wvw.
  18. Anything that makes us a viable power-dps i'm down for that.I think ranger has every other aspect covered besides that.
  19. Not the typical engi look, my sylvari was awakened by the pale tree during the cycle of night.Eventually, her curiosity landed her into the sights of the Order of whispers where she rose to the rank of Lightbringer. In the aftermath of Scarlet's attack on Lion's Arch she discovered the mists and after spending a lot of time discovering hidden secrets her appearance was altered. She'll return to Tyria every now and then, but mostly spends her time in the mists chasing secrets, unraveling the past and potentially saving the future.
  20. I killed him with my Deadeye on the first try O_oSure, he's a boss alright, but it wasn't all that difficult.
