  1. North America. Been going on since around 5:30 AM Central Standard Time.
  2. This is nothing more than Anet weeding out the players from the payers. Culling the herd.
  3. What did my Sylvari say when she woke up? "Come out the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs..."
  4. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Blow this thread up. Get Anet on this.
  5. Just ate a hard disconnect in EotM. Can't access log in server. Can't log into game. Security and Account Settings pages wont load as well as other parts of the GW2 website. Net works fine everywhere else, youtube, facebook google.
  6. Not if enough people blow up the forums with images of the AFK'ers and botters. Post so much proof that Anet can't (in good conscience) ignore the problem.
  7. Get off your kitten and do something about this Anet. Either fix the spot where they can't farm, or permaban them. You're penalty system is a joke.
  8. Yup. IP: 35.172.60.131 Home Server: Tarnished Coast. Got off of work around 11:45pm CST. It's now 4:31 AM CST. Still getting put into this map, even from LA or EotN. Fix it.
  9. Engineers themselves are not OP. It's this cheese-dog rifle build that's causing the trouble. Rangers have to use #2 on longbow to get this attack speed. Necro's have to go Harbinger and use pistol #3 to get it. Core engi has to use a pistol poison to get it, and not all the shots will hit. This monkey brained auto attack spam is unbalanced compared to other classes. There's no cooldown whereas there is on other classes with a rapidfire attack. Why Anet didn't consider this beforehand is proof of their incompetence.
  10. If you're level 80 (necro or ranger) you can kill the mobs faster than they can get to you. If they manage to get to you, they can be finished off quickly. So it's not like you'll have rely completely on the pet to do everything. Rangers have the knockback on longbow and a leap back on the short bow. Necro's have fear on a staff as well as warhorn; just in case someone is worried about taking damage. The bulk of the damage done to a mob should have to come from the player, not the pet. This ensure that credit is given in a more accurate manner. I main a necro and ranger, so I know what it's like to have to manage pets. Key word being - manage. Manage meaning that someone is at the computer playing the game and not AFK farming. If a pet is able to one shot a mob, then it's up to Anet to adjust damage or synergies between player and pet, or adjust mob HP. (This would also be helpful in the older maps with players running elite specs from the other expansions. Power Creep. Uh oh, I said a bad thing there, lol.) The key to it all is to prevent pets from doing everything that allows the player to go AFK. The player should have to contribute to the kill to get loot, which is why I suggested about the damage threshold. Edit - Also in GW1, Anet introduced mobs that would stop a lot of the "you can't kill me" builds. One such of an instance was the 55 monk. Anet broke this build by putting mobs into groups that shattered or stripped enchantments and the player would get rightfully mowed down. The enchantments also had to be actively refreshed because they would expire after a few minutes. It stopped 55 monks from running into huge packs of mobs and just sitting there refreshing enchantments over and over and getting easy loot.
  11. 1.) Pet damage should never be enough to kill a mob by itself. The whole point of playing a ranger is to use the bow. (aka play the game.) 2.) Just because a person has a pet doesn't mean they shouldn't have to take a hit. Unless a player is doing something that's not really supposed to be done (like solo'ing champs) it's okay to take a hit from normal mobs. In addition, if a player can't kill the mob from range, weapon swap to melee and finish it off. Don't hide behind the pet all the time. Otherwise, don't even bother playing the game. 3.) Pet's taunt, shoot the mob first then let the pet taunt and get aggro. This also means play the game.
  12. Fixing AFK farming is easy. Back in WoW, if you didn't do enough damage to a mob, you didn't get loot. Do the same thing here. If the player doesn't do a certain amount of damage to a mob, (we'll say 50%) they don't credit for the kill and they get no loot. This removes minions and pets from doing all of the work and the player reaping the rewards. It will force the player to actually do some kind of work. Auto attacking won't do anything, because the person will have to physically target the mob first to start attacking to let auto attack continue.
  13. Second that. I've been on teams lately with 2 mechs. I just ran around and cleaned up. Biggest carry I've ever had.
  14. Not a skill issue, just one dropping down and unloading everything and dead. Love to see you make some vids where you trounce mech engi's. 😉
  15. Get stunlocked from 100 to 0 in about 3 seconds then come back crying about engineer. If anything, they need nerfed into the ground. Eat the facking dirt.
  16. Anet said a long time ago that role playing a "niche thing" and to spend much time on it would take away from adding general content to game itself. In Anet terms that means - "We don't care because we can't make money off of it." There have been a lot of threads from role players asking for simple things to make the role playing experience better, such as being able to sit in chairs. Took them 7 years to get on that one. We've asked for them to make more houses open and they literally slapped us in the face by closing off houses that were previously opened Ones that you could go in and explore. We can decorate guild halls, but we can't decorate our home instance, or at the very least, move things around. To add another nail in the coffin, Anet's definition of role playing doesn't match the ones that we role players adhere too. There was a video on youtube with several people deliberately trolling role players (lore based RP) by using the RP section in the LFG feature. There were people dressing up in modern clothes, jumping around and spamming legendary weapon activation sounds and doing stupid things like "I'm so and so the top hat maker!! Look at my top hat making skills!!" While RP'ers were actively trying to play out some simple story parts. Their opinion and answer to everything is get a group, go into a instance or raid and do it in private. Anet doesn't care. It's actually shocking because the game is an MMO - RPG (role playing game.) Our venue is just a dump category now for game developers that want to give us the FF7 big sword/shoulder syndrome.
  17. Here's what would happen. First, Anet would time gate it so hard that Christopher Lloyd would show up in the Delorean and stop you from making your post. It would also require you to do nearly every single game mode and obtain an item from each one. Strikes, fractals, PvP or WvW. You would need some items from world boss kills. Oh, and you'd have to do a quest to make a boss that's specific to this whole string of events to spawn. And you'd need a group to kill it. You'd also need to do a stupidly long and difficult jumping puzzle that would require paying an NPC to save your progress. You'd have to complete a collection too, and Anet would hinge part of it it on catching some stupid fish and/or perform an emote in the middle of a boss fight at a specific time and location. Like dancing in an AOE attack. And if you mess it up, you have to wait for a few hours for the boss to come back around. Part of it would require you reaching some nearly impossible location on the map - which you don't need the flying mount for, because you can technically do it with the Springer (It would just require a few days to peg the landings on 1 pixel sized platforms) Then when you get all of your items, you'd need to level a profession to 400 (at least) and craft an item in the presence of some NPC that's going to be there; but be bugged out or not be there at all due to a time of day conflict with your real life time. Then toss in a gold cost of 250 or something.
  18. Yeah, there are threads about this already, but the fire has to be restoked. Dungeons in this game are beyond horrible. 7 years and no bug fixes? Zerging through and skipping trash. Bosses are weaker than 5 hour old kittens. 3 expansions and not a new dungeon? I solo story modes with a cookie cutter build condi mechanist. Arena Net. - It's time someone told you this, from the heart. No trolling, no angst, no malice. Okay? You failed. You implemented Raids, Strikes, CM's, retuned fractals, and yet dungeons sit in this state of abysmal funk. Do you really like being compared to other MMO's? Do you like being told that other companies have done it better? Does it not bother you, as developers and so called gamers that your content has been skipped over, turned into speed clears and token farms? Make your own private server and run your dungeons with the elite specs from past expansions. Then say to yourself that dungeons are fine. Double dog dare. When my grandfather couldn't fix and repaint something, he'd throw it away. Get rid of dungeons or fix them (EDIT: Add some new ones.) Just do something.
  19. In the beginning it was Engineer. I saw so many players using a bleed/burn flamethrower and I wanted that power. By the time I leveled an Engi to 80, it had been nerfed so I went Necromancer. I've had mine for 7 years and through the nerfs and completely stupid ideas on behalf of Anet, I'm done with it.
  20. I'd like to see an invasion from the mists. With the Asura always tinkering around in the Fractals, Kralkatorrik opening rifts to eat magic, and the breaching of the god realm, it could have very well weakened the fabric of reality enough to allow demons and other monsters from the mists to invade Tyria. There could be some ancient evil that was banished there or something woke up from all of the disturbance and is now coming to bring it's business to us.
  21. This is just my ramble on the current posts. In Dungeons and Dragons, if you kill a god, you can take his portfolio. That being what he's the god of. That's what Kormir did when she ran into that big ball of power in the GW1 cut scene. She took his portfolio. Abaddon had a LOT in his portfolio. Magic, secrets, water and knowledge. Just to name a few. The more you have tucked under your belt, the more powerful you are. Not to mention it said that he got his powers from an older, deposed god, which could imply that he was the strongest of the original gods that came to Tyria. But there's something that makes Abaddon scarier than the other gods. His mastery over knowledge and magic. If anyone would know how to kill another god, it would be him. Plus, the gods are magical beings. It would be a bad idea to fight the god of magic head on with those two things up his sleeve. That's why the gods had the heroes do it. Abaddon was just too dangerous to let live while it might have been easier to strip Balthazar of his power, leave him in the mists vs an all out fight against the god of war and risking another big boom or several if another god died in the fight against him. As far as having the god of war replaced, I don't think that would be a feasible idea. Balthazar had already been stripped of his god powers. He was being powered by all of the magic in the Maguuma bloodstone. That was just magic. So it wasn't possible for someone to take his portfolio. If there is a new god of war, he or she would have been appointed and gifted his powers by the other gods.
  22. Here is also something that I think should be considered when regarding lore. When Zhaitan died, there were reports that the Risen started to change, and act different. That Tequatl started to change too. In Siren's Landing, we see Unchained Risen being coaxed into a bamboo cage by Sylvari through soft language and gentle treatment. That's certainly an indication of dragon minions changing. Now, we look at Braham and Ryland. When Jormag and Primordius died, they changed back to their normal forms. This leads me to believe that they weren't corrupted, but just empowered by the dragons. But what of Sylvari that fell to Mordremoth's whispers and influence when they betrayed the Pact in the beginning of the Maguuma campaign? Sylvari are dragon minions, but the corruption or influence wasn't "activated" until Mordremoth gave the word. Are we going to see changes in the altered Sylvari since Mordremoth is dead? And what of the Branded? Will we see changes in them too?
