  1. It would still be useless even if you could share equipment templates between characters. As explained by a dev (see my post above you), it would break equipment templates on characters the gear is removed from. After switching the gear back to a character you would have to re-equip the gear to save the template again anyway. From the sounds of things, the only benefit of sharing gear templates would be to transfer items between characters without having place it in the bank or account shared inventory slots first. That is assuming it doesn't completely break something in the game, which could be a reason why they weren't able to implement it.
  2. Yes there is. Dev posts on Reddit almost a month ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/dbhj8j/build_templates_coming_next_month/f21ugws/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/dbhj8j/build_templates_coming_next_month/f220ib2/
  3. Exactly. Most likely that player was aware that a lot of players are angry about the monetization and limitations with the upcoming official build templates and decided to lie about getting banned for using the ARC DPS build templates to make everyone even angrier. In other words, they threw gasoline on the fire along with a couple hand grenades for good measure as a way to get revenge for being banned. But, thinking about it...........over 5 dozen accounts linked to 1 player.......massive account sharing going on...........cheating like crazy in PvP............ Only logical conclusion: a bunch of lazy idiot PvP players payed real money for a service where the person you pay logs into your account and cheats at PvP to get your rank up for you. I have no sympathy for players like that. On the bright side, at least ArenaNet finally did something about those PvP bots everybody complains about.
  4. They went to ban a player for some pretty heaving cheating in PvP (among other bad stuff), and upon further inspection found over 5 dozen accounts linked to that player and took action on all of them. https://old.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/dka7hc/megathread_october_2019_ban_wave/f4lgjva/
  5. If the account has Path of Fire, the digital deluxe upgrade would most likely be listed in the 'Upgrades' section of the gem store. If you're not seeing the option at all then it's possible the account already had the deluxe or ultimate version added to it when you bought PoF. I don't know how to find out if your account has the deluxe or ultimate upgrades. You'd probably have to contact customer support and ask them. When I log into guildwars2.com and look at my account it only shows that I have HoT and PoF (and Guild Wars 1), but doesn't indicate that HoT was the deluxe and PoF was the ultimate that I had purchased.
  6. It was already released on Tuesday.https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/88856/game-update-notes-october-1-2019
  7. Do you enjoy with impossible achievements? It's not impossible. It's just put of most people's reach. Which is what most achievements SHOULD be. This misses the point. The achievement is part of the story meta, which has a large buffer and can be easily completed without this achievement. Not every story achievement is a part of the story meta. This achievement cannot be completed atm as there are not three copies of the required item on the tp rn. It is theoretically possible to complete the achievement bc it's rng, but not yet. Now given all that, what you think SHOULD be, doesn't matter. Consider what is. How does it make sense to include that achievement in the story meta under the existing conditions . . ? First off I'm not sure it works this way. If they say they doubled the odds of the box dropping I'm sure that's what they mean. I'm sure they've got someone there somewhere who can math . . . Second, the reason they added all those additional 'junk' items to the box is ppl complained about how unsatisfying it was to only get a single unid rare when opening the box and not hitting the jackpot. It's there to make the 'failed' rolls more rewarding . . . The inclusion of the keys is a little puzzling, but I'm guessing it's a response to players who felt the two-hour time commitment was too great for the reward. Putting the keys in the boxes drives prices down for ppl who want to purchase them, or lets ppl skip one of the metas the next day if they'd rather farm the keys themselves . . . I guess my brain went to mars on that one. I'll try to clarify so it kinda sorta makes some kinda sense. Before, if you rolled anything higher than common you'd get a rare or ultra rare item. But with the inclusion of the uncommon category - and it having a higher chance to drop than a rare - your chances to get an item from the rare category are decreased. If you do get an item from the rare category, your chances at the helmet are better. But overall, it's not much better than before. You'll most likely get an uncommon item than a rare if you get anything better than a common. 1 solution would be to give 1 recovered charr artifact from each meta event per day (per account if needed). The means to get them are very very small - 1 per day from the chest in the vault you open using the legion keys and you can only use the keys to open the vault once per day (not sure if it's per character or account daily for opening the vault with the keys), and from map complete. But for map complete you can't just create/delete new characters to farm them, unless you have a teleport to friend item (which requires you to be level 10 and has a 1 hour cooldown, and a friend to hang in the map or park an alt account). Aside from that the only other way is getting a few artifacts from a wvw/pvp reward track, but that reward track can only be completed once, and the track that replaces it after you complete it doesn't give any artifacts at all. So they could also add at least 1 recovered charr artifact to the Icebrood Saga Reward Track so that wvw/pvp players who don't PvE with us noobs have a better chance at the helmet. TL;DR The numbers are nowhere near an educated guess. I'm just trying to make a point. Before update: common 80%>rare 15%>ultra rare 5% After update: common 80%>uncommon 10%>rare 5%>ultra rare 5% The chances to get the helmet are increased if you get something from the rare category. But with the uncommon category being added, your chances to get anything from the rare category decreases, thus making the helmet still really hard to get. (And most of the items they added are just trash loot you can get dropped from monsters in the open world, or buy from karma vendors) I understand what you are saying, but there is no reason to believe it works that way. They could have just as easily taken the 'extra' chance for the visage box from the common share as taken the uncommon share from the rare share. Assuming that the common share must remain constant is arbitrary. What is even more likely is that the common item is a guaranteed drop and higher tier items have some chance of dropping in addition to, rather than in place of, the common items as this is how most of anet's lootboxes have worked in the past. The way the text sounds to me is that we are now getting four things from the vault chest: 1) the unid yellow 2) the 'charr-themed gear', either uncommon or rare 3) one of the four meta keys and 4) rolls at the higher tier gear . . . The bottom line is that we really have no idea of how it works, but anet does, and they stated that the chances of receiving the visage box have been doubled. That could mean they doubled the % chance of the box dropping, it could also mean that you now get two rolls at the box every time you open the vault, so you could theoretically get two boxes drop from a single chest. We just don't know . . . EDIT: All that said I do agree that 'doubling' the drop rate for this item in these circumstances seems like a somewhat ridiculous response, but anet has access to more data than we do . . .I'm just gonna agree with you and call it quits for this topic. I'm so confused right now.
  8. They can't be unlimited. People fail to realize that there's a lot of information in build/gear templates that have to be stored. It's the same reason why we can't have unlimited bag, bank, and material storage increases. They can increase the max amount of build/gear slots later (like they've done with everything else). I can understand people being disappointed with the amount of free slots we'll get. But it isn't reasonable to expect them to let us have as many as we want (free+gem store purchases). They have to store all the data somehow.

  10. It's deceptive. You've all been fooled into thinking they made it easier to get the helmet. They made you think they listened to feedback, but screwed us over at the same time. Before the update: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:K6Bsvh05TeAJ:https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/%2522Recovered%2522_Charr_Artifact+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-b-1-d (cached version of the wiki page for the "Recovered" Charr Artifact) Before the update the only items in the box were:Uncommon: piece of rare unidentified gearRare: a few named weapons and the Visage of the Khan-UrUltra rare: the infusion After the update: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/%22Recovered%22_Charr_ArtifactCommon: piece of rare unidentified gear, the 4 legion keys for opening the vault of Khan-Ur, and a whole bunch of carrion flame weaponsUncommon (new category): a whole bunch of carrion and legionnaire weaponsRare: still the same with the named weapons and the helmetUltra rare: same with just the infusion Before the update there was a total of 7 items in the "Recovered" Charr Artifact loot table. Now there's a total of 48 items! They kept it simple with it only containing new unique items (and a piece of rare unidentified gear) that players would actually want. Now it has a whole bunch of trash weapons you can buy for practically nothing on the trading post. And there was no need to add the legion keys to it because they are tradeable and are pretty cheap in the trading post. It doesn't matter if they increased the drop rate of the helmet. They made sure to add in a ton of garbage to make sure the drop rate stays relatively the same. More items means the chance to get the helmet go down because the game has to roll for everything when you open the box.
  11. Ah, thanks for the link and kudos to the person who created that page. My charr holo is currently living in Gothmar Valley as he really, really wants the Bloodbound title. This link will help him get the requisite dailies done. :) Oh, let me make sure I've got this right though - the marks used and the order to use them in changes every day, but the marks on the trees do not change. The same tree holds the same mark every day. Is that right? Sorry for the late reply. But that is correct. The marks on the trees are the same, but which marks and what order you activate the trees changes at daily reset. I believe what marks are available each day is the same for all players because I see guild banners placed at the 4 trees for the day that coincide with the marks I see on the table. In my experience, the first mark seems to always be the same exact tree while the next 3 marks are random each day.
  12. Not from that website! CDKeys is NOT an authorized retailer. You would risk your account being perma banned if you wound up with a fraudulent key. Proof can bee seen by the official Tybalt Leftpaw moderator on Reddit when players ask about that site. https://old.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/bzpfoz/is_cdkeys_legit/equs6p5/https://old.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/bmdv1f/worried_about_my_account_getting_banned_bought/emvu803/(As well as various Reddit threads where players got suspended or banned after buying the game from that website.) Please check the official retailers list to be safe. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/retailers/#UnitedStates-physical DL Gamer is an official retailer, and from what I've seen others say, they usually have pretty good deals.
  13. There's a guide on the wiki for it. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/A_Carved_Path
  14. Just to point out, it seems someone was kind enough to post a walkthrough on the wiki on how to get into Recon Cove, with a map that has the symbols marked. (Note: getting in there is how you do the Daily Grothmor Codebreaker achievement.) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/A_Carved_Path Keep in mind, if you leave Recon Cove and want to get back in, you'll have to interact with the trees in the correct order again. It seems they didn't make it so the area is unlocked until daily reset, allowing you to go in and out without having to mess with the trees each time.
  15. It is noted on the wiki that it was changed, but the devs didn't put it in the patch notes. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dragon_Crystal_Potion The change to the Dragon Crystal Potion was probably to bring it in line with all other types of slayer potions. None of the others increase attributes (power, precision, ferocity, etc.). https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Potion#Slayer_potions
  16. No DH builds now for some reason. About a week ago I was on metabattle and there were still at least 2 open world DH builds. For open world there are 2 firebrand and 1 core guardian builds now. http://metabattle.com/wiki/Guardian#open-world
  17. It is different, because it was never intended for ascended food to become super cheap to acquire. Therefore, it was unintended for people to be able to circumvent the daily planting by harvesting from other people's garden plots (and several per day, too). you couldnt farm several times. if you got a plant from spot 1 it was locked for youre acount that day. That's not the point. The point is, as long as you gather in a friend (or alt account) instance, your own herbs would still be there the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that ... so you could harvest them indefinitely without the need to replant. Invite your own guild to harvest daily, and you will generate a near unlimited supply from only one set of seeds. no i tested that. i planted herps, gatterd them at a friends home and than they where gone in my home. That's different. It's not about your home instance, it's about your friend's where you were gathering from. He could just not gather his seeds and let the entire guild farm it. As long as he didn't gather them himself, he would never have to replant ever. Infinite uses from one seed.Players with multiple accounts could do this for themselves. Don't gather on their main accounts and their alts could farm every day without every having to replant them. It's obvious that replanting the seeds every day was intended and players were bypassing this game design. Either with their own accounts or having friends or guild members gather for them.
  18. I agree that it was overhyped for something that could have just been posted in some dev blogs on the website. The marketing guy advertising websites to buy GW2 merchandise seemed out of place. The only thing I was disappointed about was no mention of new elite specializations. Not even to say if they're planning on eventually releasing new ones. Overall I'm pretty excited about the new content and remain hopeful they have a few surprises in store for us (like, maybe we will get new elite specs sometime during this saga, or something else players have wanted). I will say I think some players overreacted. I can understand people being disappointed, but the amount of abuse and anger toward the devs is uncalled for.
  19. Technically not a mini dungeon, I always liked the plate rooms in Thunderhead Keep. I'd like to see more of that in game, but without having to complete 2 meta events before you can enter it. Jumping puzzles? Sure. As long as they're not super long like the one in Draconis Mons.
  20. Why would we need it on other characters? Bank access. It's useful if you forget something like your quartz crystals to charge. And any character can use any crafting station to access the bank, material storage, and look at your wardrobe, even if you have no crafting professions at all. If anything, it would be nice to have the cooking station unlocked for the account for bank/material access as a reward for completing the collection achievement.
  21. I logged back in and got it finally. OMG! That glider is so fucking ugly! /vomit And the selection of gem store skins is small. No Scarelet gloves or shoulders (but I have them anyway), no Toxic gloves or shoulders (was hoping to choose 1 of those), and I'm sure a bunch of others. I chose the green glowing mask since I had all the others and none of the few other items I didn't have were desirable to me. So............it really wasn't worth worrying about. (the Vanguard title is nice though)
  22. I've only checked it on female Norn so far. The outfit seems to only have 3 dye channels. The black part on the boots won't change colors. For reference, the boots are exactly the same as the female Norn Common Clothing outfit, but that outfit has 4 dye channels and that part of the boots can change colors. The HoT outfit was free to claim int the gem store. When I retrieved it from the mail, I noticed the name of the item in my inventory was just a bunch of numbers and parenthesis. (right side of screenshot in the inventory window)
  23. No mail for me either. However, there is a free Heart of Thorns outfit in the gem store. Others were able to claim it also. Perhaps that outfit was suppose to be part of this veteran package and they got things mixed up and put it in the gem store by mistake?
  24. Apparently, ascended gear that lets you select stats also uses this new UI. It really confused me the other day. (I was under the impression the new stat selection UI was only for legendary gear, which I have none of.) I wanted to work on 1 of my characters and pulled some LW3 ascended trinkets out of my bank (which had the stats reset a while back). As usual I double-clicked the trinkets to select the stats but the items equipped on my character instead. I removed them and tried again and still they just equipped when double-clicking. I put my mouse over the ascended trinkets and the tooltip still says "Double-Click to select stats". I found I had to right-click the items and select "Customize" to get the stat selection to come up. For a couple of minutes I actually thought my LW3 trinkets were completely broken. I went to Bitterfrost Frontier and bought an ascended aquabreather from the unbound magic vendor for my character afterwards and found the same thing. I actually like the new stat selection UI. But, the first thing I noticed was the stats not being in alphabetical order and it drives me bonkers. The stat selection UI could use a search box so we can start to type in the name of the stat we want and it pops up. It would make things easier.
