  1. Can confirm that this one is fixed now. Just finished my 20/20 for Tower Purifier 2. 🙂
  2. There was a bug with the release so the bag slot increase did not go in as expected. The increase will be live with the Dec 13th patch.
  3. Six More Minutes to Knightfall also seems to be bugged for a great many people, and it seems to be linked to if you managed to get the old achievement back in the past. If you had that one, Six More Minutes doesn't seem to register correctly.
  4. There is no Local.dat file in either my main Guild Wars 2 folder or the Documents folder where all screenies etc. are stored. So I guess this solution isn't always applicable. EDIT: And before someone asks, yes, I have "Show Hidden Files" turned on. It's still not there. EDIT EDIT: Aha, finally found it! It's not actually in either of the above 2 folders, it's buried in a very obscure Windows directory. I'll delete it and test it out later today, hopefully. For others who might be trying to find it, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Local.dat will show you how to find it.
  5. Yep, another paid account unable to login right now. It's probably linked to the F2P account issues, as mentioned. Hang tight and wait for more information, everybody!
  6. Can confirm that this method worked for me too. I was in a party of 3 and all of us got it.
  7. SEA player here. The lag actually started the day before the patch, but it's majorly intensified since. It seems to be GW2 specific as I don't experience any issues with general web browsing or other online games.
  8. I'd prefer it if Nature Spirit could get its pulsing Stability back. They can remove the pulsing heal (it honestly heals too little to really make a difference in most fights anyway), and maybe have it pulse 3s of 1 stack of Stability every 5 seconds (so if you trait enough into BD, you can grant your sub-group a permanent stack of Stability similar to Mechanist). The tradeoff between choosing between Nature Spirit or Glyph of Equality would then be "do you need low, but constant Stability because the encounter is throwing small, but regular CC at you? Or do you need a big bunch of Stability because of a short window in which a lot of CC is thrown at you?"
  9. I would not be against giving access to the Everbloom infusion to a wider net of players, mostly due to two reasons: 1. Strike currency BADLY needs more profitable sinks. As it currently stands, once you've unlocked all of the skins you want, the only things left you can trade green crystals for are Mystic Coins, and if the market for those continues to drop, you'll wind up in a situation like what raids and fractals have where the primary currency you get for completing the content is mostly useless once you've been playing it for a while. Allowing players to sell their copies of the Everbloom (to prevent players from flooding the market, a fairly chunky gold cost like 500g can be added to the price) would provide them with another way to monetize their currency, thereby rewarding them for playing the mode they most enjoy. 2. While there is the option to buy the Everbloom from the super rare drops from CM strikes, its extremely small supply rate means that it's an easy target for market manipulators. I suspect the only reason it hasn't yet been 10k gold locked out of the standard TP is that the infusion itself is appealing to a more restricted audience. (AKA it's not one of the typical big, flashy, blinding supernova infusions that tends to be popular among regular players. It's much more subtle, and that usually doesn't interest players who want to show off.)
  10. If Emboldened bothers you that much, just don't join those groups (or form your own group and specify that you will not be using Emboldened). I don't have access to the numbers, but ANet's own post said that they were very pleased by the big jump of interest from new raiders after it got introduced, so I doubt they're going to remove it when raids as a whole BADLY needs new blood. Besides, the boost from Emboldened still doesn't help groups that are struggling with mechanics or encounter knowledge; more health and damage won't save you from things like Sabetha's Flame Wall, or touching Deimos' oils, or failing to push Tormented Dead in SH. It provides more of a safety net, but it's not some "insta-carry" magical solution as some seem to think it is. In fact, I'd actually advocate for Emboldened getting added to fracs and strikes as well. The overall take-up of endgame content by the majority of players is still worryingly small. On average only about 1/3 of GW2Efficiency players with EoD have completed ANY normal strike (Kaineng Overlook is higher at nearly 50%, no doubt because of the turtle req, but this does not tell us if they're doing strikes REGULARLY, which is what the game needs, or if they just did it once and never touched it again), which means that the wider playerbase is likely even smaller.
  11. Honestly I'd be in favour of removing Toughness tanking too, yeah. It was basically a quick and dirty solution for trying to create more roles in raids back when GW2's design largely revolved around a "we don't care what build you run" mantra. As time went on you can see their tanking mechanics became more complex and precise, with things like Fixated, or MO or SH's tanking mechanics. Using either of those two methods has one big benefit, which is that the player who picks up the tanking mechanic must know what they are doing. It promotes player knowledge/experience, rather than gearsets. (And in the case of Fixated, it means that EVERY player must know what to do if they are forced to become the tank, a goal which ANet seems to be leading towards with EoD strike design emphasizing that all players must be very familiar with the encounter mechanics.) At the same time though, it would require more work on ANet's part, so I have low expectations that we'll see any major changes when the current system is "not broke, so why fix it?"
  12. I agree. 1600 is kinda steep for something that's fairly limited in how often you see it. Mind you though, I'm not against the general idea of custom Jade Bot skins; that's a worthy goal.
  13. Thanks for the update, and for sharing your reasoning behind the changes. Overall I think this is a good first few steps, although of course certain pain points still need to be addressed (most of which you already know of, like Warrior and some more love for the other Ele specs). I'm not sure if this might be imbalanced or not, but I would request that Nature Spirit (in addition to getting the bug that it no longer heals other spirits fixed) get one more buff. Make it so that it pulses Stability, similar to its old incarnation. Druid is in a fairly solid position right now, but I think giving the elite Stability as well would give it a rock-solid nudge to keeping it firmly on par with what Healbrand (no Alac and lower healing, but can provide Aegis and Stab) or HealMech (no Quickness and has to choose between giving Stability or other buffs, but deals more damage than Druid and the mech being the source of the buffs means the player can be off doing other mechanics while the mech stays behind to deal damage/give boons) can provide.
  14. Just chiming in to add that this bug happened to me too. I've finished Dungeon Frequenter 25 times, and Hobby Dungeon Explorer 55 times. I've also done Story mode and all the Explorable paths across my 5 mains, but none of them can purchase anything from the dungeon vendor, so something is definitely broken. I don't need dungeon rewards with any urgency at the moment so I'm not exactly inconvenienced by this, but I do hope that ANet implements a solution for the many veterans it seems this has happened to.
  15. Yeah, it's odd that not a single person seems to have found it this year so far. Either the location's been moved (quite unlikely given the amount of players scouring for it), or it's bugged (it disappeared with the update, or it's stuck in terrain somewhere.)
  16. Ooh, playable dragons sounds neat. 😄 I don't really have time for another MMO right now, but I'll keep that tidbit about Istaria in mind. For the case of Skritt, owing to their unusual method of intelligence, my guess is that instead of one Skritt, you're actually playing like a trio of Skritt all at once. (Imagine that Choya Pumpkin Gang, but it's Skritt.) It'd be insanely difficult to make art and animate for, but man, would that be something incredibly creative and unique.
  17. Tengu by a long shot, followed by Skritt, and then Naga. (I don't think there's been any fantasy RPG that's allowed you to play a snake-person. Various reptilian humanoids, yes, but none that actually have a snake lower body.)
  18. To add to this, the event to escort the Ritualists from Kropa Village to the Temple of the Dredge is frequently bugged too. Usually you can tell if it's bugged if you walk over to the temple and you see the 2 Ritualist adepts lying there dead on the ground (the Elder will be back at the village, but there's no option to start the event even though her dialogue suggests she's ready to start.) This is bad news because one of the Echovald mastery points is actually locked behind a successful completion of this event. (Luckily I grabbed it on a working map early on after EoD launch), but other players just arriving in Echovald might not be so lucky.
  19. Sadly I'm capped on guild slots (we need more guild slots, ANet!), otherwise if you're NA I'd join your guild and deposit mine for free. 😉
  20. I don't really have much to add that others haven't already said, but thank you for sharing your story. It was wonderful and inspirational to read. :) I'm glad that you're in a much better place now, and I hope that you and your family (both organic and digital) will have many more great and exciting adventures in Tyria and elsewhere!
  21. Alas, no. But on the bright side, I did catch a Googly-Eyed Squid without even trying while finishing Orrian Fisher yesterday. XD
  22. Harsh, but I agree. XD For romances in games to work/resonate, you REALLY need a writer who's good at capturing the specific beats and arcs of a love story. ANet's writing team is pretty decent, with occasional spots of greatness or even brilliance, but on the whole I'm not convinced they have the kind of writing range/experience to properly nail a romance story in-game.
