  1. Yeah. Especially the echovald wilds meta events. A gang war breaks out and Ayumi rallies allies to stop them. During the fight with the gangs one of their machines gets corrupted by void and everyone has to team up to fight it. After the event is done the gangs make peace to face the bigger threat. And you can talk to them after the meta to hear some more lore stuff that leads into the Jade sea.
  2. What elitists? Are there any left in the game at this point? There have been no new raids in over a 1000 days and no new Fractals in over 540 days. ArenaNet even went out of their way to make the encounters in the expansion work for everyone by doing the Story version, Strike Version and then the CM version of the Strike. It is unfortunate that the meta is to hard for people and that it blocks people from getting the mount. But it has always been like that. People just did not notice it because everything was easier before. The Siege Turtle needs Meta event completion, 1 additional meta event, 1 strike, 1 hard boss. The Roller Beetle needs Meta event completion, 1 Worldboss, 1 Legendary Ley-Line Anomaly, 1 Bounty, Alpha Beetle from Silverwastes, Toxic Spider from Kessex Hills and several other things around the world. The griffon needs Story completion, 1 meta event, 1 Legendary bounty and a lot of mapping for the relics and eggs. The Skyscale needs Story completion, 2 meta events, Hard mini dungeon/jumping puzzle, and a lot of mapping around the whole world.
  3. I got the kill on the 2nd of March after 1 failed attempt. Then I fully unlocked the Turtle the day after. I have not really used it for its intended purpose because I am mostly a solo player that does open world achievements. I ran around a bit on it and flew around. But if you don't play in a party then it is pretty useless 😛 I took a little look on gw2efficiency to see some concrete unlock numbers. gw2efficiency have data from 355,386 players. We don't know how many are alts or inactive players. But we can get some sense of things if we look at certain achievements. At least 92,123 people on gw2efficiency have bought the expansion and done the first mission. And of those people, 19-30% of people have done the Meta. The numbers don't match when looking at the 2 achievements for the meta. Not sure what is up with that. 27,503(29.8%) people have completed the meta before doing the last story mission. So 29.8% of the people have done the story up to the last story mission and then done the meta before facing the final boss in the instanced story fight. 17,943(19.47%) have completed the meta event. 19.47% of the 92,123 people that started the EoD expansion have completed the meta. 10,188(11%) people have fully unlocked their Turtle. So of the 92,123 people that started the expansion. Only 17,943-27,503(19-29.8%) have completed the meta. And of the people that have completed the meta only 10,188 have completed the achievement to unlock the Turtle. So around 37-56% of the people that have completed the meta have gone on to completing the Turtle achievement.
  4. Like it was when the episode released. After each step there was a 24 hour cooldown until you could do the next part. I did 1 step each day and I did not have a guide so it felt like a proper collection. I had to use the hints for each collection and really look around the map. I remember that it was really fun.
  5. Imagine unironically calling spirit shards useless.
  6. "The game is dying" They says while an expansion is currently being developed.
  7. People on this forum sometimes have some weird takes. But this one sure takes the cake. First of all, I don't think you know what mandatory means. Second of all. How it it a grind? It is a somewhat longish collection with clear steps what to do. Use a guide if you can't figure it out yourself. They removed the long time-gates. It used to be what? 22days or something? Now it is 3. And you can do it in 3 days if you have the currencies. And that brings up another point, The only thing that could be considered a grind in the past was the currencies but then they introduced the the eternal ice converter and you could get 1 maps worth of currency each day easily. But then even that was made easier to get. Each of the living world return achievements gives you a full stack of that maps currency. And it takes like 2 hour per map. It is basically a free mount at this point. Not sure how they can make it even easier to get. There is no required grinds in this game. There is not even gear progression. Are you really telling me that when the game asks you to put in barely an ounce of effort you have to run to the forum and complain about it?
  8. You could have just used the command line argument to disable it. -dx9
  9. Those fights against the facets are a good way to gradually introduce players to new mechanics that are then used to beat the final boss of the instance. You can't just remove them.
  10. That is correct. It has worked like that for over 6 years. This "Bug" is happening when people try to skip the story and just play the required missions thru the purple stars. The thing is that those are for completing the instanced achievements and not for progressing the story. The story is not finished until you leave the instance and talk to the asura. But you can't speak to the asura in open world because you have not done the open world part of the story up to that point.
  11. Ohh Wow. We really had completely opposite experiences it seems. I kept thinking as I ran thou it that it was so refreshing with some cool mechanics again and not just hit stuff until it dies. I really liked Season 2 😧 Sad to hear you did not enjoy it 😞 But on a positive note. Season 3 soon 😄
  12. There is nothing to fix. You do the missions and you get your achievements. It is not Anet's fault people are not completing the storymissions all the way thru and then claiming it is a bug when they get no achievement pop.
