  1. As i recall you hit him and then use the heart on him (special ability that pops up) then kill the things that pop out of him, repeat.
  2. Those things should always only have been visible while in combat.
  3. Indeed, but will there still be limits on dailies for the special currency? If that's gone so you can do all of them then you're gonna want to do everything every day to get all the currency out of it. Since im one that despises pvp in general id rather not end up completely shafted by such a change.
  4. My main worry about this is that it will be designed so that doing pvp dailies/weeklies will be required to get more than 33% out of this system. Other than that its probably fine.
  5. I know ill want this stuff even if it sucks just for the masteries. So I've already pre-purchased it. I do of course hope and expect the story to be relatively good and the added stuff to be cool and interesting as well.
  6. To get around the problem of the personal story i could see a requirement for race change actually being to have it completed. Then when you do the race change you just get to pick the choices from a list and its all set and the story remains completed but the choices are there in case they are used in the future.
  7. What i wonder is if we will be given a relic to match our currently equipped runes so we don't end up weaker until we get our hands on a new relic. I imagine them being extremely overpriced early on due to the demand of everyone needing them.
  8. Open World Legendary Armor: I dont really care here. It was inevitably going to happen eventually. Easier Skyscale: I assume they are making the skyscale integral to movement in this expansion so this makes sense. The alternative would have been to force everyone to buy the entirety of season 4 to get skyscales so they could even play the expansion. More Weapon Choices for All: Cool, this is going to open up some interesting build options. Runes and Relics: Not entirely sure about this one. It does seem to open for them to add a huge variety in relics as they add more gear. Which may be good or bad. If they add something like a ridiculously powerful relic and locks it behind challenge mode or equivalent as to push people into doing that stuff this is just going to be a way to add a gear treadmill. If the relics remain relatively easy to get it should potentially open up a lot of possibilities for builds. A new relic effect is likely to be more interesting than gear with another slightly altered stat layout after all. Time will tell how it turns out.
  9. I can also say that the glowing conduits on the dynamics exo suit appear dimmer than they did before. At least i think so.
  10. This does sound to me as expansions are just going to get released over time rather than all at once. Which is fine in my book at least. So as i see it we will get two maps at the start and then they continue to add on it for a year or so. Meaning the story will probably get held at various akin to what happens in FFXIV between expansions. So if someone wants to get the whole thing all at once they will have to wait for it all to be finished. What matters at the end is how much ends up being added in between expansions. If it includes multiple maps and such which end up making each finished expansion as big (or bigger) as they are now, then its pretty good.
  11. Id love to see either rifle or dual pistols myself. Especially the latter to try and make an elemental spellslinger loosely similar to the one that was in wildstar.
  12. My reason was that i wanted to try something different (And toss windows 11 in the bin) and the tinkering is something i usually find interesting. Lets you learn a /lot/ about how things work.
  13. As i understand d3dcompiler_47 is the one needed. Its used for the UI stuff of arcdps in dx11 mode as far as i recall. Gw2 itself ran fine under proton but if i installed arcdps it would crash when i launched it if it was in dx11 mode. I suppose proton may have added the d3d-extras stuff which includes d3dcompiler_47 since when i was poking around.
  14. Ah yes, its not a problem to install it. The problem was that the game instantly crashed when the arcdps dll file was present. I think the dx9 version worked fine though. However to be more specific to what needed to be done to fix it its basically to add something called d3d-extras, with the specific part that was needed is "d3dcompiler_47" since the dx11 version arcdps relies on that to run. This was not installed or activated by default in proton but it was included in lutris. I think you can add that via protontricks, but when i figured it out i had already swapped to lutris. Ill leave it here anyway in case someone in the future finds this post useful.
  15. Ah yes, this was handy when i jumped onto linux (Specifically garuda linux) myself a few months back. Though i ended up moving things to lutris as i couldn't get arcdps to work with proton under steam. But with wine-ge under lutris it works perfectly and runs about as well as it ever did on windows. Its probably possible to get it running under proton in steam as well, but i wasn't really sure how to enable dll features that were missing in the proton versions. It does crash after like 5-6 hours of being logged in, but I'm pretty sure that happens on windows as well.
  16. I kind of wonder what it really takes to have this meta complete reliably. Ive tried it a couple of times with random groups off of LFG but so far its been a 100% failure rate at the end of the final boss fight. I'm not too keen on trying it again since its over an hour long but i need to complete it for the turtle mount. A longer timer would help or something like the boss resetting so the group can try again immediately rather than having to wait for several hours to get back to the boss.
  17. Ah, damage attenuation. Warframe does this and its terrible since it turns the game from actually performing better to trying to find exploits and cheesy ways to bypass the scaling. Please don't add it here. Instead of trying to do the most DPS you'd likely have a meta where you have a DPS target for where the scaling and damage meet up with the quickest time to kill possible.
  18. Indeed, something like a swarm of mini golems could be the theme for the utility/elite skills.
  19. Id love to see some kind of super high tech energy weapon style like a megalaser staff.
  20. If you put a * after the emote (Like /salute *) it will wait for a couple of seconds and sync with others that do the same. A guild i used to run with used that all the time to do synchronized salutes. On the subject of this thread that kind of function would be useful and should be very easy to actually add as it's just a random number being spat out. Optimally it can be set by arguments as well similar to various discord bots. For example, you could type /roll 2d20 for the command to spit out two random numbers between 1 and 20.
  21. I could see them adding a couple of new weapons with some expansion and make them exclusive to whatever elite specs are added with that expansion. That would after all be a similar amount of work as designing an existing weapon with all new skills etc.
  22. Id say that a mechanist nerf is inevitable. My guess for what will be changed is that the mech will either end up time limited (Like it drops in and stays for 30 seconds before going on a 30 second cooldown. Perhaps with extra damage for ALL the tötalmegahelldeath while its active.) or have its autoattack damage nerfed into the ground. Probably with stuff being changed to increase player damage output to make it more difficult to play and actually force more of a choice between damage and utility.
  23. For this ill have to say mechanist right now. Super easy to play and does a lot of damage without needing to juggle kits etc. This lets it have a lot of utility on top of the damage and the mech tanks quite well if you're trying to solo stuff. Ill enjoy it while i can myself, but once the inevitable nerf of the mech itself comes down ill probably swap back to holosmith.
  24. I know about it, yes. There is also a work in progress wildstar private server around. But it has taken years for these to pop up since the games were shut down along with their studios.
  25. Seeing that arenanet is owned by ncsoft the likely scenario if they decide that they aren't bringing in enough profits is similar to what happened to wildstar and city of heroes. Basically the studio gets nuked from orbit on very short notice. Nothing comes out as open source (because there is no time) and ncsoft hordes the IP rights forever. Which means everything done in this game just goes poof. Some years down the line a private server that has been reverse engineered to work with the client will probably pop up. It will be extremely limited and kind of niche at that point as most people will have moved on to other games.
