  1. It will prevent individual alliances from being able to effectively dominate multiple time zones.
  2. I would love seeing a mix between a Sylvari and an Asura, would be funny to see a little walking cabbage We have them already: Choya. Don't let anyone fool you. It's from an unholy alliance of rougue Asurans and rebellious but not quite nightmare court Sylvari.
  3. Nah, Ben says he's got a fren. It's always "we"But I suppose it might be an imaginary one because he's allllll alone down in the Anet basement and it's scary down there. AND according to Xe(errrr) the spy he is there in a closet. So.... not sure how many people can fit in there...
  4. I bolded a specific part which I did about 2 weeks ago. Never did the portal spam before, I always entered using the WvW panel. After spamming "F" about 10 times my screen slowly went black and about 5 minutes later it slowly returned to normal. Has this always been this way or do I need to look if my key binds causes the "brightness" to change, lol? The screen will go black. That isn't new. I do 'f' then enter and alternate them to keep the screen from doing that. (I have the interact function bound to 'v')
  5. Ele main here: no stab. Mesmer focus pull is fine. The few times I get hit with it and it affects me significantly it was poor planning on my part. Leave it alone. (PS, I can't hear it either, Who cares. It's supposed to be chaotic.)
  6. About the visibility, it can actually be hidden if aimed below the wall, the focus is not rendered on the other side but it still pulls - there is of course an audio cue when this happens though [the pull that is]. Here is an example - I am standing a few steps down in Bravost, operating an ac that is at the top of the inner wall lip. Being a few steps down [i use the wall as a buffer for any pull attacks, meaning I should only be pulled up against it, the inner wall face], I should not be able to be pulled [due to the wall stopping me] but what happens is you get dragged to the top of the stairs and towards the edge of the outer wall lip face. This is just with one mes. Whether it is op or not, that is debatable but the fact is the pull is far reaching/strong [requires no los, goes through structures]. Could we have the same pull for engi/thief/guardian/etc in that case? Two mesmers: one gravity well, one focus pull. Can lift you right over the wall lol.
  7. Maybe someone will see this and start to understand the real causes of problems in WvW lol! Doubt it, but I still keep hoping almost six years later... The TS thing is good. Moan the whole time people needed on TS, never say what TS or channel, never give anyone any time to load up TS then de tag because 5 people aren't on TS. Then boast they aren't nice to anyone.Never had a gear check, although i'm sure some do. However I stick to roaming. Only got myself to blame and doesn't need TS. TS is a bad thing when many are not 'allowed in' and not for any abuses that have ever been done. Discord will take over from the massively abused and elitist TS Wait, who isn't 'allowed in' to teamspeak?Everyone is allowed to use it. ~ Kovu Nope, the owners of the channel can keep anyone out, even those who have never abused anyone. Just a fact that harms the game as much as any other ignored mechanic. And the 'owners' of a discord channel can keep you out as well. How is discord going to be different? I am not locked out of any DISCORD - I am locked out of TS. A very strong reason for GW2 having a channel for voice - no one could control it.Again... the 'owner' (founder of the discord channel) could still opt to keep you out. The difference is, TS cost someone to open and keep it open. Someone who paid for the right to limit people. You could have done the same but chose not to. With discord, you could start your own too. TS isn't the problem. Someone didn't want you in for whatever reason. The same possibility exists in discord. Neither GW1 or GW2 have an in game voice. And quite frankly, for lag reasons, I want that to stay as it is.

  9. No. But it would neuter the mobility of the classes that build for it. How many non thief and Mesmer classes use their swiftness options? Few to none because it hurts their class. Revamp all the swiftness and mobility options for thief, Mesmer etc, to more combat power or defense then maybe we could talk.
  10. Unless they are willing to rework all of the traits for mobility and the skills for mobility, I would have to say no.
  11. Send me a copy of that build. I assume you meant 30k health,, but yeah, send me that link. I exaggerate with 30 health and 4k armor but the problem is u can be a kitten tank and have kitten high condi damageFair enough! ( I never exaggerate :flushed: ). But @Oozo.7856 gave a reasonable facsimile of what you noted.., so even if you were exaggerating, it can be done. Like I noted above, it kind of helps to see what people likely would need to sacrifice to pull it off.
  12. Send me a copy of that build. I assume you meant 30k health,, but yeah, send me that link. Without really trying too hard (and never running anything like this): http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQJBLh4IZooWCyLwPHJAA-j1xCQBrY/BUqEsgq/AgTAQ90DcsHAQFV+FA4Aw93f/93fft/+7v/+7v/+7vvUATqTD-w You'd have over 2K condition damage with full condi stacks, just short of 30K health and would be pushing 3.8K armor with minions and condtions applied to enemy. So, he's exaggerating but not by too much. Pretty easy to have over 3K armor, around 30K health and 2K condition damage though.Cool. Thanks @Oozo.7856 Not sure I would run it, but looking at stats and how it impacts others is always helpful.
  13. Send me a copy of that build. I assume you meant 30k health,, but yeah, send me that link.
  14. Stop standing in the big bubble before spamming your skills maybe? First its not important if your in the bubble or not as an ele its about the other ppl your trying to support. Ele condi clear already lower end and requires a lot of investment of both a GM and many skills to make it viable applicant of reg. Where one class with out any condis of its own that made for power dmg and counter boons not boon application effect for some reason makes condis stronger as a means of counters to condi clears. It simply dose not fit the class of a spell braker and realty seems like an over sight on Anet end. That is what all these buffs and nerfs to condis boon healing classes etc.. its like anet just simply throw things at the wall and see what happen after the fact and then balance. The thing is ppl are going out of there way to apologize for the UP effect and OP effects painting a bad pic of what going on. Condis are still doing way too much dps and the counters of clears are weak even so much of a problem that though anet work has created more problems with condi by what they added in it means of effects spell winds of disenchantment stopping clears from boon application as well as making boons convent into powerful condis that simply get in the way of cleaning real dmg condi and other counter condis are left weaker as conversion of condis in them self are weaker then clears. What we have now is means of countering boons has become more condi dmg burst and means of condi "hard counters" are now more likely to help condi dmg classes. Thats like saying we shouldn't have blinds and blocks because of Cleansing Ire's cleanse on hit effect. It's called counterplay. Just because it is bad for your class does not mean there is a problem with the skill itself. WoD is very annoying to get trapped in, but that is the whole point, you are supposed to be vulnerable while inside and take more damage. Well no what we are talking about is support effect hitting other ppl that is different then self support or tankly support. There no other counter aoe effect like this in the game and it simply dose not fit the class that has it. If it was on a necro or a mez yes it would fit (maybe null field should stop boons) but on a class that only made to do power dmg it dose not sit right. A hard counter to condi is clears and resistances. A lot of ppl would say these are not true hard counters and there realty no hard counter to condis over all in gw2 (that what 3 years ish of buffing with no nerfs would do) but to take away these counters by stopping boon application or even convicting them into condis to cover over the dmg is taking it too far. Winds of disenchantment need to let you apply the boon for .1 sec to get the effect of application and nothing else and boon corruption needs to be much harder to get i would go as far as to say only a few skills should be boon corruption and what we have now should be simple boon strip. That is kind of what has happens with the means of countering condi. Condi it self has been getting nothing but buffs for the last 3 years? (i forget when they started to buff it but for the most part it has not stopped.) But actually the skill split and recent CL skill changes over the last 4-5 months have been centered on taking longer for condis to ramp up in the amount of damage, and at least one (and I thought 2) of the scourge shade skills was changed to a boon strip from a boon corrupt. Now that isn't to say it's enough, but it was a shift to the right direction. It also signaled that they were moving away from nerf hammers and towards more tweaks. But like most things, even tweaks will be called devastating by some, and huge buffs by others. Sadly last update of boon tables of corrupt was a major buff to condi classes over all. So much so that it comply removed a counter to condi from the game. All corrupt from necro but say 2 - 3 skills need to be boon strips. Any thing less then that your going to have significant problems. Boon corruption should be one of the rares effects in the game.It shouldn't be rare. BUT, the table does need tweaks. Stability and swiftness should both go to either cripple or chill. Not immobilize.

  16. That's not my conclusion - its my concern. What you do now on wvw is irrelevant to the concerns we are posting here - that wvw configuration won't exist under the new implementation. You still not really explaining how the restructuring is going to change how players already play the game. The restructuring is nothing more than glorified server links - linking a wider variety of smaller chunks of the population together onto a team. And hopefully allowing for better distributed coverage. If a player who is outside of a guild plays strongly, they will be let into a squad. And many tags will anyway. There are always going to be those (and it's their right to do it) that only want to run certain classes and builds and only want a certain number of players. I agree Chaba, it won't change anything about how the game is played.
  17. Why do you drawn an analogy between small sPvP teams where an entire team could enter a match together (not anymore) and essentially "force" out any hotjoins on that team with a World which will be composed of hotjoins plus allied players? @Chaba.5410 said:What? The Restructuring information says all Worlds will be composed of hotjoin pugs, guilds, and alliances. Are you agreeing with Eater of Peeps that a few Worlds will be like a full 5-man sPvP team without hotjoins and other Worlds will be only composed of hotjoin pugs? If you have something to say, you should say it directly instead of trying to be cryptic about it. I'd like to apologize for being cryptic, but I'm referencing a famous & well-know swordsman's teaching. Miyamoto Mushashi's Book of Five Rings....is a very literal documentation of his life's wisdom as a warrior. I hope I don't muddle up what Miyamoto Mushashi is saying below with my edits....but here goes: Know the small things & big things. How to win in large-scale applies to small-scale. Reverse can be said to be true. As Miyamoto Musashi tried to impart to his followers regarding "His Way" (Heiho). "You must research this well. " Strategy: "Heiho" is a word of Chinese derivation meaning military strategy. "Hei" means soldier and "Ho" meansmethod or form. So are you agreeing that a few Worlds will be like a full 5-man sPvP team without hotjoins and other Worlds will be only composed of hotjoin pugs? How is that possible when the stated design of Worlds under restructuring will not be the same as a full 5-man queuing sPvP team? Nor will it even be the same as a 3-man team queuing against a full 5-man pug team since all Worlds will be made up mixed.I expect he is advocating the idea he presented in the last forum iteration in which he was asked to stop posting it.
  18. And we have seen this 300v300v300 capable engine? Hmmm... With live animations, access to all skills...,, Hmm. I thought there hasn't even been a full beta test..,

Hope this helps to shed some light on this topic. I'd like to quote a famous swordsman. “Know the smallest things and the biggest things, the shallowest things and the deepest things. As if it were a straight road mapped out on the ground, the first book is called the Ground book.” Also, another good reference is "Crossing the Ford". "In strategy also it is important to "cross at a ford". Discern the enemy's capabilityand, knowing your own strong points, "cross the ford" at the advantageous place, as agood captain crosses a sea route. If you succeed in crossing at the best place, you maytake your ease. To cross at a ford means to attack the enemy's weak point, and to putyourself in an advantageous position. This is how to win in large-scale strategy. The spiritof crossing at a ford is necessary in both large — and small-scale strategy. You must research this well. If you have something to say, you should say it directly instead of trying to be cryptic about it. This new change is no differnt from season 1 of pvp. If someone is a pug and they want to play with good alliances? WHats to stop an individual from tanking their rating for 8 weeks so the following 8 weeks they get to play with good alliances? Or in the sense of an alliance, whats to stop an alliance from deliberately tanking their rating in order to fight against weaker alliances they can then trounce. How is this even a solution? They already tried this and it failed spectacularly in spvp. It's very different. There will be at most 2 alliances which will make up 40% of the 'world'. I.e. Based on your analogy: 2 out of 5 sPvP spots. The remainder will be made up of essentially HoT joins. The analogy doesn't work. It does work, If someone deliberately tanks their personal ranking, they will be placed on wvw maps in the next 8 weeks with the best alliances. Its theoretically possible that if you tank your personal wvw rating far enough, you might get to play with good alliances for the next 2-3 wvw matchup changes. This is what people did in spvp, to get an advantage, and it worked and anet was forced to change it.The post above this one from @Auri.1365 explains that placement will be based on play hours per the FAQs. There is no personal ranking system other than WvW ranks, which, in either case, would move the experienced PUGs into worlds with less successful Alliances if what you atebstating is used forMatchups. You can't tank your WvW ranks. You could tank play hours, but most vets don't want that. And let's, for arguments sake, say people do, you would get 8 weeks of that, but then they would be bumped for the next 8 weeks. Or they would try to join a guild in the Alliance, There will be ways to game the alliances, if people want to, much like the way people games the current system and the links. But it won't be to the detriment of PUGs any more than if the guilds.

  21. Why do you want to play with these people? I don't like socializing in a guild setting, I don't like people telling me what to do or how to play. I enjoy the familiarity that a server brings and playing with these players on the server but not socializing with them or having them tell me what to do or how to play. When you join a guild, they expect you to interact which I don't want to do, they also expect a ton of other rules, show up this time per week, make sure you rep our guild, respect our officers and guild members, don't say things we dont like ect. ect. ect. I don't want to adhere to this just to play a game mode and enjoy the comradere I have with players in the manner I have it, uninterrupted for the past 6 years in a game mode that should be open to everyone and not moderated or disrupted by the whims of a guild leader/officers or other individuals. I shouldn't have to adhere to these rules made up by a guild leader just to play with the few acquaintances I have made without being cast to the winds. I enjoy playing with other players, but not getting too close and certainly not socializing in a manner in which I am required to play nice and reign in my views on everything or else. An open game mode, and our capacity to enjoy a cohesive familiar environment that we have enjoyed for the last 6 years will now be dependent on our social skills and our desire to socialize, and I don't agree with this change. Again you are imposing your restriction on guilds and saying the change is bad because of it. Restrictions that the rest of us dont have, because we are already part of guilds in exactly the way you describe how you want them. This was was solved years ago with the update to the guild system. I am part of a community guild that I rarely rep (like once a week... maybe), that I rarely talk to and dont really interact with (I rarely join its guild raids as I am a roamer). And guess what - I am even an officer in the guild, lol. Its a community guild, its just there. Free guild missions. Chat if you want company, alert on things in WvW if you want to, whatever. The only rule is you get kicked after a couple months offline, because otherwise we hit the 500 cap. My main guild I run with every day and rep 99% of the time and is always on discord . Thats my choice. No self imposed restrictions. Yah and what if you day something they don't like, or bring a build they don't like, or don't adhere to everything they say? Now with the new system you'll be scattered to the winds. Seems like a pretty harsh punishment, and the guilds have too much power. No. You'll be in their world for the remainder of the 8 week matchup. If you are in a guild, then getting kicked from a guild happens. right and cast to the winds like I said, and all cohesion that you have left (your guild members) is lost and now its Eotm for you. compare that to now we have servers and a community, with this change, it will be the end of all community, and your sense of community will be dictated by the whims of a guild leader/officer, so like I said, they have too much power. Again. Why would you NEED to go to EOTM? And if you were that close knit with your guild, why would you get kicked out?

  23. Im quoting this so when/if Anet do that, and all them K-Train players then flood the WvW maps, to see if you come back complaining that you cant get past the Queues as "non" WvW players are taking your valuable slot on the server, Anet have already stripped nearly everything from it already due to the excessive QQing on the forums For my knowledge: what has been removed from EOTM that it had that hasn't been removed from WvW?

Thats my choice. No self imposed restrictions. Except the new superguilds wont be community guilds.. they will want to do what they do best now and that is dominate.. the power vacuum this will create will only heighten the need for less open community format to rigid rule of dominance and all the drama and tensions that will likely come with it... it does not matter if every 8 weeks the decks get shuffled, those guilds will always look to manipulate the rules once those power guilds are established otherwise what is the point of creating the guild if not to dominate as a guild each matchup. You think having 500 randoms every month is what they are looking to lead.. it will just mean that guilds/alliances will simply use the system to create superguild matchups, likely between themselves once they have all their alliances placed, leaders established and communication channels opened.. the rest will just have to feed off the leftovers. Maybe. And those superguilds will make up 20% of a world. That will definately allow them to control what that world does. It wont be 20% they will control much more all be it indirectly no matter how the world is reshuffled each matchup.. unless of course those superguilds will want to rebuild everything each matchup.. unlikely, they will look to manipulate the system and turning matchups into organised inhouse gvg runs is just one way. Each alliance is designed to be no more than 20% of the world Cap.

You think having 500 randoms every month is what they are looking to lead.. it will just mean that guilds/alliances will simply use the system to create superguild matchups, likely between themselves once they have all their alliances placed, leaders established and communication channels opened.. the rest will just have to feed off the leftovers.Maybe. And those superguilds will make up 20% of a world. That will definately allow them to control what that world does.
