  1. I am not saying that this was done. Corporations tend to get rid of specialists after some arbitrary period of time and than add those duties to someone else's work load. If the change doesn't produce a critical incident a specialist for that skill set is never hired again. Everyone just has to make do.
  2. It isn't that Anet needs to add more hairstyle diversity. There are plenty of hairstyles that are unpopular and rarely used. They need to add more varients of the already popular hairstyles. The reason we look around and keep seeing just a few hairstyles, is because those are the most popular hairstyles of each race. The question is how should they alter those most popular hairstyles to make varients? Perhaps swap the most popular norn and human styles and call those "new?" If cultural appreciation is out of the question, move some curls, highlights, accessories, and braids. For sylvari change the types of leaves but keep the general shape. Replace large broad leaves with thin pointed leaves, or the reverse, but keep the general outline. Asura probably need differently shaped accessories and differently placed highlights. I don't know about Charr. Just alter the most popular hair styles and add those varients.
  3. Lol if a guy came to your door claiming to be Arena net tech support would you actually grant him access to your computer? If the trouble is a faulty connection in the cables owned by your internet service provider, do you think Anet would be able to harass your isp into sending a repair truck to find and fix each faulty connection leading to your street? The isp would probably just block the calls and spam folder the emails. Then there is the miles of cable between your isp and the closest Anet server. Cable potentially spanning states, countries, or oceans. Anet can't legally touch any of it. They can only submit service requests to authorities who control those cables. What do you expect Anet to do to their servers that would overcome so much possible interference? For all we know your own internet service provider could be throttling your internet speed because you haven't subscribed to their premium internet package.
  4. you could use the makeover npc to see where you set your sliders on the character creation menu. Then logout and make a clone of your character. If you really like the name then re-name the first character and give the original name to the clone. That way you keep getting birthday gifts from your new storage mule and you can play the latest incarnation of your favorite appearance. The request is very niche so the solution isn't going to be straightforward and simple.
  5. Pfft. Anet proved that they can deal with flesh-tone dye. The leggings of the Elegant Canthan outfit nearly have their own dye channel. People did indeed dye the leggings in flesh-tones, on female models at least. Two weeks after the outfit released, the devs altered the female leggings by painting panties on them, sort of. That region of the outfit reacts to dyes differently. Some colors appear darker in the panty region, I did notice that beiges, peachy colors, and browns tend to make that area turn light grey. We are still quite able to make the legs of the leggings match our skin tones. The developers have the tools, naughty dye possibilities are not what is holding back swimsuits and such.
  6. Lol we were all new once. Some of us left and came back. Coming back was interesting. Learning the wardrobe system was a journey. All of my pvp equipment turned into items that I couldn't wear. Then I found out that the only skins I had unlocked were from the equipment currently in my possession. I had to scour the TP for the cheapest versions of all my old equipment. Town clothes had become tonics, the hats had become helmet skins. It all took time for me to resolve but it felt like exploration.
  7. If it helps I have heard his friends Liam O'Brian and Sam Reigel voicing a few npcs. I am not sure if Matt Mercer has voiced any of the monsters.
  8. Remember, originally there weren't going to be legendary relics at all. They only decided to add legandary relics because of the backlash from the nerfed runes and the underwhelming standard relics. The player base was so outraged Anet panicked. "We can make legendary relics! We can make better relics that you can use with your legendary relics! Please stop being mad!" Sure, the drip feed of new relics may have been planned from the start. I bet the company had to assign far more resources to relic development than they had originally intended. Of course the players would be told that the relic release schedule was planned this way from the beginning.
  9. It is quite frustrating. When people muster the courage to ask questions, they brace themselves as if expecting physical or verbal abuse. They also seem to lack initiative or imagination. No moving to the next logical step on their own, someone must prompt them each time. Damnit! Why am I old? I'm not supposed to be old yet! What is wrong with today's youth?
  10. Why do you want to baby-proof the wallet? This is the wallet, it stores currency. These colorful shapes that I have 0 of must be other currency that I have not earned yet. I guess if the player is a refugee from a mobile game, they may panic. I know mobile games love to tie progression to several currencies. They only have to stand in a capital city or Lion's Arch and ask about the unknown currency. They will be told that they can safely ignore the currencies that they don't know. Are younger people so afraid to ask questions? Are experimentation and research so terrible?
  11. I mean surely it will be fixed in time for the legendary relic release. Right? Right?
  12. So, what would +3 do for condition dps players? How about healers? Boon support?
  13. Why wouldn't you pick each that apply to you? I suppose if you checked every single box then it would be a null vote. (All preferences has the same net weight as no preferences.) I see no problem in saying "I like these two best in each section, and I don't really care about the others.
  14. Perhaps not. Many keep their gathering tools in shared inventory slots now. Simply make the legendary tools only reskin into tools that the player has already unlocked on their account. At that point legendary gathering tools become about freeing up three shared inventory slots. That and not having to equip and un equip them with each character change. We already know that some tools have faster gathering animations. Asthetic is the other incentive. I think people would be more likely to buy additional gathering tools if they also unlocked the same skin for a legendary version. That being said, I already have all the permanent gathering tools I need. I don't think I would bother jumping through the hoops that would be required to get a set for my armory.
  15. lol, you saw the sign on the door, popped your head in, told us that my premise was wrong, pitched a different solution, and then left? Thank you for your contribution to the discussion?
  16. so y'all are saying Op watched the wrong guide on youtube? It is a pity youtube got rid of dislikes.
  17. Before relics people were talking about legendary bags. It would be in the legendary armory, account wide, you would need to craft multiple bags if you wanted to equip more than one bag per character. Thirty-two slots and it could be any type of bag like invisible, container, equipment, ect. I don't know that the introduction of relics actually killed those discussions, but I haven't seen one since. I only bought equipment templates for fashion. If I wanted to play a different role I usually just switched to another character.
  18. Black lion chests are quite generous when compared to any lootbox found in mobile gaming or any lootbox from a Blizzard owned game. I am not saying that BLCs are good, I am saying that they are a lot better than lootboxes found in other games. I don't think anything in the black lion chest has a drop rate of .001% not even the permanent service contracts. I happen to have opened three permanent service contracts over the years. Then there are all of the service contracts listed on the TP. Those mobile games though: .01% and .001% drop rates are sheer insanity to attempt. It would be nice if Anet would put a little tab on the blc window to show the drop rates of each item. At the very least the mobile games are forced to show drop rates of loot box items ingame, somewhere. At least they were last time I played one.
  19. But you are spending keys if you have statuetts. Sure you can get lucky and get the uncommon 25 statuetts drop. The occasional extra statuett or 2 as a common drop. Some blc events have a second statuett as a guaranteed drop instead of an odd loot bag or a paint canister. We still have to spend some keys if we want to use statuetts. I suppose if you have several characters, the birthday boxes do have 2 statuetts each. So 30 characters could get you one free outfit a year. At that point you are paying for character slot expansions. Can you reach 30 toons on a single account?
  20. I opened a weapon skin first try then got the star sentinel twentyish tries later. I only remember that much because my last attempt at black lion chests were 70 chests of common items. Only common, no 5th item in any of those boxes. I got an uncommon item at the 71st chest and gave up. My luck was truly bad that session. Yeah, it is gambling. The bad thing is, it is always going to be my own fault. At least I can make the excuse that I am getting statuetts for later.
  21. Some mobs could grant themselves functionally unless boons. Like a mob that begins the battle with a weak version of regeneration. It would be something to corrupt, but easily out-damaged if the player didn't have boon stripping.
  22. Perhaps a nerf to that particular mob. I would still expect it to be grouped with other mobs, each budgeted around different abilities. An organized group is always going to outshine a solo player. I wonder how common two player teams are? In any case; a solo player does need to be able to defeat an enemy group, preferably before the map begins to respawn that group of mobs.
  23. I don't think that people who just want quick farming want to reduce powercreep. I can understand that farmers who stand very still for long periods of time may feel threatened by mobs that survive longer, or enemies who avoid danger.
  24. I am a bit confused. I didn't mean that every mob would have every skill at their disposal. I do expect mob actions to have cooldowns. No infinite dodging without pause or stun-locking for days. I would expect varied mobs within a group. Sure you may get stunned twice in a row by the only two dps in a monster group and one of your counterattacks may be foiled by aegis. But the other mobs will be healing each other, or blinding, or applying confusion. You would have time to breath, the mobs would be auto attacking while the cooldowns are active. Hell, the mobs don't even have to have that many skills individually. I didn't mean to imply that skills and AI would simply be added to current mobs as they are now. I would want the devs to put some thought into it. Give the mobs roles within a monster .... "Party?" Adjust the stats based on the role. I had thought that only the core maps shouldn't be upgraded, but HoT is difficult at times (the spawn rate there was a shock to me the first time) The PoF mobs are certainly easier to deal with compared to the HoT mobs. The aspect mechanic in LWs4 is different, but I think something could be added. If the devs do decide to gift intelligence to veteran, champion, legendary monsters; I think I would rather they just add support mobs with the improvements, rather than alter the elite monsters directly. Let the champ monsters spawn with two or three annoying little friends.
  25. I did suggest giving the mobs substandard versions of skills. Anet doesn't have to go crazy with the AI, if the AI must read inputs then the response it uses can be weakened to compensate. There should probably be support critters among the dps mobs. Such supports should avoid the player. A mob that won't attack or at most uses non damaging conditions would be at a steep disadvantage. Then the player has to decide which to kill kill first the supports or the dps.
