The thing about wvw is that it’s not like a dungeon or raid. You don’t go in and “complete “ anything. You simply play the mode with or without a group until you stop. Definitely you will get much more wxp if you run with a group that knows what they are doing though. 🙂

There was once a time when you had to get all the poi’s and vistas in wvw to complete the GoE. Be thankful you don’t have to do that anymore. That was my first introduction to wvw. Then I made some friends who helped me understand wvw. Now I pretty much live there. If you don’t mind dying and can figure out how to survive in there, it can actually be fun. Just gotta have a bit of tough skin.

Just curious. When I see multiple warriors drop the same banner... do these things stack, or it is a waste to have multiples of the same one placed close together?

lol…. Nobody is forced into any mode. There are legendaries available to all modes of the game. If I want one that’s available in pve only then yea I have to do pve. Same goes for wvw. It’s YOUR choice. You aren’t forced to do anything. roflmao Edit: I was wrong. You DO need GOB. My apologies.

I think it’s funny that so many people cry about Maguuma. They may be trollish but at least it’s entertainment. Overall I used to play every night and now I play once or twice a week, simply because it’s become boring. Organized fights are, imo, just annoying. It’s much more fun these days to pug and just roam around. By fun I mean it’s marginally better than the alternative in the real world doing something thrilling like watching tv.

Come on now. With all the balance patches wvw has had since launch it is definitely over balanced. So much so that it’s tipping over. Welcome to; “Stop dreaming, we will never get there” land. 😏

Seriously this is not a common thing. Plus, if you have a power beast like my soulbeast ranger you can take a camp down often before the swords appear. Get experience, get help on builds, nukem. Most of all, if you’re new then simply get help understanding the nuances of wvw ect. It’s not at terrible as all that… or maybe I’m just too xp to realize it is?

They might not be waiting in ambush. They might be watching the map and protecting their land. With experience you can watch the map and notice the direction other roamers are going much of the time. I do things like this on my own homeland. We can see someone is heading to a camp or that the camp has swords and we rush there and clean up whoever is there if we can. I’m 65, fyi, and very hard to kill most of the time. experience is one key, and getting hints from other players is another one. Having said all that, I do know there are some camps that people like to sit at… Mostly North Camp , maybe camps near enemy spawn but really is mostly north, and sometimes ne camp.

If you actually want to “win” a match then get a big group and run around taking all the structures you can and work at keeping them. That’s where most of the points come from. The people out there fighting don’t care about winning the matches as much as they care about winning the fight that’s right in front of them. Winning matches means nothing worth stressing about in the current wvw. Maybe alliances will be different? Time will tell.

“Winning” really means nothing in the current wvw. For the fight groups it’s about finding fights. For the roamers and havoc groups it’s about messing with the enemies stuff. Double teaming may happen here and there but it’s not as terrible as some would have us believe and frankly it’s really a non-issue after all is said and done.

I see the guy there. Never noticed him before. It’s possible that he talked to the guy but then he always tells me when he’s played a trick on me. In this case he says nope. But I have my doubts now 🤔😏

hmmmm. Maybe it’s getting turned on magically ? Because we never selected that. Will have to look next time I’m in. Simply put, we would fight. After a few fights he and only he would become invulnerable without leaving the arena.

nope …. I can kill him in one fight then every fight after that I can’t. No option selected for any sort of invul.

I was duelling with someone in my guild hall a few days ago when suddenly he would get down to 1% health then take NO more damage. He could stand there and let me load up all my burst and pound him and still no damage. This is definitely a bug. I know he’s not hacking because it’s my alt account that I gave to my grandson. 😏
