Squishy? Yes. Bad? Depends on the player. I've been maining thief since launch and it is definitely in a weird spot, but it is far from bad. The mobility coupled with the mind games of stealth makes thief a strong contribution to almost any team. Thief is a finisher in sPvP. We move quickly and end fights by being the extra man in the fight and killing one of the enemy targets, then we're off to do other things. If you can't see the value of having a thief on your team you haven't met a good thief yet, or you are just salty you got destroyed by one 🙄

We get a new 2 person mount. Could they have done this in a LW patch? Yes, but they decided to throw it into the expansion, which is a good thing. Skiff: Not the same as the skimmer, unless you can have 4 people on your skimmer going on a fishing trip? Fishing: This is completely new content which they also make available in all old zones. This probably required quite a bit of coding and designing to do. Fishing is something I've always wanted, so I am super hyped for this. Elite specializations: Yes, this is one of the bigger elements. 9 completely new specs to enjoy. I haven't played all the ones from HoT or PoF yet, so I'm guessing I got tons of content waiting. And that's not all they have for us! Let's not forget that we get new zones with new NPCs, new fauna, new systems, new mobs(?), and everything else they create. We also get tons of story content and more upcoming LW seasons. Tons of new transmogs as well. We don't know everything yet. There's probably more goodies being revealed in the coming months.

As someone with over 6k hours in sPvP I can say that you won't be banned for botting unless that is what you do. I'm getting called a bot 10-15 times every gaming session I have. That's just people's response to losing. They're raging because they suck and won't accept that fact, so they blame it on "bots" instead. Kind of sad if you think about it. Honestly, don't be afraid of getting your account locked because some salty teenager decide to "insult" you by calling you a bot.

What’s next after exploring the world and doing the story content? * Get the Skyscale, the Griffon and the Rollerbeetle * Go into the achievement tab and find a fun achievement or a title you want to unlock * Start working on your legendary journey * Learn PvP * Roam WvW with friends * Unlock cosmetics and perks with map currencies * Explore dungeons * Go through fractals * Try a raid * Mount races * Learn how to fly the Griffon * Learn how to ride your Rollerbeetle * Master a few profession skills * Level a new profession and level it * Replay living story instances for achievements and see the other decisions you could have made That’s just what I had on top of my mind. There’s so much to do, see and explore 😄

Thief, and especially Daredevil is very viable in end-game content. The structured PvP (sPvP) is what you will find closest to arenas from WoW. In sPvP all gear is normalized as you use amulets to select your stats. This means that in sPvP everyone is on the same playing field. Skill is what matters as gear (ilvl) isn’t a thing. In World vs World your gear matters. You can get all gear pieces from all parts of the game. So play what content you enjoy and have fun 😊

Forgot to add the build. It's there now. Roam, decap and +1 yes. Pretty much the basic thief rotation for sPvP. I've been seeing a lot of success with it :)

What’s your thoughts on S/D DD in the current meta? I find it pretty good given the insane condition spam and burst that’s going on now. It is durable and can dish out a lot of damage. I also find people not knowing how to play against it as they’re too used to D/P or P/D in the current meta. Been having a lot of fun and success with it lately ? but you get 1stack back. what did i do? drop the other 24 while running away ? While the mechanic seems weird, it is still strong. Very strong if used after a boon burst.

You remove the entire stack. Removing 25 might stacks from your target in PvP is pretty darn good.

I love that aspect of the thief. That is also why I have sticked with my thief since day one. There's a level of skill and awareness that goes into the roaming role that I don't find anywhere else. I would however enjoy us being good at 1v1 again. We were supposed to be good duelers, but somehow Anet forgot about that...

I think they missed their mark with the Daredevil. I understand the reasoning for 600 range as they want the Daredevil to be a melee brawler that rely on evasion frames to survive. They need to do something to make the Daredevil a true brawling spec...

If you’ve fought the same person 100+ times it tends to get stale. I can understand why they just don’t bother as they A: know who will win before it starts or B: are tired of fighting each other.

Ricochet was my most beloved trait back in my P/D condition days. So much survivability and so much damage. Fighting rangers was hilarious :’D I’d really like to see it added back.

If you have a commander tag: apply it when you get the bounty. Then walk to the area where it spawns and create a group and write in map chat that you are going to engage it in X minutes. I did this and got about 15 people within the first minute. i don't waste 300 gold on an arrow, i have better things to do and not much gold to spend.Which is why I wrote: if you have a commander tag. You can still form a group and advertise it in the map chat and the group finder.

I did this and got about 15 people within the first minute. But he dont want to do that just join some other person who do that mate.Some are leaders and some a sheep. I myself are sometimes one sometimes the other.You don’t even need to lead. This was my first time doing it and it seemed like the others knew the mechanics, because we ended it with 4 minutes left on the clock.

Still bugged. Have tried pretty much everything. Now I can’t progress further on the roller beetle achievement either. How hasn’t this been fixed yet?!

Just did this today. Created a group and waited patiently in the area until I had enough players.

I'm currently running the 64bit client on a MacBook Pro Retina from mid 2012. It is running way better than on my windows partition on the same computer. Couldn't be happier tbh :smile:
