Will using Vindicator without using the Alliance be underwhelming ?

Like Herald without using Glint is not optimal, while using Renegade without Kalla isn't that weird

Do you think Vindicator will be more like Herald or Renegade in that point ?

On the contrary, it looks to me that WITH Alliance is the suboptimal choice. Greatsword has good potential, but the Alliance skills are... kinda eh?

I test vindicator with shiro /jalis  . Power build . It is possible to play 

not bad for pve  , it can survive very well.

 

for pvp. It has problem in energy management for dodge Coz shiro shadow step consume more energy (30) compare to vikter dodge (20)

. For healing, enchanted dagger give more hp , less energy consume, only 5 but cd 30 sec. ally use 10 energy each.

PvE pure dps build seems to be Jails/Shiro. Though open world will probably use alliance. PvP is more likely than not to use alliance.

I never jelled with the Alliance legend during the betas; if anything seemed weird and suboptimal, it was Alliance 😛.  The power dps build I plan to start out with will be using Shiro/Jalis.

   For PvE (at least OW PvE) The Alliance will be used, along Jalis mostly; due The Alliance provides quickness , fury and might, and without that the damage is screwed. That despite the Icon seems extracted from a Fisher Price toy...  But that doesn't means that the spec will be used, only that from the available choices, The Alliance seems half decent for PvE.

   For PvP/WvW it won't be used (and probably neither the whole spec).
