Slight correction, but the Aurene weapons were showcased first, then there was a bunch of blowback from the community, and later we were shown concept art of thematic variants. It wasn't stated either way whether the variants were intended all along or if they were a response to player feedback, so we may never know for sure unless someone's got a link that could clear it up.

@yoni.7015 Re: Giving skins and effects to existing legendaries. I'd be fine with that. I do recall ArenaNet saying it was a nightmare for them to make the transforming raid armor and that they are unlikely to do it again, but I have no issue with the idea of all legendary things having unique looks, especially now that some of them have toggles for their effects.

@Lan Deathrider.5910 Re: Aurene armor set w/variants. That sounds like a great idea, since OW is primarily all about the dragons (and eventually Aurene herself). Including variants for a set like this sounds like a lot of work, but if they had to pick a theme, your idea seems most fitting.

I'm not sold lol, they look terrible and they are all the same, no way i'd waste time or gold on those things even with the stat selection. GW2 lost the plot making these.. 3000+ gold for that haha please.
