Anyone else having difficulty in obtaining your 20 revives to get the Infusion for the Skyscale of Life?

What difficulty do you have?

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skyscale_of_Life

Just review any allies/dead npcs and so on and you should get that achievement done in to time.

If you go to The Shatterer then you should be able to find dead NPC laying around not far from where this boss spawn. Those NPCs die quite often here from all Branded creatures and respawn after some time, so it shouldn't be too hard to finish up this achievement. There are also other places like in Sparkfly Fen (scroll down to see event chains on that wiki page) and Orr that have plenty of events where there are dead NPCs. Don't forget those Risen ships where you also have dead bodies in water.

There are some food (and consumables) that make it faster to revive, so it might be something to look up if you find it too boring to revive NPCs or other players.

Online info gave us places like three different places in Crystal desert area, which there were many NPC'S.  We revived at least 30 and nothing....it states you need only 20 but BUG info that its actually only 15...just not sure if its bugging for me.

Have two characters that have finished soto and using one of them.....all others so far have worked except this one infusion

Update - travelling again to SOTO on the SOTO character and using all chat options regarding this collection with Skyscale Trainer Dyanne seems to have fixed it.

Thanks for this.  Felt like I had res'ed at least 50 pcs and npcs before I came across this thread.  Once I went back to Dyanne and started going through the chat options, I noticed the buff.

Unfortunately this didn't work....even went on the other SOTO char that has finished and it has the same thing..  Any other ideas or is a ticket the answer to this problem?.

I think someone said you had to be on the character who done soto story for it to count with the new collection.

Edit

I completed the Egg of Life on a character that didn't complete Soto story.  I just ran around Plains of Ashford and revived dead NPCs and got mine.

I couldn't finish it in wvw (would have been the fastest) with my char that finished SotO.

But doing event chains in Amnytas, like escorting Lyhr (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Escort_Lyhr_to_the_Great_Hall_so_he_can_rebalance_himself), got me quite a good amount of downstate players in the last event of the chain. Also a perfect place would be the Matriach/Wyvern champ on the first SotO map. Just ask in chat that you need help with it and ppl will come and you can rez them xD https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defeat_the_champion_wyvern at the Matriach's Nest POI [&BM0NAAA=]

But that infusion was also the one that lasted the longest. And I didn't have the counter on chars that didn't put a foot in SotO.

So are you saying its actually real players downed that you have to get instead of the NPC's??

Can someone explain this collection to me? I haven't found an egg yet or ticked it off in New Friend, but the egg infusion is progressing?

The way it has worked for me at least. The "A New Friend" collection.

1st - search through these abandoned skyscale nests in the new maps until I found an egg, then return to Skyscale trainer

2nd - upon returning egg, unlocked 3 new collections for "Skyscale Egg Infusions" (do stuff), "Skyscale Growing Comforts" (kill stuff) and "Skyscale Saddle Materials" (buy stuff)

3rd - train new Skyscale masteries to max level

Profit 😄

So, ive done the mastery and im partway through the infusions. Havent got the egg. Shouldnt the egg be found first?

And to clarify, the 3 collections in 2nd step did not unlock for me until I had found that egg and returned it to skyscale trainer Dyanne. So if yours is completing, you must have found an egg and been to talk to her and probably got it done without even realising.

Or something's bugged in Anet's code.... which of course would never happen!

Yeah, according to the collection, instructions and how it worked for me, I would've thought so.

Look up your "A New Friend" achievement collection; is the "Find an abandoned skyscale egg" objective completed?

Odd, then either they've stealth changed something here or it's a bug letting you complete the other stuff up front and you should just count yourself lucky because I had to run around rummaging through so many nests before I found the egg 😄

Prob a bug to be honest. I noticed it was tracking a world boss thing two weeks ago as well

About the reviving: It has to be on the same char on which you unlocked that part of the collection. It shows you an achievement tracker (gold crown buff) with a counter, but only after the first revive that counted. Not sure if it has to be players or if npcs count too - did it with a friend (I entered lava for him and died so he could revive over and over). Works both for fully dead reviving or just reviving from downed (also works with revival skills on downed).

I also noted that the world boss counter was acting weird on the tracker... I did 2 bosses, moved to Golem Mk II in Mt Maelstrom and it suddenly showed 4 and went to 5 after that kill, but it still didn't complete, so I went and did Claw of Jormag too and then it went back down to 3 and dinged complete as expected when Claw of Jormag died. Go figure! 😄

I think it only counted player revives for me, and not NPC ones. That may be a change from the original pre-SotO tasks, which are still the only ones shown in the wiki. It looks like there are now two different versions of the same Achievement: same name, different requirements, which could easily explain its bugginess.
