Quality-of-Life Requests and Suggestions (New for 2024)

Also would like to request a fully costumisable UI just like in GW1.

So we can shrink, expand, or totally hide certain things on screen.

For instance, I'd like to put the health pool in a form of a bar in the top left, together with the xp bar, and make them just big enough, that one can see.

Boosters, buffs, etc could be dragged to another corner, so it looks neater.

Most times we can't see half the buffs, because they go under the mini map.

Add food, utility buffs, armour, guild buff, and a xp or other, and you already can't see any other... sometimes very important buffs.

Support roles often feel this, especially in WvW, when they're trying to keep their soldiers alive.

 

I'm suprised this is still not a thing yet.

Please divide the contents of the General Options tab into about 3 tabs.

The general options tab in the options window has too many contents and lists.
I would like to divide this into 3 parts.

1. user interface
2.camera,
3. combat/movement
etc

Please allow me to express my emotions by clicking on icons, which I previously did through chat messages.

In 2012, it was common to express emotions through chat messages such as /cheer.
However, now in 2024, many games are introducing the method of clicking icons to express emotions.
The method of entering emote commands through chat messages is too old, and it is not known which emote can be used.

Please add weapone trailing effect infusion.

Various weapon skins have been added so far.

Some skins have a weapone trailing effect, but many skins do not have this effect.

I would like to add an infusion that can be customized separately.

You can also add trailing effects to existing weapons.

I really like the weapon skin, but there are so many cases where it is disappointing because there is no weapone trailing effect.

For example, I want to be able to use the Fractal weapon trail effect and Chaos weapon skin together.

I wish there was an option to adjust the font size of the damage number.

During battle, the damage numbers often obscure the screen.
Especially during battle, there are cases where the enemy's motion is obscured.
You can adjust the interface size in the Graphics tab in the options window.
But I wish I could display this a bit smaller.
In particular, classes with a lot of AOE skills have a hard time recognizing the battle situation.

When a successful attack is made, I would like the hit sound effect to be louder and audible regardless of distance.

I wish I could tell through the sound effect whether my attack hit or went off.
Currently, the success of the attack is confirmed only by the damage number font.
Especially in the case of long-distance attacks, the hitting sound effect is barely audible or has no hitting sound effect.
I would like to add hitting sound effects for ranged attacks or be able to hear them regardless of distance.
Also, in most cases, when attacking a large boss during a meta event, there is little or no hitting sound.
This slows down my judgment as to whether my attack was successful.

Some people are playing the game on mute
I think it's because the sound isn't giving them proper information.

Please add graphic effects and sound effects when my CC attack is successful or when I am stunned when receiving a CC attack.

There are skills and traits that gain additional effects when you stun an opponent through a CC attack, or gain additional effects when used on an enemy with CC.
Conversely, when you are stun by a CC skill, use a skill with the breaks stun effect to remove the stun.

To use the skills and systems of these games, quick judgment and situational awareness are important.

However, this is not expressed properly in the game screen and sound.
I've been doing it for a long time, so I'm familiar with it, but it's difficult for most people who are just starting out.

The only way I know I'm under CC is when I see the cooldown display on the skill bar and when I can't move.

This makes it difficult for players to properly perceive the combat situation.

I've heard this a lot from people who started playing this game before.
 “It’s actually fun, but it doesn’t look fun at first glance.”

Also, there's something I heard a lot when I recommended Guild Wars to people around me.
“It doesn’t look fun.”

Fun to watch is also very important when it comes to games.

Please add sound effects when nearby enemies or allies are down.
Also, when using the revive skill, graphic and sound effects are needed to inform allies of whether to use it or not.

In this game, winning or losing largely depends on what actions you take when your allies are down in pvp or wvw.

If the enemy is down, you must give a skill that deals large damage, use a finish, or use a skill with a finish effect.

Conversely, if an ally is down, you must use the revive skill.

This is a very important moment in PVP, WVW and some dungeons.
And revive and finish skills have long activation times and must be used quickly.

Although this is a very important moment, it is not easy to recognize it during battle.

Also, some classes can be moved when downed. Because of this, there is a problem where allies are out of range even if they use the revive skill at the right time.

To solve this problem, when an ally uses the revive skill, the skill range must be expressed through graphics and sound.

You must prevent rude and annoying players from putting things to interact with (such as portals, crafting stations, aviatory memory boxes, vendors etc.) on chests, NPCs and anything else that players have the right to interact with without being annoyed by stupid trolls. As there are areas where mounts or gliders cannot be used, there must be limits to the use of items in order to annoy other players.

Hello! I was just wondering if it was possible to eventually add the option to hide the name plate over the combat pets in Guild Wars 2. I was surprised I had the ability to remove every other nameplate in the game except for my favorite little guys. It would help with my screen clutter and also on a purely cosmetic level be great for my own personal immersion! Thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you have a great day!

ALTERNATIVE FOR THE WEEKLY BL Key
You need an alternative way to get the weekly Black Lion Key, different from having to create a character every week and redo your personal story. You could put a bunch of 5 achievements to do on low-level maps outside of the cities where the level 10 personal story takes place (Wayfarer Foothills, Caledon Farest, Metrica Province, Quennsdale, and Plains of Ashford). Once you have made 4 out of 5 achievements the player gets the key and for that week it can no longer be obtained by doing the personal story. Facilitating the acquisition of the weekly Key would also help the player who says he lives in a country where he cannot buy Black Lion Keys.

Some of these are for WvW, but others are general:

Get rid of the following WvW tactics - Healing Mists, Hardened Gates, Hardened Siege, and Autoturrets. When an objective hits T1 and T2, have the tactics autoslot if available on the guild that has the claim. I would argue that Siege Dampener can go away as well. If so, autoslot EWP and Presence of the Keep or Watchtower. Why? Because Healing Mists is a horrible tactic that makes little impact in a fight. Hardened Gates ONLY reduces non-siege damage to gates. Hardened Siege is not as good as Iron Guards.  Autoturrets is just bad. Siege Dampener is now pathetic and EWP is better, even for towers close to spawn.

Make the Bounty Hunter gear salvageable. Yes, I know you can probably Mystic Forge these things, but that's annoying. I'd rather get 4+ Globs of Ecto rather than MF 4 items into 1.

For the Desert Crafting Material Coffer,. either get rid of it or make it easier to clear out of inventory (I just destroy them if I have 10 or more sitting there). Can't be bothered opening the chest, clicking on Flax Fibers, then clicking "Ok" 10 times in a row).

When using the items to consume Bloodstone Dust (Herta), Dragonite Ore (Princess), and Empyreal Fragment (Star of Gratitude) - make it so the item you are going to gain on consumption is auto-selected, or revert back to the old process which was simply to double-click the item (Herta for example) and it consumes Bloodstone Dust.
Right now, you click on Herta, it opens a window, you have to select the one item as if it was a vendor, select the number you want to "purchase", then click OK. This is tedious.

Just give us the gold/silvers/coppers instead of giving us junk items we have to sell to a vendor. I really don't see the point of filling up my inventory with "Questionable Mine Claims" and "Globs of Globby Gloop". Or have an option that we can select that autosells this junk.

I agree its annoying to deal with these instances.  I feel like an easy solution would be to change the priority interactable objects, like change it so chests have highest priority.  This wouldn't solve the issue of multiple interactable objects being on the same location, but it would help greatly with a low impact on gameplay.

See if I wasn't locked into a specific game mode for my daily objectives and could instead have access to each game modes set of objectives like in the old daily system, I'd be more inclined to participate in the current pvp rush event, but since I dont want to change my objective preferences and lock myself out of the pve ones that I know I can complete rather than the pvp/wvw ones I may not be able to complete, I'll probably continue to avoid pvp rather than occasionally play a different game mode as I feel like it.

Couldn't you just spend 10 minutes doing PvE dailies, then do PvP or whatever else you want to do?

In the market interface, please allow creating buy orders for multiple stacks of items with a single click, and selling in bulk - to more than just the top listing, like instant buying currently works. I started to craft Eureka tonight, saw how many times I'd have to click to get mithril, wood, and claws from the TP, and just logged off. I don't have the energy to sit around clicking on a box for half an hour or more, dealing with rate limiting, etc. I've dealt with it before for larger purchases, but... I don't have the energy tonight.

If you want interface ideas, just have another box for "stacks" which we can type a number in.

You can always use the 'eye' icon so you don't have to open the Wizard's Vault repeatedly.

If you are looking at the game, you will see green numbers and HP bar filling. If you are looking at map, it will display "Noble soul is healing you"

A few suggestions:

1) Possibility to preview infusion effects

Fashion wars, cost thousands of gold, and impossible to preview. Why?

2) Add an official mount wheel

Available through an unofficial plugin, this feature is a game changer in terms of QoL. Too many shortcuts already for all the things we have (skills, tools, inventory, etc), make all mounts shortcuts tedious to use. And click on the tiny arrow icon to change mount is bad.

3) Rework LFG

Like really, the LFG has just too many sections, the vast majority is totally empty of players, it's a joke of a tool as of now.

1. New Mounts for WvW. 

Add a [New] Siege Devour (Huge Scorpion), and the Siege Turtle mounts to WvW; with capability to knock down walls and gates.

I think this would be amazing additions to the game, and liven up wvw 100% , making it a lot more fun.

Imagine having 2 or 3 siege mounts escorted and guarded by a horde of Warclaws, while they do their thing.

 

2. Visual (Skins) Mod support.

Add a Gem Store item, which allows us to mod purchased outfit, weapon skins, and other skins.

Price at your discretion, but I'd say 2,000 💎  is a good price.

People still need to buy the skins from gs in order to be modded. 

Give players a reason to buy skins from gs.

Win Win situation.

 

3. Main Hand Spears.

Please +Add the option to also use spears in main hand aswell as 2 handed.

It would be great to have this option.

Players love options. Give em options.

 

4. Official Controller/Gamepad support.

 

5. Optimised Graphics. Add a Stickman.

Option to be able to see a stickman in low end computers. 

Not being able to see your enemy in WvW with the lowest graphic settings is really counter productive. 

You have to use the lowest settings due to lag and low fps, and end up being killed all the time, because you cannot see your enemy. 

So the solution is to replace those unseen players with a stickman.

At least give you a chance to decide if you want to attempt to run away or fight to the end.

Why do the upgrades to the expansion have lvl 80 boosts and character slots. I have enough of those to manage and have little interest in more of these.  Can't we have a version of the upgrade without another one of these? 

 

Now I just buy the standard to avoid it, and miss out all the other cool extras.  Would be nice if we had a version without all the boosts and slots, or it's this a weird request.. 😆
