Devs, Can You Please Make a PvE Legendary Amulet

Why do we have to grind for God knows how long in PvP to get the Legendary Amulet???? I am woeful at PvP and hate it. It would take me forever and I honestly can't imagine anything worse than having to play PvP for months! Why are the devs forcing us to play that game mode if we want the Legendary Amulet???

They said they wanted to make a full set which we kind of already have rn. Given that strike missions seem to be the thing they want to put into the focus at the moment I'd say the season 5 legendary item is going to be something which heavily involves playing the strike missions. While I wouldn't mind an amulet I really want to see a continuation / upgrade of the runic set.

Those are there for the benefit of either PvE or WvW players that are only moonlighting in PvP, not for real PvP ones. You're right, of course, but I'm sure most "pure" pvp players (if any still exist) are wondering why they should care at all when they can freely change their Amulet's stats already. Getting it is something to do, I suppose.

That's true and we should also bear in mind that they will be adding 500 Jeweller at some point in the future too. I assume that will come with a full set of Legendary Trinkets. With different effects to the current set.

If you look at the effects of the amulet and ring put together, each a ball that represents the game mode. This doesn’t tie in to the standard aurora, vision, and coalescence trinket effects. My guess is that icebrood saga introduces a ring or amulet that expands the effects of the previous 3 pve trinkets, and then lw 6 after the next expansion will reveal the last one that finishes the effects of having all 5 pve trinkets. That makes the most sense to me. Having the pvp trinkets gives more options, which is a good thing. They may even make more legendary trinkets or armor available through fractals. I mean the game mode is already set up to add these things. It’s only a matter of time. It’s not all going to happen at once.

OP, just to provide you with some kind of time frame... it took me 13 days. And that was to make Transcendence.

It took 10 or 11 days to win 120 games in Ranked and make Slumbering Transcendence and then two more days, give or take, in the AT's to get 20 wins in there for Transcendence. And I'm no sPvP god. (I think I made it to Gold 2 for a brief instant and got pushed back down.... fast! :lol:) .

I did most of my playing in S2-G1. I play every class, so I went in with what I had the most comfort with regarding small scale fights - SoulB, DH, Warrior, and Reaper mostly. The sPvP players can be rather critical when expressing their displeasure :rage: , but I tried to learn from it, asking how to improve my game play and understanding of the game mode. In the end, it worked out and most days I had a BLAST! :smiley:

My primary game mode is WvW. So for about two weeks, instead of doing WvW, I dedicated that time to sPvP.

PS - you don't have to make Transcendence unless you want the shiny. Otherwise, just stop with the Slumbering version and call it done. And, remember -- just try to have FUN with it! :smile:

It is 60 hours of grind, which is comparable to all the other legendary trinkets. It just seem longer because you could not the 120 wins before hand. I used to think the same way until someone pointed out how many weeks of diamond chests it would take to get conflux. Think to yourself how long it takes to get a skyscale and Vision, specially getting 6 astral weapons. How long does it take to get 150 raid boss clears for Coalescence. Remember how long it takes to get The Wayfarer's Henge so you are get Aurora.Transendance suffers from only one problem, a lack of a bread trail. Every other legendary trinket has more steps and probably take longers, but people do not notice it.

Hmm ... at the matchmaker's target of 50/50 win/loss ratio 120 wins should take around 240 matches. At ~15minutes per match including queue time and waiting for people to click ready and doing it in 10 days is around 6 hours of PvP a day?

120 wins also takes care of the league tickets and ascended shardsShould be done with those by around 130 matches played if not sooner.

Slumbering is already legendary so the AT wins aren't even necessary for a legendary amulet.

It would be much easier to muddle your way through 240 matches.The raid equivalent would be something like getting all your divinations through conversion and getting all your insights from the escort which would take over 2.5 years!

Yes, roughly, give or take a couple of hours depending on how much free time I had on a given day. And with quarantine, there's not been a whole lot else to do. Thank The Pale Tree for GW2! :+1:

But I'll tell you... probably the most important thing I've learned about sPvP in GW2 is this: when you're on a winning streak... whatever you do, DON'T STOP! The Match-Maker is a fickle mistress! And when she's loving you, you love her back! :kissing_wink:

In cases like that and with the PvP population being relative small, it was probably just a matter of you being one of the best players that was on at that moment :p

Agree with the philosophy that a full set of legendaies should require playing all game modes. My hope is is the meta legendary reward for the icebrood saga is a legendary aquabreather, so i can finally live my dream of purple in everyhole. The current legendary amulet is fine, move on and make new legendary items that we currently do not have access to.

You are mistaken. You forgot that it is possible to trade LI for LD.With a total of 25 encounters that give LI/LD that makes 6 weeks of full-clearing W1-7.

hm i was pretty sure it goes both ways nowadays. wouldve double-checked before posting if i had access to my private pc right now^^

edit:currently doing some research...according to this thread they removed the possibility to trade LI>LD for some time but brought it back later.https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/961363/#Comment_961363gonna check later whether or not it is still possible.
