What if 2 teams had their total scores: 500-500 and time ran out at the same time?

I have had this question in mind for a while. So, if 2 teams had scores: 500-500 and the time ran out simultaneously, would they have to compete against each other once more?

It goes into overtime and instantly ends as soon as one team takes a lead.
I have seen this happen only once in all my PvP matches ive ever had.

I assume the one this year was 2 real players and the rest bots? Hense the stalemate?
Those are the moments where you wish you were someone that has a lot of AoE's to protect nodes.

This happened about 4/10 games on legacy on hot release. Double bunker chrono, double tempest.
