Why are the Arcane Council's chairs so big?

Seriously, those things are gigantic. They look like they're designed for someone 20 feet tall... even a maximum-sized norn is still too small: https://i.imgur.com/OWSbtKa.jpg

It needs sufficient seating capacity to hold the accumulated reputation, amassed knowledge, vast intelligence, and boundless generosity of each Council member. :P

The answer is that the Asura don’t sit in the chair themselves but that they put their egos in the chairs while in council. Large egos need large chairs.

But if that's true, the chairs should be so small that you'd have to see them with a microscope. ;)

Yes that’s true. A counsel meeting where everyone is trying to backstab each other and simultaneously avoiding being backstabbed would tend to drag a bit. A pause for refreshments and to sharpen the knives before the next round helps to clear the mind when laying plans for your neighbor’s demise.

Nah, asura are smart. They're preemptively appealing to their future charr overlords. Even Queen Jennah did it during the last festival (though the cropped image doesn't show the true size of the throne she had made).

Little do you know, each Council member's chair is actually a transformer. It turns into a golem when they are attacked.
