They’ve actually made it less important by reducing the relative effectiveness of combos from multiple players, along with allowing more and more content to be solo’able.I think megaserver change was way more impactful. Up until that point, i could recognize a lot of players i was doing events with, and some of them recognized me. The same with guilds - inter-guild recognition was better, and not only at the level of the biggest guilds out there. But then all servers got merged, and it all disappeared almost overnight.The greatest impact to guild is multi-chat. It basically take away the importance of guild completely and transform guild into an LFG existence. At first I was hopeful they would do something to empower the guild even after the multi-chat dropped because of the guild dev team but boom, they drop the guild dev team too. Since then, Gw2 is already walking towards the path of doom. Anet already abandoned gw2 and put it on maintenance mode, a routine development cycle and not innovating the game anymore. Well, 9 days more to go to the new game.

If there's one change that I'd like to see it would be more reasons to do content together, not alone. That change you mentioned is a huge reason for why I feel this way. Not only that, the Guild system as a whole simply doesn't feel as fleshed out or integral to the GUILD Wars experience, and that's an absolute shame.In the past, you will see tons of people arguing how "Guild" Wars is a lore. Lol. Try really hard to distract the real subject at hand. Well, they got what they want, silent majority mass quitting with new options being available.
  3. They buffed the dwarf stab.They buffed scourge shade range shrouding capability. Sure, in a way they nerf melee splash but their range capability greatly improved. They can now range do 900 range shade while hitting 10 targets.With just these two changes alone, you can easily go with 2 rev, 2 scourge, 1 support combo.The rev will replace firebrand for your stab while doing more dps than having firebrand in your comp. Your scourge 900 range gonna be so deadly with 10 target hits.Now you have stab, powerful range dps/strip and heal. What's more do you need? You then make this a 50-men blob. Omfg. Broken, totally broken.

  6. Personally, I never thought gw2 community is awesome. Not because it has some toxic individuals, every game has those. It is just simple lack the feeling of a community. There is no real reason to interact with people much. You can get a lot of things done without needs to interact. A guild which supposedly be the center of a community building is just a useless LFG like existence here in gw2. Gw2 take all kinds of politics out of the game because they want a "friendly" community but you end up with a superficial community. The gw2 community boost about how social the game is but all that social lack sense of closeness. The community go hype about how amazing the subset of gw2 is (like wvw or raid) but forget that great majority are not. The kind of game design attract and encourage the same kind of people that make up the community. All the nostalgic feelings I had in other mmorpgs, not one or two mmorpgs but a couple, can't be found in this game at all now. The current Gw2 is not a game made to support community but rather people that come and go. Which now I see the real model of the game design. Anet want people to buy gw2 and then leave after you done so they do not have to continue maintain costly infrastructures to support large amount of players.
  7. I'll go out on a limb here and say that a community manager manages the community. That is they liaise with the community as a point man/woman for the rest of the company. I wouldn't want to be the community manager on these forums for sure. Oh. That means the person gotta be a hardcore gw2 players, right? Otherwise, he/she not able to understand what the community talking about, isn't it? Likewise, not able to clarify the story too. In that case, wouldn't existing players able to do the job already?
  8. It is basically a nerfed version of meta event. I bet they think that having meta event is not sustainable in long run so they decided a mini version like this.

  10. Anet simply has a big problem with the way they run game. Gw2 was very successful at start, it has interesting ideas. This include their concept of Living Story where "Living" means a persistent changing world. However, they scrapped that idea off just because a group of players QQ that they want replayability for those contents. So today we have so many many maps is because of those people that complained of replayability but guess what? Now we have people complaining too many maps which cause population to spread out sparsely. Next is people then QQ about dungeon difficulty so anet nerf them but in the end, how many actually play those high level dungeons. Still not much and those who do play can't see the difference between pre or post nerf. Nevermind the above. I also remembered anet once say they won't add mount because the game is not made for mount in mind. Guess what? They add mount in pof and added mount everywhere else. What happen to that "not made for mount"? Then they added mount to wvw as well just because some minority say to do so and guesss what? The blob now can mount over the smaller group ezpz. Years ago people already claiming the need to blow up the server due to bad population balance. There was argument which again the very vocal people come in. Years later, these vocal people are gone and now they finally take the claim seriously, is it not too late already? The list can go on and on but one thing for sure is anet has a very very big problem on the way they run game which is they have absolute zero idea what they really want for the game. They add whatever players ask for regardless if it is suitable for the game or not, regardless the number of people asking for it. They try hard to please the vocal people by adding so many things but end up the game is mash of everything where nothing really stand out. Is anet really a game developing studio? Do the devs really have any passion for their game? Why are the devs selectively taking suggestions and not seriously contemplating the pros and cons of the suggestions? The game is so messed up, I don't even know how it is possible for anyone to make it good again. I personally think is beyond salvaging. I think anet can only live on with their not so living story episodes.

When it was locked for nearly a whole year, BG was still consistently winning it's match ups, so bandwagoning can't be the reason.Bg was formed very early on during the launch. It became the defacto server for pve before the server thingy, I already forgot what is called. Anyway, lots and lots people went bg not just for wvw. Exactly because of that, bg limit was raised several times throughout. Bg base population is enormous. Also, whenever it open, people went and stack there ontop of that enormous base population. So everytime there are return players, bg again become gigantic big. Furthermore, POF's current balance dictate that as long enemy has more than 10, with all meta classes, you have high chance of losing. You can't zerg bust anymore in POF. It is a number game.

Were you on when Rose+Dent+Pugs rolled HoB+Pugs over with equal numbers on both sides? I am not sure having outman buff on my status bar is considered equal numbers. Uh...I meant equal numbers between SoS and BG.HoB as in House of Bookah.Ah, I read wrong :(

  18. They have 3 teams doing living story while 1 team doing something else aka first come first basis. Doesn't look like they pour all their resources to gw2.Gw2 ultimately is just LS.

  22. Touching these classes are same as just touching the surface of the issue.Anet and people need to understand changes that occur throughout the the years and analyse the impact of these changes. Initially, we have simple skills where you don't have easy to access active and passive team heal. You want team buffs, you have to blast combo fields for it. The vets should remember we use to blast fire, water and lightning fields frequently. The boons duration wasn't as crazy as now, the boonstrips don't affect as many as now. All in all, greater teamplay prevail. HOT come, things start to go a bit crazy. We have access to greater boons duration, active and passive team heals and more dps. It took awhile but we found out how to abuse the boons thus allow certain level of zerg busting to keep going. However, once everybody knows the correct builds, zerg busting become near to impossible. Still, anet is not waiting for that to happen, they decided the boons are too much so here come the POF's balance. POF arrived with greater access of boonstrip. They justify these greater access of boonstrip by having firebrand of greater access of boons. Yet, anet and some don't get it. The number boonstrips grow exponentially alongside with your numbers. No matter the amount of firebrand, you are gonna melt. Your boons gonna be stripped instantly, you gonna be bombed to death instantly with the power creep. Anet think nerfing scourge gonna fix this? What a joke. Blob can still perma push you with extra 10 spellbreakers, you still gonna be dead dead dead. Zerg busting era is basically over. It is the blob era now, who own the bigger blob that knows how to smash their buttons win. The only real fix to the issue is balance revamp throughout the entire game. You gonna review every single piece of gears, runes, food, sigils, skills etc etc. After which, you also need to rebalance the pve mobs due to all these reviews. Then maybe you can fix your game.

  24. I remembered the original living story release model was very active. Many continue to do it until the very last day. Ever since they change the model to a persistent one, lesser and lesser doing it. Honestly, the original living story model was to make the world of guilds wars 2 "living" such that the surroundings will change overtime but they ditched that out of the window after the players complain it lack replayability. Personally I liked the original living story model, it is more immersive and can feel the world actually changing side by side with you. Sometimes not all players requests are good and that is also one of the problems of anet, they like listening to "popular" requests even if is bad for the game in long run.
