  1. I should preface this with saying I believe stealth has no place in competitive gameplay. For open world I really miss rune of the trapper on my ranger. Relics are boring. Having fewer choices is boring. Removing all of the fun stuff effects makes it worse. I understand how things don't match up in some of the different game types, but at least let us have the old fun bonuses in open world.
  2. Please don't try another single meta across a multiple extension map. You struggle with pacing and by the time we get the last portion it is easy to be burned out on the first parts.
  3. I would like to unlock the skins but it isn't worth suffering through that many rifts. It wouldn't be so bad if you could earn resources (even at a lower rate) through other means of open world to make it less likely to cause burnout. Maybe a Jade Bot Module to earn some currency from champions and world bosses that can be used to buy essence.
  4. They have categories for pvp, wvw, and pve. Why not add a 4th option for Activities?
  5. It isn't giving credit even if you are on that part of the story. Please let the fix give us credit for already doing it since it consumed our mats. (not all of us enjoy farming rifts with such low rewards and wasting more time traveling than fighting)
  6. I had no clue the dot appeared until reading this. It took some testing to realize my character's white cape made the dot impossible to see.
  7. It feels like more time is spent traveling between rifts than actually fighting them.
  8. If all I care about is min and max performance, then you are right. There are parts of the game where that can matter. But many of the bonuses they removed were fun and or helpful to use in open world. They added a little flavor to how we played. It was nice not feeling like I was using a raid build all the time. The current batch of relics may be good for performance (when I am in group content) but they are mostly boring when it comes to open world.
  9. The wind effect needs more color contrast for some of us. I though it was visual noise because the first few times it was always moving the same direction.
  10. Maybe try a little empathy? It's a simple as that. For new and (many) casual players those freebies are a good thing. For people burnt out on daily chores, they could log in (keep in touch with the game) and make minor progression for when they are ready to play again. On a single account it takes a long time for the login rewards to add up to something valuable. The entire problem is how difficult it is to get some of those items outside of the login reward system. For a company that loves to create new currency they refused to address that the login reward was more efficient than any other means to get some of the items. Which lead to the more serious players farming the most efficient option available. If the value of coins crashed to a few silver do you think anyone would care enough to farm logins on multiple accounts? Maybe increase the laurel cost on some of the sellable materials if really concerned about those prices. The new bottleneck would probably be spirit shards for anyone wanting to make legendaries, which would indirectly encourage people to go do things that earn xp.
  11. The system is so bad I can't help but wonder if the plan is get us fired up over the lack of choices so we focus less on the battle pass style kitten. Then send out a patch explaining how they listen and care.
  12. There are not any relics for many of the bonuses I used in open world builds. Those bonuses were not problems in other parts of PvE and if they by some chance had issues in other parts of the game they could have been balanced accordingly. Instead we get stuck with mostly relics with boring choices. What is so awful about letting us have fun?
  13. They are more focused on getting us to grind than wanting us have fun. The wizard chore system is worse than dailies. Relics system took away some fun options and I don't see how to get them back yet. Some of the dragon masteries feel like things I've already earned (they claim with a minor upgrades) Starting to feel too much like WoW.

  15. My 4th is log in which is automatic. Are people getting 4 tasks and non of them includes the log in?
  16. There is a gear icon to the left of daily in the vault. Not sure if the daily's reflect changes the next day or next week. I am really not liking the "here is 3 tasks" instead of choose 3 tasks form various game modes. This is incredibly bad. Finding a few tasks I don't mind or enjoy is good. Having no alternatives to tasks that I find absolutely miserable is not fun.
  17. They offer gem to gold conversion (and the other way) for a reason. So it makes sense that some players are spending money for in game items (not sure what items).
  18. ArenaNet is losing trust over easily avoidable decisions like this. I am not talking about just the runes. The constant failures with planning and communications. They make a post saying "trust us" we will release information in a couple of weeks. Then they say it needs a couple of more days. Once released we learn that nothing of value is provided and they say "trust us" we will improve the situation in the future. But there is no guarantee. For all we know it could be "delayed" into a future expansion. ArenaNet is asking us to trust them. While also taking away something that was suppose to be the end of the grind and asking us to earn it back. We trusted them when sinking all that time and effort into the Legendary runes. Lets be honest, the relic is not a new item like the jade bot cores. It is separating what we already have and using it as content filler. This level of disrespect for players time and efforts is what I expect from EA or Activision. I'm just waiting for Anet to respond with: The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes relics.
  19. That was a lot of words to say wait on a real answer and wait even longer on a solution. A single relic box per character is still not enough for screwing over regular runes. At the very least provide one per equipment tab per character and offer all existing rune bonuses as a choice. The supposed "compensation" for legendary runes doesn't help at all while we wait.
  20. That or they knew what to expect and hoped everyone would exhaust themselves arguing over the long weekend.
  21. Legendary gear gets new stat combinations whenever those are added to the game. It in no way stifles progress. If anything it provides an incentive to invest towards those items. For possibly the first time, they are separating what an item does. I agree with the concept. But they are taking away part of what we already have. Offering 1 relic is bad for normal runes. It is even worse for legendary runes that require drastically more time and gold
  22. Something like the Hall of Monuments that gave rewards based on the previous game?
  23. Thanks. Could you also discuss among yourselves how much players hate specific farms to obtain the current runes. It sounds like you are now switching that same awful mechanic (now adding achievement requirements) to the relic system. Think about when the monk runes were dungeon specific ( for some simply requiring any dungeon). Did you ever hear anyone excited about farming up the currency for the set to get the bonus? It felt like punishment and actively discouraged some of us from gearing multiple characters. The legendary runes provided so much freedom and fun. Going back to needing to farm specific relics is absolutely dreadful.
