  1. For mesmer players/addicts, how many Mesmers do you have? Personally over the years I've made 4 and they're all level 80s of difference races. Especially with build templates now, I run the same build on them.. And only switch if I play game content that requires it.... Redundancy? Hell yes. But totally not ashamed.
  2. After so many years, and having taken many breaks, I still find myself returning to the game, especially when the going gets tough in life, there's always a fun and safe place to be here. With the holiday season here and in the spirit of gratitude and gifting, for veteran players, I'd love to hear your stories and of why you still play now after so many years, and newer players, what new memories have you discovered and made?
  3. Agree with what people are saying. The community is so united here! This trailer to reiterate for myself is nothing but a bunch of quotes. Other than the video clips itself not showcasing the good things of gw2 directly without any need for flourish, the quotes take all the focus away. The quotes are also from players or nobodies as far as the viewer is concerned. It cheapens the trailer and gw2 as if you need to show these quotes to get players and as if there aren't any legitimate reviews from media channels. It makes it worse and turns it into a nobody game. If you want a community esque trailer, you should have tiny short action packed clips sort of cut like the Lineage Mobile trailer everywhere recently of people actually streaming or playing, community events, and fanmade things, art streams, Pink Day, maybe a staff party with players, and onward, real clips of people getting together and genuinely having a great time. And even then that should not be the official trailer, it would be only one version for community highlights
  4. Yes, we've been asking for key rings/currency (which we got!!!) and trophy collections, more specifically, a book library, this would be so helpful. I love keeping so many trophies and of course, that includes all the books. Anet put a lot of effort into lore and little details in each item and we should definitely have a way of keeping all the good things they included.

I sing high praises for this!! 9/10 Absolutely gorgeous super pretty map Story was A+ with tons of combat, less lengthy dialogue, a good level of difficultyBosses including in the story instance have a range of mechanics and increase difficulty, they are not too punishing if you make a single mistake, all attacks were easily read and avoidableCC from bosses and mobs was a bit annoying though but this keeps it difficult and you can still take a hit or two (I play glass light armor) but I can imagine with less stunbreaks and evades it would be an issue for some classesI think often players want everything handed to them too easily. if the combat requires some effort, skill, reaction, knowing their class or making builds, or having a substantial group/squad, I see complaints. But that is the whole point of a combat system in Gw2 and for me, this episode was the perfect balance - wasn't too punishing and was still a challenge. I didn't die a single time, though I took some damage, while I did die a few times in the Path of Fire story. Meta events are super fun, super rewarding, farmable, and makes a whole lot of sense in the storyline, completed all of them with a full squad and large zerg instance found via LFGI need to try the Raid and Fractals, but their lore context sounds amazingRaptor mount skin was pretty and unique but kind of out of place and does not seem to be worth 2000 gems, I can only find it possible to use on trolly/jokes characters not my mainsLegendary focus skin not my kind of thingVisually astounding but also takes a toil on performance during group eventsOverall, an incredible immersive experience that tackles every aspect of the game right - environment, lore, combat, mechanics, rewards, community. Please do continue to make content like this.
  6. Everyone is quick to say they don't want Underwater combat, just as many has said the same about mounts. I also find underwater clunky and annoying, one major problem I find is being unable to judge distance/range for both ranged and melee. So far underwater has been fun solely for the mesmer spear 2 and 5? skill to get that speed boost. I agree many things would have to be revamped and balanced. But keep an open mind, who knows what they can do with it if they choose to invest in it and revamp everything. Like someone said above, there could be masteries to make travel amazing, maybe even walkable. We can't say we won't like it, until they've had the opportunity to revamp everything. We are only saying we don't want it based on our current experience. You don't know what it can become. I would say it's a long way away, as much as I'd like to see it happen and see it become enjoyable. It would probably have to come with the Cantha expansion if we get that? And also Largos and all? Where the Quaggan, Krait, etc come from? No high hopes for it yet, but I do want to see it. I wouldn't mind a full underwater expansion, if it is an amazing experience. Yes maybe submarine ish vehicles since we have airships, maybe underwater mounts, walkable dome cities, underwater glass tube passageways, teleportation whirlpools, other skills and masteries. I'd love more complex and explorable underwater ruins too and entire civilizations waiting to be discovered

  8. Mount skins like outfits, backpacks and gliders, beautiful fashion items should be kept the same, where we can buy what we like. There was no reason to make this a randomized lootbox scenario. BLC and other small things is a different story. These skins are pretty major visible effects on our character. This is definitely an unfair exploit. 700 gems for basic, 1000 gems sounds about right for most nice mounts skins, and maybe a 2000 for the starbound griffon, or the reforged warhound is an okay stretch. But randomizing it is so appalling and placing the value of starbound griffon equal to some other basic skins just doesn't make sense either. It also seems there are skins that are just some recoloring simply made for this lootbox concept, as common drops, when they really aren't that unique or necessary. Please never do these kind of things. I know it might work as players are forced to buy many many adoption licenses to get which skins they want but it's really an exploitative business practice and doesn't fit in your overall history so far, culture and community.
  9. Why do you need a hard mode? Go solo a fractal, solo a dungeon, solo a bounty, solo group events, solo Steve and every boss you can find. Those are all things I've tried, some of which I succeed at, including Steve, and it does require you to be on your toes, and it's not easy, but also not like some sort of crazy meta build thing, and also playing at weird times where not many people are around lol. One of my fav memories was one of the pre events of the AB Tarir chain and no one was around so I solod the group event with swarms of mobs including the heavy hitting snipers, frog thieves, knock down Calvary, for the tower thing to be lit and then solod the mini boss in the underground thing. That was really tough and exhilarating. If you're looking for hard and fun, you can easily do it by soloing things. Now if you're talking about you getting crazy good loot, then that is simply self serving and what you want is an easy mode you can do yourself and you should learn and participate in the things where you can get the things you want. Part of the hard mode loot comes from actually working with others, which is perhaps a hard thing in itself
  10. I had a different experience because I solod the Horror on a glass mostly melee Chrono in a pretty empty instance until 60 percent health and more players came. I had enough blocks, evades, and stunbreaks on rotation for every one of his moves and on occasion had the heals to keep myself going. You definitely have to be on your toes and have a class and build where you've got constant active defense tools. It's not impossible though. My experience with the Lich was another story though even with all that and tons of condi cleanse it was easy to get hit at range if I had a moment without something up my sleeve. But I never got to try because last I fought Lich with less people the Horror came along for a gang up and it was hell lol
  11. Strange that there are so many different opinions because I've heard everyone calling him Steve in NA servers, and this is the megaserver system. So it's enough that I hear it in every instance and in LA etc constantly with various guilds and so on during NA hours
  12. I think we need confirmation for party to party too. Maybe the democracy thing for kicking, can be applied to confirming a merge. Parties still get trolled
  13. I actually see mounts as an object of envy and a lot of free to play players are purchasing the upgrade because of it. It convinces people to help upgrade imo even more than gliders which are less noticeable. Alot of players are asking how to get mounts and then getting PoF after.

What a wonderful idea and restart :) Probably no one would gift such a hefty gift but my RNG has always been horrible and I've been trying to loot exalted chests for it for a long long time... to no avail... and I won't be able to afford it having never surpassed 200g, and currently working hard on ascended armor ... But I really really really desire a Vial of Liquid Aurillium or Liquid Aurillium Infusion.... That aura is just so so so necessary for my character... Haha it's like my biggest dream right now My eternal gratefulness if this ever happens, or if you can help in any way Thank you for reading :)
  15. Honestly each bounty could have a mini meta chain that leads to it. Like a raid on a bountys HQ or tracking it's location down via clues of it's past known destinations or gathering and creating a ley infused bait or lure to bring it out. Short and sweet enough, not too long, but interesting and a variety that makes sense and somewhat makes the bounty make more sense too because these are supposed to be difficult hunts, i.e. hard to get ? But thing i realize is that they already packed maps full of mini chains, that not many people do aside for certain achieves or collections. So if bounties get a bit more context we'd need a tone down on some.less necessary events. also up the rewards.
  16. I do agree with having a checkpoint/continue point but in terms of story it doesn't make sense if you can walk around open world alive after Balthazar s killing blow and cutscene... Unless as soon as you login if DC you are automatically in the dead instance
  17. I agree with OP points. It's not always you are on a bounty train, these large maps honestly are looking really empty. Whether the train has moved to a different map zone or if it's on a different instance, or simply not the time of day where most players and active commanders are on. The megaserver and instance system seems to perform really differently on these large maps and it honestly seems like there are a lot less players because the population allowed is split up on diff instances. It worked for smaller maps but it's not the same on POF maps. Anyway i agree with the op, more map wide transparency would help

Battles don't have to be enjoyable tbh , I didn't enjoy it but I did enjoy how creeped out I was by the whole scenario and how emotional it got seeing the memories and all and how much I wanted to get out of the wretched place once I met eater of souls. That for me was why it was a great experience. It was difficult but that's totally immersive given the circumstances and it made an even more haunting experience because it was such a kitten to kill and felt some how unnaturally strong unlike anything we are used to. I got somewhat terrified when it ran at superspeed to me, and panicked in the beginning. Had to recollect myself and understand its mechanics. I think it should be this way. Can you imagine how it would be totally illogical if it was a walk in the park and we can just walk out of the domain like nothing? We are in such a place dealing with a strange enemy that works in a different way, it should make us have to reconsider our course of action.

  20. So I figured out my illusions resets his health while being in aoe range. I also had to quit and redo it with no illusions and GS equipped so I can max range for a headstart running away from the heal. Luckily a blink helps and mirage superspeed helps. CC was bugged? for mine and did not do anything even if I time them right and try to interrupt his heals. He was also buggy running back and forth half invulnerable. But still, it was doable. Eventually running around I got him stuck on rocks and ranged him from a corner. The cage also works. All in all, yes I had my fair share of trouble, yes it was difficult. I wanted to break my keyboard. But so are many other aspects of the game and stories. Why should we not have challenges where what we normally do isn't sufficient? It's having it spoon-fed to us if we just keep doing the same repetitive combat style, use the same builds, spam same keys. All classes have heals, condi cleanse, melee, ranged, defensive mechanisms and more for a reason, for all the options available so we can adapt to whatever situation. A good player will tell you they carry basically all the weapons with them. You also can't exactly solo bounties or some champ hero points and so on without being good at your class and having a strong build that can help you survive and have tools available. I'm sure most players aren't using the same build for all game modes, wvw, pvp, fractals, raids, dungeons, open world, core tyria, HoT, PoF. Why should it be catered to you so you can easily do it without trying to change or improve yourself? There is obvious proof how most players managed to do it, even if it took some time. And even glitches like the cage or rocks you can exploit. Some are good at Cc and managed to land that. There have always been complaints from imho a mindset and attitude problem when players just want to rush through content, get it done, get the rewards without reevaluating and figuring out a strategy that works. You are one paying customer out of millions, and even if you paid for the expansion, this is only a tiny part of it and you paid for a whole experience, not all the rewards and things given to you easily. Don't nerf. Just fix the bugs, not the cage and so on though, anyone who researches or experiments would be able to figure that out and get it done with ease. It is seriously satisfying when you adapt to an impossible situation and overcome it and look back and realize you could do it. You did it. First time with Balth, I died like five six times, second times I died only once. That feels good. Can I do it perfectly without dying? That would be an achiecement.. Take it as a challenge
  21. Great immersive story. Beautiful maps. So many nooks and crannies to explore and discover. I love challenging fights. maps so large and design of goals causes the solo experience again (may be good but also players scattered, no sense of community). Lack of big meta chains and focuses. Bounties are fun for a while but seems repetitive farming. Too many mob swarms with huge aggro range and hard hitting following you everywhere making it difficult to navigate to destinations especially difficult mount based jumping puzzles needing accuracy while being attacked by mobs and trying to consult map. Killing said mob swarms is fine but they respawn almost or actually immediately after, causing frustrating solo experiences. Group play is not an option, people seem to be scattered and at different progress levels esp with such huge maps. All in all great solo world immersion but also too solo focused and frustrating to be solo as it stands. And of course way too many crashes and bugs, despite demos and stress test
  22. me too, I usually solo alot of champs and bosses and enjoy challenging content. Balthazar was fun. I play Mesmer and I was so angry with Eater of Souls. I found out that illusions near him will immediately reset him to 100 on his final aoe heal blast. Especially on Chrono or with clones on dodges, I always had illusions up. This should honestly be a bug because they don't have the health of a player and apparently pets or minions dont reset him. So I had to change my weapon set on second try run around kiting using just GS auto at max range.. eventually he got stuck somewhere and I could just range him. Some people were talking about CC him while he's got his break bar up and so on while jumping but I never got that, it didn't do anything to him. Also blocks and evades never actually did anything to the heal drain and so on while others report they could dodge or evade it. It did not work that way for me. I basically stayed max range and blinked and ran as far as I could when he did his healing beam and aoe heal. He was also very buggy and walked back and forth in one spot sometimes invulnerable half of it. Just a headache. But the whole story was emotional, powerful and phenomenal. eater of souls seems just buggy as heck. anyway suggestion for Mesmer is to GS or staff range and no illusions. Mirage might also be very helpful just evade, superspeed, axe 2, jaunt, mirrors, sword ambush leap away, etc. no illusion skills, or if there are use it for CC interrupts. Otherwise kite and try to get him stuck on rocks or jokos cage.

I would spend TONS of gems and irl money on these: unlimited Permanent Makeover Kit (could have a cool down like once per day or something) Purchaseable Teleport to Friends / unlimited Permanent Teleport to FriendsBottomless Backpack! (though I understand if that creates problems, but at least a large enough inventory that dwarves the current max at least)
