  1. Sooo the next Stealth OP thread. Is the thief even allowed to still be good in a mode? Ingame it has several hardcounters against thief Stealth. Ranged Attacks with channeling, AoE, Traps, Reveal Skills, Sentries and Watchtowers and CC. DH, Souldbeast, Engi and Well played Harbingers can eat thief pretty hard. Condi Mesmer also is a hard brick when played well. The only class which is indeed eaten by thief is the warrior. The real problem is -> Many thief players who still play the class today are usually the stronger players, because the class is definitely on high density level and that on every build there is for thieves (many new thief players give up because too hard) .These players have simply learned to play their class, which is often not the case with Rangers who just run through the mode with Pew Pew (unfortunately often the case). Those players also often do not know how the thief works and that is the main problem. Go look the recent video of Yama how he smash a S/D thief with reaper. How could he do this? Simply because he know what the thief does and where he need too put the fields and when he must burst the thief. In addition, Shadow Arts was just recently reworked and from my point of view, the thief is now quite well balanced and in the best spot he ever was (Balancewise). The Deadeye is still very annoying yes (and bounce Daredevils) , I agree, but permastealth and stealth camping doesn't really exist anymore, at least not when the thief plays offensively. But the claim that only the thief does this is a flat out a lie. Other classes also have their blocks, invul, stealth, Superspeed and massive mobility and some are just as fast in the race as the thief and heroes of escape with simply running away or reset fights . Ahh and yes thiefs are alot in camps but as compensation thief can't really fight around towers with watchtowers and in big zergfights.... he die pretty fast when focused and cced right. Good deal i would say. (No other classes has counters in forms of Structures or NPCS!) That is simply the role which the thief plays -> Roamer and yes they are in need of mobility, stealth, blocks etc. because they are squishy and in the case of the thief, he has no real healing, boons or whatever. To kill Stealth would steal his idenity. Would stealth gone that means the thief would need even more access to mobility or something else and i can say that then alot peoples would come again and complain about it. This class is a selfish 1 target class, it is his identity.
  2. Thief is the big stepchild in the room. I mean he is literally bad in all modes ecept roaming or 1vs1 but also there are stronger classes. In Spvp he is a kittening decap bot played with D/P and he can't 1vs1 most other classes only +1 (exept DE). In WvW he is pretty good in roaming but even more bad than a Ranger in Zerging. He has no group support/ no b00n spam and with the recent nerfs spectre is unplayable in zergs. In PvE thief is pretty trash and other classes are simply better, easier to play or brings more to the table. That is simply really bad and I think the class is now one of the worst ever state this game ever had. No idea how that kitten could go trough the QA. Anet should simply revert some changes which where made in the past. Also the only class which has hardcounters in form of watchtowers/guards and traps in the game. Silly after that SA rework.....it massively weakens the offensive as well as the deffensive, partly without the opponent having to do anything at all. Unfair!
  3. The problem is when u play that kitten with an other person together like druids, ele. In conquest or claim this is a complete joke.

  7. There is a cmplete broken build with vindi. He can't die and heal others instant. He fly the whole time in the air and dodge so he can't interrupted or cc really. This is perma dodge DD on steroids.
  8. Question: Why is Stealth OP in PvP and WvW? I mean in Pvp u can't take points when you are stealthed and in WvW i never see a thief in a zerg. I only see Peoples with Zerg builds chasing some thiefs because they can't copypaste proper roaming builds and learn but that is it.
  9. It is not broken. Broken are Immortals who can stack boons as hell and mechs who simply press 1 and do double backstabs in distance or the vindi from yesterday who could literally perma dodge. Thief was never meta in WvW and is since rls subbar to play in Zergs. He is only good in roaming. In Spvp it seems he will fall of the Meta and in PvE thief is trash tier. But sure Thief is OP! Thief is also one of the least played classes in the whole game. If he were so broken, it is really strange that so few play him.
  10. To much PvE I know it very well. But at the end it is stupid to have Debuff in the game from NPC's and Structures. I mean all other classes do not suffer from it and that is the problem. I would love to have a Debuff tactic for towers to lower the duration of boons, invul etc. 🙂
  11. It's funny that you edited that last one in. I think that you are almost a pure PvE player 😉 I must say I have never met you in Spvp and my mates who play Plat in NA have never seen you. Okay, then a counter-question. Please show us a video of you playing a D/P thief without stealth. That should be easy for you, because the thief has class skills with lots of evades, blinds etc. Preferably a video of you laying a Souldbeast in 1vs1 and of course this opponent has to be a Plat player as you are one too. That should be fair, right? 🙂

  13. But u need stealth for doing even a backstab because it is a stealth attack. Without stealth u can't do a backstab. xDD https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Backstab That means a thief have to play how they play. No Stealth = No Backstab simple as it is. April 30, 2013 Skills that must be performed from stealth are now labeled as "Stealth Attack."
  14. 90% of the playerbase are PVE Zombies who often not even know what a breakbar is. What do you expect? Higher Skill classes are too much for them to understand. They want only 111 press Monster with 40k dmg output aka Mechs. More Passiv crap and there is the thief, a class which is activ, with timing and improvisation during battle. So he gets all the hate automatically. I mean look.... peoples are even to bad for throwing a target painter. How dare you that u made this post for asking to rework the watchtower/guard debuff. xD PS: Very funny when random PvE players tell you, that u don't know your class. Hahahaha
  15. I agree with you there. The debuff is indeed probably the most unfair part of WvW now. I don't think it's appropriate after all the nerfs/reworks. I don't think your suggestion is bad at all. Still gives the deffer an advantage there but not as broken as now. The kitten things also stinks incredibly when you want to make the Zerg invisible.

  19. PvP in this game is ded because the devs are bad. They do not even play the game and when.... only on certain classes which always gets the flavor and are often low skillfloor. This Dev is completely out of touch with the Battle Gameplay of this game/community and it seems they also have no real Vision. Gw 2 Started as a game without the boring 0815 holy trinity kitten every other MMO has. And now we have the same kitten like in ESO where you have boonball stupidness. Today i came across to some immortal Revs. It IS the same kitten now like in ESO. Anet kills this game with every new Balance Patch. They abadoned Dungeons, then came Fractals, then the raids and now the strikes. That is a example that Anet doesn't really know what they do and what they want. This example is the same with the balance of the classes. We have Classes which are necessary and some others who get insta kicked. The balance is kitten and even more after this Dogshit patch. The same kitten was even anno 2013. They do not Listen and that's a kittening shame. How many peoples and whole guilds asked for a dedicated GvG Mode? 10 Years later there is still none. 🤡
  20. Its balanced around Guardian & Engi, the only classes which the devs do play in WvW or PvP (I guess there is also not any dev who plays these modes mainly, only Grouch was a dedicated PvP Player but yeah he is now a Manager).
