  1. Nobody really uses sword oh in pve focus is just too good to pass. But i agree with te utility comment, outside of whirling light every other utility is bad (again pve).
  2. Tbf heaven's palm will still see use because the other elites are very niche or bad for willy. The other utilities however, ive never seen them used.
  3. Condi willy always takes it in pve as well. You take both actually and last i checked you'd first replace signet before you replaced whirling light.
  4. Its harder to do that while making sure that cfb doesnt get hit as hard as qfb should.
  5. I did make this post with group content in mind yes, esp considering that you need a group to reach any of these numbers in the first place.
  6. What about a mesmer charging their mantras? Its every class with mantras need s to learn to do well. usijg a port or a distort is a huge investment for a mantra, you are better off abusing terain to get it out. Mantras went from zero counter play to having a solid counterplay, not to mention firebrand was weak in pvp while mantras had no downside, its not the mantras keeping fb down.
  7. You wouldnt reach benchmark dps without grenade kit and manual mech skills but still very close. For me personally i vakue range and utility more since eso in new encoumters range is really usefull and if you brijg strong utikity you should also get a dmg tax for that. Not saying complexity doesnt matter but for me that ranks last, still it should influence the final number.

Imo the ways they should buff dh are the following: Revert the cd increase on lb2, replace the root with 50% movement and buff lb aa, buff possecion of blades and buff bgh slightly or decrease its cast time, reduce the aftercast on gs 3, 4 and 5 especially 4 by a bunch. These likely wont push dh to 40k but they are largely qol buffs aimed at making dh slightly easier to do high benchmark numbers without extensive stowing and make lb feel better.

I wouldnt agree with the second point that much nowadays, since the rework getting benchmark numbers on firebrand have been harder than ever (ofc not condi untamed hard or some other piano build) but the changes to tomes and mantras have madde fb tighter and more busy. Not gonna argue that cfb isnt abit too strong rn (i think it would be fine at 40k dps with the current playstyle) but its not as easy as it was pre rework. Qfb is a bigger problem currently and tbh complexoty for me ranks last in determining the dmg a build does. Range and utility matter alot more.
  10. Imo boon dps supports should be around 32k gove or take into acount their utikity while dps substatially higher. qfb doing 37k ish is extremely unhealthy and oppresive.

Yeah but the channeling was introduced to balance the mantras because instant cast abilities with no animation or windup are unhealthy in competitive. channeling and covering that channel introduces more nuance in competitive making you think of your cds, positioning and enemy positioning and cds and all the mantras are very worth their channel times currenrly.
  12. Is this about survivability? Because with movement (wasd) you can deal with almost all mechanics and then you also have other mantras and shouts to cover you further. The mantras are very strong now and instand which makes channeling them a counterbalance and expression of skill and encounter knowledge. They dont even slow you you move with the same speed, i really dont see tge massive concerns in pve.
  13. Rf also "dazed" you for longer than mantras do with quickness. Its not like if you are channeling a mantra you are doing nothing, you still have acess to all your instant cast skills so for example if during your flame mantra channel theres alot of condi preassure you can assist with reso from heal mantra or if theres a cc you can stab mantra, you can also use any of the shouts.
  14. I agree with Rama and Yao but we've have been through some very tough situations with gorrik over the years and i think that reckons some intimacy or at least interest on each other's well being.
  15. It doesnt have to go to the extend Kass and Jory were during se2 but certainly it could be higher and more genuine. If they want to keep exploraing the commander and their state of being then not having your party show interest in you is very off putting in my opinion. On the other and if they want to write the commander as a stoic unphasing pillar of morals and ideals thats fine too and having group comfort and support you would make less sense in that situation. Thats not how they presented the commander tho so the lack of that interest and support comes off as hollow and offputting.

See it mostly having to do with the void/hazedemon stuff and potentially kanaxai or another demon comming in to benefit from the power vaccum that is not having an elder dragon always be in cantha to regulate magic (aurene will sooner or later move elsewhere). I would be pleasantly surprised if this goes into drowned kaineng and raisu palace for that slice of the post eod plots but im not sure what to expect from the scope of the inbetween updates with this new model so its hard to put it into a structure. An idea i saw floating around which im becoming a big fan of would be to simply stay longer in cantha for the next expansion as well and explore more of it and it plotpoints in depth, urgoz, old kaineng, the purists etc. The new scope for content seems much smaller and moving from place to play like the old expacs did would likely lead to most places not being explored enough.
  17. The rest of the cast doesnt show genuine affection (friendship) and interest for the commander and their wellbeing all that often. Maybe this is because the expectation is that the commander is very emotionally strong and stable but especially in the newest episode the cast doesnt really show the type of interest a good friend of yours (almost like family) would show if you had a traumatic experience or accident. These interactions exist for the other characters in the cast, either the commander expresses them or they express them to one another but its very rare that they will direct the same interest to you. Considering what the commander has gone through in all their adventures you'd expect abit more of an emotional bond their party (with dragon's watch specificly). Everyone asks where is the commander but nobody asks how is the commander 😛 Tl:dr it feels like the rest of the cast views the commander as an associate or coleague that they also like somewhat but the casts between themselves has developed this familial bond that we are sorta viewing from the outside.
  18. Its extremely funny to me that gs2 lost the slow sooner than lb2 lost the root, also they didnt need to increase lb2 cd.
  19. I think the utility thing is argueable, herald is extremely strong too in that regard.
  20. Only issue with the new tomes is that with spotty alac your timings are thrown off and you can see the cd of the tome 5 skills to know when to go in now. Otherwise firebrand is incredibly strong rn both in terms of dmg (qfb esp is busted) and in terms of utility.
  21. They can split these nerfs if it concerns the pvp balance, that being said fb is currently too strong in pve (quick fb to be specific, dps fb could use some small nerfs too)
  22. Ok i got a couple ideas on how to tackle the fb nerfs. First nerf the quickness output of the quickness mantra baseline, the goal is for qfb to have to take weighty terms instead of legendary lore to be able to put out perma quickness (enough of s nerf where you wouldnt want to stack 3 firebrands to avoid taking weighty terms). Id follow this with a couple smallish nerfs to tome 1 skill 4 and/or 5, flame mantra final charge (not enough to not use it) and potentially puting more of the axe's power in the axe trait while also buffing the axe trait. The goal here is to have qfb have a largely diff trait path from dps fb which makes balancing the 2 much easier, by compensating for the nerfs by buffing the axe trait we ensure that dps fb gets nerfed but not nearly as heavily as quick fb which really needs the nerfs. The goal dps of these 2 builds (IMO) should be qfb around 32k and cfb around 39 to 40k. edit: Gonna paste this onto the original comment for more visibility.
  23. Pros: The map is really pretty and the meta for the msot part isnt bad, also finding non radioactive jade is really nice and i wish more of the jade sea looked that same tint. The new meta event spawn system could be really good if the rewards arent massively nerfed after one run. Edit: I wanted to add the story in the positives, althou insultingly short what we did get was quite good so kudos on the team and the va's. Cons: The haze as a mechanic is executed horribly imo, furthermore its very strange that it isnt part of a mastery line. The meta falls flat on its face by the end with an incredibly unengsging final fight. The rewards feel very underwhelming too and you seemingly stop getting keys for the day making this farm worthless after 1 run per day. Despite the meta aproach this map should have had a couple of smaller events to give it more character than simply being a map that exists for the meta, it should be the other way around. Its incredibly disappointing that the first new release for eod doesnt add more fishing content, the deep is its own biom and not having a fish collection with new fish for it is just a big letdown. Final thoughts: This should be a full on episode on its own in terms fo quantity and quality with the subsequent releases making it even bigger and better. "It will be good in x months" isnt a good selling point for ppl to get invested or interested and the only reason it was ok with bjora was because after 2 months we got the rest of it, i dount this will be the case here. After first teasing this update nearly a year ago this has been one of the most underwhelming releases since champions, incredibly weak and doesnt inspire confidence on this new model for gw2.
  24. I disagree i think the gameplay is superior in all 3 gamemodes and that their flavour now makes them feel like an actual skill type instead of shout skills at home.
