  1. Although I'm sure your knowledge of economic strategies is superb and you are a master of pricing, marketing, purchasing and selling of all varieties of virtual items and commodities, I would still question if you are in any way correct.ANet probably have a whole department who have analysed at which price, how many people will buy what product and set the level appropriately to maximize profit. Of course some people think the price is too high, they are not the target audience. With all due respect, gem prices are what they have always been and gem store items are 99% cosmetic changes ( excluding boosts and gathering tools). Therefore by definition, they are premium/luxury items, not affecting regular mechanics of the game.If the price seems to high for you, don't buy it. As mentioned, not all items are marketed at all people. See the companies/executives are hypercompetent fallacy. Or, in other words, the appeal to authority. News flash - professional economists are wrong way more often than they are right, and most companies don't hire professional economists. In reality, companies and their executives generally don't have a clue what they're doing, and and routinely make poor decisions that undermine their own revenue and long-term health. Charging $25 for skins that are released frequently and can't be used exclusively is a bad marketing decision, because anyone with a lick of sense can see that it's artificially inflated, which is going to embitter a lot of people that want to support this game but don't want to be exploited by cash grab schemes. This can be seen by the numerous conversations about it on the message boards. Or they determined that it was more optimal to sell the items at a higher cost based on data they’ve collected over the years. If they saw that they’d make much more money overall with higher prices, chances are they’re going to go that route. Or, they're just making guesses and don't actually know what they're doing. You know, the same thing that happens in most companies.Or you’re making all of that based on your opinions that may have little to no facts to back it up.

  3. This is flawed reasoning. These are digital purchases, so Anet benefits more by releasing creative items at fair prices than they get by releasing different variations of the same thing and then trying to exploit player interest. See the recent controversy with mount skins, which are unarguably laughably overpriced to the point that it's very obvious to most player that it's an exploitative cash grab. Even if people indulge this in the short term, it is more likely to drive players away over time than it is to attract more revenue. It's a typical corporate problem of trying to maximize short term profit (usually for the benefit of shareholdres) at all costs. This is especially a problem with collectible items like gathering tools and skins. Overcharging for these while releasing them frequently will burn the absolute kitten out of players until they get pissed off and stop supporting the game. If you're going to overcharge, it makes way more sense to do it with finite items that don't receive constant expansion. Players don’t play the game for the gem store. These are also optional convenience items or skins which players are free to choose to purchase or not. Prices are neither fair nor unfair as that type of qualifier does not apply. Either the item is worth the cost to the player or it is not.
  4. Or they should have significantly increased the price of PoF.
  5. I already get sparkly graphics and any issues that I do haven’t wouldn’t be resolved by upgrading to a higher version of DX.
  6. Then what makes you think DX is the issue when you had issues when you first started playing and DX hasn’t really changed since then? If complaints have increased recently, with DX remaining the same, wouldn’t that suggest something else being at fault?
  7. So, following your statement, if they KNOW it's not DX, then logically, they must know what it IS and in 5 years have not fixed it, OR, they have no idea what's causing the crashing and are just assuming DX is not the cause, but don't really know. Which scenario is more likely? Team size or not, they're selling a service that for various reasons is broken for many users and they need to step up. Maybe because the changes would involve re-writing a large part of the game and it's not worth it at the expense of future content. It seems people are far more likely to place the blame on Anet than their computers or something between the two of them.
  8. The some time ago was over 2 years ago, a lifetime ago in software. Mr Fayth kindly posted a link to it. That was before HoT or the 64-bit client were released. They also claimed in the same statement that a 64-bit client would provide little improvement, yet here we are. Yes, the engine would obviously have to be rebuilt from the ground up. It was done for both WoW and FFXIV, which both started their lives on DX9, so it's not an impossible task. Whether it was 2 years ago or 10 years doesn’t matter as their statements on how the game designed don’t have expiration dates. If they stated that DX# would not provide any significant improvements, because the issues have nothing to do with DX, then there’s no reason for that to be any different today. Just because X game developer upgraded their game and saw improvements doesn’t mean that GW2 would see the same. Games are not all created the same. Not all games have the development team size to do it either.
  9. This was on reddit and I didn’t see it posted here. It may or may not apply to people’s problems. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/7ncr3y/regarding_amd_and_the_lack_of_directx_9_support_a/
  10. I kind of wish there was a way to watch those saying “it’s like playing a raid” or that it’s “too difficult” play the content. It’d make it easier to point out what they’re doing wrong and give advice on what to do to improve their situation.
  11. Pretty much every LS boss as had people making claims that they’re too tough. Only the Caudecus has its challenges with the CC spam until they tweaked it. As for Scruffy 2.0, I don’t find it challenging at all. If someone intends to just stand in one place and facetabk it, sure it will be difficult. None of the attacks are over the top that an average player can avoid. The fight is more tedious (annoying) with having to get the power cores than anything.
  12. No I say the opposite, a player that plays anything other than 100 won't find groups for 100 and a player that doesn't play 100 cm will never find a group for 100 cm. That you completed levels 1-99 means nothing for 100, and that you completed 100 doesn't mean anything for 100 cm. In a very similar way, your experience in an easy mode Raid proves nothing about your ability in the normal version, even worse it means that you know the wrong things about it. Also, similar how someone beating Escort means nothing about their skill on Matthias. Plus why asking for kill proofs of previous bosses to run the new Wing is absolutely stupid. I think the kill proofs are more of an indication of your skill level at beating bosses of raid quality in coordinated group. Never mind that you can still get carried or purchase kills.
  13. @Lonami.2987 I did read it. Note the last thing I stated where I said that I don’t think all those that want an easy mode would be happy with it if they couldn’t get the existing rewards. Fractals are different as they were not designed to be challenging 10-player content. That is the sole purpose of raids which is to fill that void.
  14. Double negative? xD "None of the rewards should not be made available." Personally I dont think raids need an easy mode, but I can see why people envy the high quality designed encounters over a longer stretch than a single fractal. I kinda would love to see content that is like raids, with intermediate difficulty whilst in a completely different zone/area of the world. Fractals are the right difficulty lvl (I guess tier 3 ish) but they feel very constrained. Raids might not be considered overly story focussed (subjective really) but it is there and the topics and areas they do cover are important to many players. So a dungeons 2.0 as some "organised" 10 man content that isnt raidlike would definitely fill a gap imo. Especially as something half organized for non raid guilds. Oops. I meant that none of the existing rewards should be made available. I’ll fix it.
  15. If there’s an easy mode then none of the rewards that are available right now should be made made available to those playing on easy. The same goes for achievement and collection progression. Would you be fine with that? Chances are a lot of other players wouldn’t. It seems with every new raid wing release, we get 3-4 threads daily about easier raids. All the threads are pretty much identical and cover what’s already been talked to death, reawakened, and talk to death some more. Raids were designed solely to be challenging content for 10-man groups. The entire game does not need to cater everything to players that want faceroll content. If players want to do raids then they can join a training group to learn it, or create a group for it like everyone else did. Edit: Fixed a double negative statement
  16. You need to complete the lane’s meta events. Eventually an event to escort the NPC starts at the WP. After the escort event completes, the event you want starts. Bring CC.
  17. Should be as people had it crafted within minutes of the episode being released.
  18. Yeah I timed it again from one announcement of the race to next one and it was 23 min. The 15 min may be the interval between when it finishes (event credit) to when you see the announcement.
  19. It was an observation based on chat logs from when it ended until I saw the announcement on screen to head to the starting area.
  20. The one in lab is 20 min after it finished so perhaps the others are the same?
  21. I want greatsword and for its elite spec to be DPS focused.
  22. Best way to farm them is by doing a couple cycles farming Elon. You do the gravedigger event where you defend the three graves from awakened, do the dead house event, kill everything in the jackal section, repeat when events are available again. If they get scaled up then even better as you'll get more mobs.
  23. because he has it and he isn't sharing with me i wish i could afford the mount lol i have 1 gold left and am still trying to gather resources for ascended light armor Yah but u can't do half of the challenges or even get to some areas without it. So it's not just a convenience/vanity item.Yes, you can't do the adventures designed specifically for the griffon but there is no area that you cannot reach without it.
