  1. Guess you are only lucky to not have lost any progression and that you are only "missing" a skin, which has no effect on actual gameplay and gives other players no advantage over yourself. The skin and the booster are a form of compensation on what people lost and can't get back, if you did not log in, you did not lost any of your already made progress, so there is nothing to be compensated.
  2. Given the fact that it apparently wasn't a human-made mistake and that they got to restore accounts to their progress and are working to solve missing stuff after the recovered point, I don't think players deserve a compensation. Sh*t happens, they did what they were supposed to do, fix it. Besides, they are still considering ways to compensate for the down time. No need to demand for anything else.
  3. I could swear that was an option for it already, could'nt find it though, but have you tried to change the jump keybind?
  4. HoT is hard, although not as hard as it once was as some have said, specially because it was indeed a leap in difficulty from previous content. But I think is one of the best concept Anet came up with lore wise. The maps are a complete mess as they were supposed to be, there are strong enemies coming from everywhere at all times, which gives a feeling of neverending disorder, chaos and a bit of a challenge, as you would expect from going into a territory that is literally a living elder dragon. Said that, I can see as it can be overwhelming for new players who are not familiar with their classes and game mechanics and I acknowledge the game doesn't do much to help you with it. My advice is get someone to join you and/or get better equip and get more familiarized with your class and its mechanics. Also, try not to go for pre-made builds, specially if they are glass canons, try to mix and match with your specializations for a confortable point of damage and survivability.
  5. I'm too a casual player with very little time to put into the game, so it took me a while to get skyscale. One piece of advice I have to give you as a casual is: dont rush into thing, take your time and try to enjoy the process, since you can't get it right away, at least make it a fun trip to grind the collection. The mount is totally worth it, haven't used any other mount since I got it.
  6. The raptor is almost a free gift to introduce players into mounts, each one of the others will get slightly harder and demanding to get.Well, it all depends on how and why you play the game. Skyscale collection was a delicate subject cause it was heavily timegated whenn it launched, but then the devs nerfed the timegate so it was quicker for you to get it. Still a lot of people dont bother with it cause they dont want to spend time and resources on a thing they dont think its worth it. I got skyscale before the timegate nerf and it was A ride for me. The whole collection takes you to such different locations both on vanilla GW2 and on expansions and asks you to do group content, specific events, world bosses, mini games with your younger skyscale, etc. What I'm trying to say is, for me what was worth it was the "journey" to get the skyscale, I did it without a guide so I had to put some thinking and waiting and grinding into it and I had so much fun doing it cause afterall, that's why I'm playing GW2, for the good times I have doing stuff. Not to mention that, to me, the skyscale is by far the best mount of all, since I unlocked it, I hardly use another mount. I get that some people do not want to take that journey and rush into stuff, it all takes time and effort that sometimes people don't want/can't afford to spare. But there's no race, you know, I consider myself a casual player, before quarantine i could only play for about 2 hours/day and still I got to enjoy all of that work . As for the experience bar, each expansion (and now the new icebrood saga living world) introduces a new set of masteries (forget about hero points if you are not planning on change specializations). So if you are maxed out on vanilla, when you get to HoT and Living world s3 maps and story, your exp bar will go back to fill for each mastery you unlock. The same will happen with PoF and lw4 and then with the Icebrood Saga. Eventually you'll have maxed them all out of course, but until then, there'll probbaly be new masteries to unlock.
  7. Thank you for communicating and for putting the effort to continue to deliver content to us.Would have gladly waited in case you guys decided to delay the episode as well, but I hope people understand that in the scenario we are living now, the outcome of this pandemic, as to when we will all be able to resume our activities normaly, is just unpredictable to take that risk. And to have the team doing it remotely might just be undoable, since voice acting isn't just record your voice and put it on the game. The immersion and the playthrough will take a hit? Absolutely, but these are hard times and I think we all can just get past over it.
  8. what are you talking about specifically? Group events? Champions? Elites? PvP? instance bosses? try playing a minion necro and you are good to go
  9. Dont know how this could impact negatively on the game and needs to be a "must" from now on, but we do have a lot of ice cave areas in icebrood saga, a lot of deep down in the jungle areas from HoT, a lot of old palace buildings from PoF, dungeons, fractals and even raids with inside building parts... so dont think it really is a RPG lacking feature
  10. any screens of those circles? there are a lot of circle targets types one can have in this game
  11. I assume that you are asking for a "better game" egine and mechanic-wise, if thats so, it takes way greater effort to mess with those things than just designing and creating skins, besides, the gem store seems to be the place where anet is getting their profits, so it must be their priority just for the fact that they need to pay the bills.Anet layed off more than 100 employees last year and since then, people keep coming and going, but their staff has been reduced by A LOT. So yeah, it would be great to just hire a bunch of people to make the game better, but they just cant afford to do it now.The game has some bugs and of course there are some stuff that could be improved since its release, but most of them must be just too hard to fix without messing up other stuff ingame, so they cannot prioritize those, instead they keep trying their best to bring some new things, to fix whats posible and maintain the game at its best within their capabilites.I agree with you about the lack of guild content and the rewards from Raids and FotM, though, they could give some more attention to it, but they must have some other stuff more important to do right now.Strike missions just keep getting harder with each release, please play them before you complain about them. They are not hard at raid level yet, but as an introduction to raids, they are doing a pretty good job.Grinding is a part of our lives, not only ingame, but outside of it, almost everyone needs to repeat a specific routine to accomplish stuff. I think that in the MMOs world, GW2 still does a good job of reducing grind when its posible (some collections and achievements, for example), but sometimes it is what it is and there's no way better. Overall, I think GW2 is doing really good, they are keeping a good pace of updates with meaningful story and features content, they are doing a better job communicating with the players, working on the future of the game with the WvW, PvP, festivals updates and the next expansion, they just did a huge balance patch (not saying it was perfect, but you cant say they are not trying). I get that the efforts they are putting into those could be reverted to improve the games engine and mechanics, but again, from a company and selling point of view, it might not compensate right now.
  12. I see what you mean as a brazilian player, but as some said, Anet do not work with real, but in dollar, when they put a product to sell, they expect a revenue in dollar, not in real. Some companies do have the different pricing according to regions, but I think that 30 usd (or 150 reais) is nothing but fair to support such a great company as Anet and a great game as gw2, you see 150 reais spent on simple 3/4 maps + elite specs + mounts, but in reallity there is a whole team and time and work invested on those. As for now, the whole world is going through a very serious crisis, but the 3rd expac is nowhere near to have a launch date yet, so it is a bit early to talk about pricing considering the usd:real ratio.
  13. There are 4 different achievs that you have to do to unlock each s1 story mission. They are all very simple to do, justo go to some spots where those missions took place and get one artifact there. You can findo the achievs under the section of this release, their titles begin with "Visions of the past:...." if I'm not mistaken. Edit: in the Eye of the North corridor that leads to the scrying pool there is a message on wall that gives you a hint on those artifacts, and from what I understood from the last patch notes, now when you interact with the message, it points out those achievs.
  14. I had no problem doing it in the first go with a public group. But I guess that's it, if you don't have a group of people you know to keep trying it and are left to public groups and people don't care about mechanics and do not bother to read, its not a bad game mechanics and encounter desing, its a bad habit of the players. I actually really liked the level of difficulty they toned the entire mission, it was not just a zerk group that goes by killing everything ezpz and it was not impossible if your group knew the basics. Besides, that's part of every game, failing and trying again until you get it done.
  15. I think it would be a nice plot to kill Rytlock and have Ryland taking his place, indicating his growth and independence from the "do as you are told, soldier" kind of setting. But also, it would be nice to have a Charr becoming the Khan-Ur to have them representing something important in the story, for representativeness, and Rytlock would be the more suited for this position. The idea of Bangar facing Jormag and Jormag finishing him off is ok. Maybe they could kill Crecia, but I dont see why they would do that. So Rytlock becomes the Khan-Ur, Ryland becomes Rytlock-ish and Crecia continues to be Crecia.
  16. My guess is that wherever you buy PoF, you'll get the serial key for the game and since last year, any PoF serial key will unlock HoT as well. BUT you can always send an email to the support, they usually dont take that much to answer.
  17. I also don't mind Taimi, people say a lot she brings a more childish feel to the story, but thats because she is a child. And Baham was and still is WAAAAY more childish and spoiled. At least Taimi can go "dark" and depressive like when she talked about her codition.
  18. The thing is in GW1, classes had specific roles and you could mix and match two of them to get a warrior to be able to heal, for example. In GW2, virtually any class can fill any role, so you do not need a secondary class to fill that need, and they made the elite specializations to better fill some roles like druid on ranger being mostly a support specialization. Also, they changed the way to use skill, where in gw1 you had the "regular" skill system in which you have a mana pool and skills only depended on how much mana you have to cast them basically, in GW2 you have utilities skills which are class and elite specialization specifics that are avaiable regardless the weapon you are using, and you have the skills tied to your set of weapons. I see this as one more way to make an identity to the role you wish to play, like staff guardian being more support, while gs guardian being more dps oriented. So you expect skills to have some functionality other than do damage, as ranger longbow skill Hunter's shot that gives you invisibility so you loose aggro and gives your pet swiftness so it can get to the mob faster if its a melee pet, or maybe it triggers another skill from your specializations. So yes, its a different way of presenting skills and I think it works perfectly for gw2, actually since I started playing GW2, I always miss a skill system like this one.As for mounts, yes they added mounts even after they said they wouldn't do so, but they did it in a way thats different from other games, you dont just use mounts to run around as a reskin, but each mount has its peculiarities that makes them more suitable for specific tasks.I think that a change like the one you're suggesting would be a huge change to the game and it is absolutely unnecessary.
  19. I'm not sure where I saw/read this, but someone said that higher lvl players could get the achievs when mentoring low lvl players. Dont know how it works or if it would be only those that you'd fit for achieving, but its something, other than that, dont know if they are really worth it the worry.
  20. There are scrapper open world builds focused on juggernaut and flamethrower. Wooden Potatoes has one on his channel: For fractals/raids, there is a scrapper healer build I wrote down: https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Scrapper_-_Healing_ScrapperFor holosmith in PvE, check snowcrows website. They usually have the most up-to-date DPS builds I don't know enough about WvW to comment. That wooden potatoes build doesn't explain gear?He does explain gear in a separate video to save the time of going through gears in every build video
  21. you can ask for some mesmer or thief to help you get an extra point somewhere else. i'd be glad to help you with it, just mail me ingame (:
  22. The commander never got to ride Aurene when she took that flight, simple as that
