  1. yes they did this intentionally. there was a dev interview once where they specifically said on the arah subject that they had certain enemies patrolling in patterns (arah p3 first mobgroup after the first 2 bosses for example) so you are able to outmaneuver them if you think a bit.or that the boss which you where just talking about is made in such a way, that you are able to skip him, but then you also miss the waypoint at this exact location.or that you can just permastealth through everything if you are able to coordinate it (which is sometimes even tricky due to pathing if you don't know). you may not have realized it, but skipping (without breaking the map) was always a intentional tool in dungeons, be it bosses or mob groups. and i say it again: commented by the one of the devs ages ago. ...its the same with kohler or the event under the stairs in AC or the cave troll which even spawns randomly. or ooze king and queen in cof. its optional content where you descide for yourself if you want to do it. kohler is often done in puggroups on EU for example, because of the waypoint.if a fight is completly walled off so you can't progress, then its a fight which is intended to be done every single time. like lupi.
  2. they take their pride in their record runs and simply provide the builds & comps they came up with to the public.their website was never about making lfg pug runs easier. their guides were never about giving the average joe a ezpz to play cookie cutter build where you need exactly 0 brainpower. it always was about having most optimal comps and builds while challening others to step up their game. the question is: why do you think they should do some random extra work which does not benefit them in any way. its not like you come up with random stuff just like that and never try it out in content and just put in on the website...and its not like they have to do that in any way to please the public, they could shut down the whole thing and let everyone else just stand in the rain like whatever. it costs a lot of gold & time to make new builds and test them against raids...and pug raids are simply not the domain they play in. in the end, everyone has to adapt stuff to their own needs. how you can even come up with such a title is beyond me. why is everyone today such a karen.if you see such people arround, rather school them instead of trying to blame shit on something completly random. damage meters are just another tool and people descide what to do with it. if groups / guilds are not upfront to anyone joining them, id say the mistake is with the players and not with damage meters. having more information is always better then standing in the dark and not knowing what to do or analyzing some videos for hours to come up with something.without a dps meter and raid logs our group would have just kicked people which are bad instead of trying to find out why something is bad and how to fix it....and it worked out way better the second way. ...and honestly, i really don't care about flaming people in pugs. if players are unable to join a static to do content which takes time commitment, thats on them. there are more then enough groups which search for new people which fit into their profile.
  3. condi signet out, sanctuary in, cc bar: melts.that on 2 condi firebrands is already 1500 breakbar damage, add blazing edge & immob from scepter for lets say 5 seconds (cc bar probably won't be up for the whole duration, so lets cut it short) and you are sitting at over 2k already. its more then enough. i rather see a problem that other classes on the damage slot (apart from engi) could have a lot more troubles in breaking ccbars without sacrificing a lot of their damage. raid boss breakbar is kinda overdone for 5 man content...especially when there is no quick / hotbar for consumables. would not have a problem with that if that was the case...or that cc is a lot stronger in pve in general. they give us pulls and knockback which do like 150 breakbar damage and then some boss has a 4k breakbar...like comon.
  4. so your reasoning for all the efficient teambuilds for pve in gw1 is because "dps doesn't matter"? why did people then play teambuilds with stuff like spiteful spirit nec in the deep which deleted hundreds of enemies with just 2 skills in seconds? why did people play rojway, cryway, hundred blades nuke and other shit like this in all the hm speedclears. because damage didn't matter? yikes dude. ofc you don't need a dps meter when you nuke everything with a single skill....gw1 is major different in terms of teambuilding and synergies to the point that you cannot compare both games at all. 181+ skillactivations in a 1 min 30 seconds fight is not something you had in gw1. thats 2 skills per second.
  5. yeah that was my point basically with the reply to the quote. its dumb af to "blame" other gamemodes. we all know how many updates in a year wvw, pvp, raids & fractals get. wvw just has it worst sadly.just this "but hey, a new fractal again" from this dude...like its been nearly 2 years since the last fractal release, so kinda had to meme it. as a raider / fractal player i can understand wvw players pretty good. the release schedule is basically a drop of water on a hot stone once in a while. hopefully you get your stuff soon.
  6. first off: do daily adventures in their respective region if you are in trouble of exp. i "grinded" the 2 million exp needed for the new skimmer mastery in less then 30 mins by doing the first 7 or 8 adventures in path of fire. bonus points if you got some free exp booster flying arround...100k+ exp per gold reward in adventures. second: you don't know what grind is. here, i tell you about the BDO mount grind. first off, you need search for t5 horses in the openworld which will take a while. you need 2 females and 1 male, as females can breed only once and males can breed twice.before breeding, you need to get it to level 30, else the chances to get higher tier horse are like in the 1% region...and arround 27% on level 30. straight leveling to 30 can take 47 hours plus of AFK riding in a town for a single horse.now you can breed your horse, if you are lucky, you get 2 t6...if not, do the whole thing again. don't forget you need males and females. now do the whole thing again like a pyramid all the way up to t8. you are looking at arround 750 hours of gameplay already for a single t8 if you aren't lucky and win one in a event or straight up pay to win hundreds of euros so you get one from a box. ...now that you have a t8, that doesn't mean it has all the skills. it took me arround 8 horses to get one with sprint, drift, instant accel and s instant accel without any pay to win involved (basically the fastest way to travel for horses, everything else is borderline trash) and that being said, i was extremly lucky with it. learning s instant accel is in the 0,1% chance somewhere as on level up its not guaranteed at all that your horse even learns a skill. i got a horse with 8 skills or so out of 20. now if you want to have a dream horse, you need certain skills, so if you don't pay to win this, you are looking at even more hours spend and getting a courser without paytowin is nearly impossible. upgrading that courser then to t9 literally takes millions of silver. i think a single try with a 1% chance at the start is somewhere in the 500.000.000 silver. depending on your gear you are either farming 30.000.000 to 80.000.000 silver per hour. usually people try for a awakend courser for 20 tp 40 trys till it pops. sure, you can buy one at the marked for 12.000.000.000. have fun straigh up farming at the grindspot of your choice for 150-250 hours straight. thats without being contestet and killed by other players which also want to farm there.btw, the quality in horses are insane. you ride with a bad t5 from on side of the map to the other in like 1 hour or so. with a t8 with the mentioned skills it takes like 15 to 20 mins. with a really fast awakend you are even faster. so don't even remotly take the word grind again in your mouth in the gw2 context. you get 2 millions exp in less then 30 mins. deal with it.
  7. I‘d even say it is part of the continent, similiar to Antarctica, but instead of ice we have jade.I wonder how deep the jadefication is, if it reaches the tectonic plates of Tyria or not. If it doesn‘t, I‘d say the frozen Jade Sea would be more similiar to an ice shelf (and therefore not part of the continent). We could name the frozen part the Jade Shelf, while, the thawed part remains the Jade Sea. the jade sea is basically a big ass frozen lake on the landmass. something like the caspian sea...its not an ocean surrounding cantha, its on cantha.check the link thehipone.6812 posted.
  8. the only real question on this topic is: why should a lot of people take a drawback by not being able to use a helpful tool (especially dps.report) anymore, when you can deal with the few which are jerks, by kicking and blocking them? ...you don't ban kitchen knives because of household stabbings because you still want to be able to cut your veggies. we can deal with jerks just fine within the game. if you can't deal with a jerk or are highly offended by someone criticising what you are doing in a team game because he can see your performance, that is really not our problem. deal with it yourself without trying to make the situation worse for a whole lot of others. thanks.
  9. purple fractal weapons! i remember someone making a concept art out of it with recolored weapons...guess now we get em.
  10. yeah pretty weird. i don't know anyone playing wvw or pvp, do those modes even exist? always though its just some lore for roleplayers.
  11. i've cleared a vale guardian once in a complete new random group i joined via the lfg.i was playing healscourge and had total count of 62 rezzes. in the end we were 4 ppl alive and 42 seconds into enrage. the group had a scrapper tank running all over the place, a single chrono with arround 15% quickness uptime, a druid, 3 condi necros with like 4k dps...and the rest were just random "dps". basically 1 dps and me knowing the stuff, the rest were first timers. basically no boons at all. so yeah, you can clear certain bosses, but definitly not all. needless to say: the rest of w1 is not clearable with such a group. gorseval and sabetha will rip you a new one if you try memeing arround like this. you do not need meta builds / compostition to clear something, but having your bases covered makes it easier. stacking might is not hard...a lax group which do not care about efficency probably does not care if the druid is stacking, a elementalist, a warrior or a scrapper. but its highly advised that someone is doing the job at least.
  12. can't really just set a number like this. the "problem" is, depending on the strategy you run, boss phases / split phases take longer or shorter and depending on that the numbers already change a lot for the whole encounter.example: a valeguardian run with mid strat tanking phases a lot faster then a run wich tanks at the edge of the arena. on edge strat vg always needs to run to the tank and on phase he runs back into the middle. takes quite some time. even in the splitphase you can loose or win time on splitting or pulling together the adds depending on your group performance. so, alone from that you can take away that a group which does midstrat can be lacking quite some more damage. on the other hand, it is more dangerous if done with less damage, as you might need to entangle the seekers more then a single time with less damage...a group which can't handle that will wipe a lot faster in this regard since there is less room to make mistakes.that also applys to all bosses. less damage means more mechanics, means more potential to fail. ofc that also can be offset with taking certain roles into your group to handle mechanics more efficiently...or handle group failes with more ease and group recovery. ...you can just set a certain number for you on the golem (for example, 85% of the bench) or check the logs after a raid and see if you did "everything right" on your part. most of time you have to include the context of the fight. ofc you can say something like, okay vg has 22 million health and a enrage timer of 8 min so you need at least 45,8k group dps or 4,5k personal dps....but in the end that does not include split phases, running arround like mad becaues no damage and all the mechanics have to be handled else you die fast. if you want a little tipp: at least practice you opening rotation like mad. imagine you are at samarog and you can reset your rotation to always doing your perfect opening after a cc bar on a power class. you would be golden in terms of dps without knowing the rest of the "45 steps" you have to do on the golem. ofc thats not the case on all bosses, but often a good opener is already half the boss....especially in fractals that is totally true. i mean you can check some of the speedruns. on the first boss of 100 cm people often get 2 to 5 skills out and then the boss phases already. thats what boons and a fast breakbar often do in fractals and people misjudge so hard. there are videos where rangers literally press axe 4 + 5 and then the boss phases already....thats not a hard thing to do in the end. the setup for that is whats "hard". players not instantly breaking for example for whatever reason. so, when it comes to setting a benchmark for yourself when training this is something i would advice to someone who wants to be more lax: try to reach the first number close. a bad opening translates automatically to bad dps. always, just how it works. your opening rotation / burst rotation is important.just train it over and over again until this works out with no problems. its not that hard to train, as you can just get a golem and reset your skills after each opening. at some point check how good it is with a freshly spawned one. if its bad, try to find out why. most often the reason is: too slow.for the end number, take away 1k to 2k for stat infusions if you do not have them. then try to just set yourself a goal. lets say you train power banner warrior with 33k. set it just to 27k and see if you can hit that number. if you can and the rotation seems fine for you go and enjoy some content....then before you do content again with your guild just train half an hour before that and see if you can reach that 27k again or maybe even progress on it.the most important thing in the end is then translation from golem to the encounter. firstly: not needing to think about your rotation and secondly: where does it make sense to interrupt the rotation and start it from new to hit that burst. be it because of some splitphase or because you are out of rotation and kind of need to "reset it" so you can get back into it.with time the whole thing will just come naturally. you shouldn't ask yourself: whats enough dps for laidback stuff. just see how far you want to go yourself and if your teammates are the ones which you really want to play with. if all are on the same page, thats the best in the end.
  13. The Celebratory Birthday Enrichment a player gets from the 8th birthday is completly bugged out on bigger characters. It clips inside the body, not being visible like many other auras (for example legendary auras). This is a ongoing issue for years and is one of the reasons why many players prefer skinny human characters with not too thick armorskins, since those eat away effects. It would be really nice of something could be done about this. I haven't seen the aura from Ethernity on my charr for ages, now i can't even see my 8th birthday present because it gets eaten by the body since it doesn't scale well. Thanks for reading & hopefully doing something against it.
  14. i absolutly dictate who comes into my party and who doesn't when i open and organize said party...and it dosn't matter if its dungeons, openworld, raids or whatever content. i am not going to play with everyone and their mom if i do not want to and i will absolutly enforce the rules i put up. one of my rules for example is to never play with blocked people. sucks for them but i don't give a shit. they will be kicked on sight.what are you going to do? report me to anet? try to change it?...go ahead and try it, silly person. ...content in this game is not restricted for anyone, and if there are restrictions (level restrictions for pvp for example), then its there for a reason.group rules =/= player restriction.
  15. its the minority. most people in the game are fine. openworld, dungeons, fractals, speedrunning, selling content, playing with casuals, with hardcore players, with pugs, withwhatever since years. only problems with a minority of players.forum warriors like @Blood Red Arachnid.2493 have their own problems and, whyever the reason for that, use forums as a ventile for that, trying to get even more fuel into the fire.its the minority where you often have to judge case by case. the majority is definitly not like this and pretty understanding. everything good since years never finds their way into the forums, just people which need to vent. just don't waste your time on people which just shit on you anyway. give them something to bite / bait on so they have something to do with their time and then ignore them. perceived toxicity is basically in the same category as those genderstudy whatever dudes from the us. not even 1% but pretty loud on media.for every dude who said i am toxic, i have at least 10 others which think otherwise. so in the end: i can live with that one dude...hopefully hes mad like shit. :)
