  1. I used them in the Mad King Labyrinth so I'd not have to renew my food and utility while farming, but I found out that they are not working like they should. Even though I have the effects of the primers up (showing me the remaining duration), my food and utility buffs are gone every time I log off, which is quite annoying since the whole purpose is to not have to use another food/utility for 12 hours. As far as I noticed, it's only been happening in the Mad King Labyrinth, but since the labryinth isn't a PvP area, I assume it's a bug. I've always used both of primers for different reasons, but mianly on WvW so I don't have to keep renewing food and utility. The character that I use them for WvW purposes still has the remaining time of the primers, food and utility, even now, after playing it for the last time a few days ago.
  2. what in the mormon jesus name is happening in this forum lately..?
  3. Same issue here. I was on the game, I left for 5 min, I came back and it's not logging in
  4. I was crashing with my guardian and i went on a low level naked character and I didn't crash.
  5. Same issue, I tried using the clean client, without arcdps, still crashes every time i use a skill on MK. Tried on guardian and holo if that matters.
  6. There's always a way to make things worse.. never underestimate that possibility.
  7. What the blogpost about the Wizard's Vault said was actually the opposite: "Those rewards will refresh on a quarterly basis—but fear not! As new items cycle in, any Wizard’s Vault–exclusive rewards will simply move into a legacy section of the vault, where they’ll remain available for the same type of currency indefinitely." (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/new-rewards-in-guild-wars-2-secrets-of-the-obscure/) The dailies are divided by game mode, if you play a specific one you will do them anyway. The PvE dailies are the only ones that sometimes requires you to do things that will be out of your way.. such as jumping puzzles or a mini dungeons.. which each take less than 5 minutes to complete and most of the time there are people at the end of them that let you teleport to friend in case you don't want to go through the hassle. So your rewards should come somewhat naturally, by playing your favorite game mode(s). I guess Anet assumes that people who bought the games will actually play the games they bought? By giving people dailies on yet-undiscovered areas it may actually push you to want to visit them soon because they want people to want to be up to date with the current state of the game. Honestly, you have to do very little of each expansion to get to where they want you to do said dailies. The dailies that are bound to a specific expansion can be completed in the first map of each expansion, only weeklies may require you to go further than that, and they are completely optional since you can get them done without doing every task. Dude, all exclusive rewards will be there waiting for you no matter how long you take to get said amount of AA. Also, the rewards will keep being added every 3 months.. they offer so many options to get huge amounts of AA. There is a healthy amount of time given to players to get their AA to trade for the exclusives.. it's not like it rotates at a weekly basis. That would just lead to the issue that made them change the dailies, which was the fact that new players often come to the forums and reddit to say that they got to level 80 and don't know what to do from that point and on. The dailies direct players to do specific things so they can find things to do that they may like while still getting cool rewards. With the old system people would just get the easiest each day and never try something different/new.
  8. I do know a fairly good amount of players but not any close to 18 million for sure but you took the part I wrote out of the context, which was the fact that there were more ways to know that the event was going on, such as the e-mail when you logged in on week 1, the bonus event tab on the hero panel and the achievements associated with it that were visible since day 1, showing that there would be still week 2 and 3. Not to mention the OP's problem was that HE forgot to do the event and hes blamming Anet for not remembering him to do something that they did tell him about it through the in-game mail how to start and what to look for. I compare it to the festivals because is just like them.. If you miss a single day of festival dailies, you can't get the max rewards of it, like the Mad King's Gift on Halloween, or the Extravagant Wintersday Gift. Just like the current bonus event, if you miss it you won't get everything you could but there is still some stuff you can get. Once the events are over, I can only obtain those in the next year when it happens again. But you don't see people coming to the forums to blame Anet for losing the rewards because they forgot to do their festival dailies. The e-mail that everyone got pointed you where to start and it ends with the following line: "Stop by if you have any questions." If people spoke to the NPC that the e-mail points you to, the following dialogue comes up: "Hello, Commander,. A gang of skritt broke into the vaults and stole supplies from us. Mr. Gnashblade would like to ask you to collect them." Then it follows up with two options: 1) I need more information. (It explains more about what is going on) 2) Where did they go. (It points you to where the skritts were in the current week) The information that people needed is in-game. All people had to do was to read the e-mail and go to the NPC to know more about it. It's funny how people here behave like they needed a carrier pidgeon to deliver information about the event.. it's like there is no wiki, no forum, no reddit, no nothing to find more information about things they didn't understand through the game.
  9. I hope not, almost 6$ USD to slot a scroll would suck kitten
  10. Are we not able to buy copies of the Wizard's Tower Teleportation Scroll? I looked on wiki and on npcs in game and I couldn't find a way to buy a copy of it. Not sure if it's a bug or if it's intended, I wanted to post this on the SoTO subforum but it's closed for new threads.
  11. Lots of things in this game are timegated and events are no different. It's not like it doesn't happen IRL as well. When you logged in on Week 1, you received an e-mail telling you about the event, and the achievements associated were visible so people knew that there would also be Week 2 and 3. Timegated events are part of many game's strategy to bring players to the game while they give something fresh for them to do. If they could be done at any time, why would you log in on week 1 and 2 if you could do it all at once on week 3? It just misses the point of "If you come to play and do X or Y this week you get shinnies". You still get some rewards for doing them late, just like on every other event that is timegated. You won't be able to get everything you missed but there is still something for you if you decide to play it now. Yes, people work and have lives outside Tyria. But this is a game, they can't base everything on this sort of personal issue. Should they also delay halloween because people were decorating their houses and couldn't be here for the event? Or extend wintersday because some players will be with their families at this time of the year? Not to mention that I honestly don't know a single player who logs in and doesn't check the Hero panel every day at least once.
  12. So, am I missing something or you are blaming Anet for you forgetting to do the event?
  13. First of all, the collection that requires the 250g was never meant to be done all once... hence why it's divided in parts that you spend 25g at a time. Now, 25g at a time isn't a lot in the current days.. gold is easy to make, the problem is that people on this game want liquid gold as rewards PLUS everything else that they get, and that is not how this game works. It will toss you a coin or two in specific events like Dragonstorm, but the majority of the gold you will make in this game is by selling your materials. And that is where the problem lies with players that complain about the cost of things.. they don't sell the things they get and complain that they don't have gold for anything. Even if you do want to hold your materials for who knows what reason, the Wizard's Vault made it even easier to have gold.. if you just do your dailies/weeklies you can get the raw gold that you want for your collection and more.
  14. it only sucks when you are on griffon and not on skyscale.. cause you don't have a skill to move forward to leave it like on the skyscale.. i think they could add a mastery to have something similar so we dont get stuck on the ley line and go back to where we were by mistake lol
  15. It was never meant to be and shouldnt be something that you can easily get. The removal of the WvW/PvP potions was a good decision IMO, so the GoB won't be easy to get with barely any effort.
  16. But it is fine as it is lol.. the current image on the login screen isn't anything that will offend anyone or that would be considered inappropriated. Not to mention, it may seem simple to just add useless things on a screen that people literally see for 5 seconds, but in fact it would take some good amount of development taken to change these "little things" that would also be seen for 5 seconds if they were to even exist? I mean, look at the current state of the game, Silent Surf fractal is still bugged to this day, lots of issues regarding the Wizard's Vault and the new dailies, they just brought late achievements because clearly they are working with less people than they should have.. it just seems really out of place to even bother to bring this sort of complaint to the forum.
  17. Y'all see the login screen for 5 seconds before playing, is it enough to complain about? I don't see why this would even matter.. Jesus.
  18. Today's dailies for me didn't have anything to do with Cantha 😛But on a serious note, it would be hard for them to make dailies that would filter specific combinations of contents that people had not played yet, specially because people don't have to buy everything to keep playing. They would have to have a lot of dailies for all LWS and expansions combinations.. not to mention they would have to create "checkpoints" to make it work. Too much trouble when the ideal is that people buy all LWS/expansions and play them asap.
  19. A lot of things have changed over the last 11 years for sure.. as they should. A lot of people would have stopped playing the game if it was still just like in 2012.. no level grind, no gear grind, no high end content, no challenging content. New players won't know how it was back then but people who played the game since it's release knows it wouldn't be good for the game's longevity if they kept it like that. How would they keep GW2 relevant if nothing new and exciting would come? Changing things don't always bring the best results though.. during all these years there were a lot of hits and misses from Anet's side, but it's still impressive how they always try to acomodate most peoples gamestyle. There's something for every kind of player to do.. what I think that people forget is that they aren't going to like everything that is released, and it's not expected that they do. The Wizard's Vault was a very shaky change to everyone. People liked their freedom of choosing which dailies they wanted to do, but it would usually be the same ones, that were fast to complete so they could go back to doing whatever they like to do. In that perspective, you would hardly ever go somewhere different than the usual, or do things that you never really got into because you were busy with the same old every day. Now that the dailies choices were narrowed down, you will get to do things that you may or may not have done before, and thi is good, specially new players, that get rushed through and miss out on a lot of cool things that the game has to offer. Also, with the current system, you find more players doing your kind of daily and there are usually people to help others doing them. That wouldn't happen so often with the old system.. because people would choose their fastest solo daily. It may be inconvenient for some people but it will help the game to keep going with the new players. The Wizard's Vault also brought old players to the yard.. like me! and some of my friends that only bothered to play the newest content because we already did too much of everything over the years. I'm a veteran player, and I stopped doing dailies when I reached the 15k achievement points cap... mainly because since I would get no points, it wouldn't be worth for me to do dailies just for 2 gold a day. Now I have other reasons to do them again, replay old contents, do things with old friends or other players like me, that didn't bother with dailies anymore. Every time you make a choice to change something, someone or a group of people will be more affected than others.. the old system prioritized freedom of choice and it went against the community sense, while most things on GW2 are all about community. The new system promotes community sense while it goes against the freedom of choice. I guess there isn't a common ground here to satisfy everyone.. so they had to pick.
  20. GW2 is an action MMORPG.. so having players to sit and do nothing or stare at the fishing happening without any action kinda goes against their core selling point ? The wiki articles are actually funded by Anet, they pay players in gold to write them in detail so everyone has an universal place to search for information. Check this out: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/24636-about-the-on-wiki-of-gold-project/#comment-24635 . Having a common place to find information is actually good for the players, so they don't have to search on the internet something they want to know about the game that may or may not come from trustworthy sources. Btw, GW2's Wiki is actually pretty awesome, it has so many dedicated writers that put a lot of useful info that may be of your interest on different topics. Now, back to the topic, the information you needed to know about why your fishing experience sucked was right on your face all this time. All you had to do was to move your mouse over the colored icons around the fishing bar, not to mention that the color changes depending on your fishing power. It's intuitive (for most people) to check things that changes colors/numbers.
  21. I had my skyscale prior to SoTO and got my egg, but it took me something in between 15 to 20 nests to find.. i lost count :s
  22. I think they should but I also think that no matter what they may say, they will face a huge uproar from upset players, simply because SoTO's release was very underwhelming. The amount of bugs that were critical (such as skyscale not working, bugged metas blocking progress on story, a bunch of relics not working, etc. ) left a bad taste in our mouths in my opinion, and the bad taste still lingers. Not to mention that they consider the vague blog posts the same as "more communication" .. so in their eyes they might have been "communicating more". I think that they should really think better about the 7 C's of how to do communication properly before they decide to release another blog post. The 7 C's stand for clear, correct, complete, concrete, concise, considerate and courteous. What we usually get is usually prolix, verbose, unclear, incomplete posts.
  23. Yea, there is: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us and click on submit a ticket. I asked them to get mine back, I just got it and I was able to finish the collection. Remember to tell them what happened and the name of the item you are missing.
  24. Even if it there's a way to get it back from support..it's still kitten. It shouldn't be an item that people can sell as junk on a merchant by mistake in the first place =.= I hope they fix it this week. I tried to redo the event just now and the dwarven relic that I got wasn't the one that the npc requires.. so yea, i'll try my luck asking for it on support, thanks anyway for the people who replied!
  25. I've purchased, I've played it, I'm sad about it and worse, I feel cheated. They should have been more transparent when they announced SoTO, not calling it an expansion when it's actually made and released like a Living Season. All they had to say was: "Hey guys, the free LWS model is over, from now on you will have to pay to play the new episodes", and that would have been enough. People wouldn't have expectations of a better kind of content because that's what people expect from expansions and not LWS. By calling SoTO an expansion and pricing it as one, people had big expectations that it would be worth their money. What Anet did was to call SoTO an expansion, price it as expansion, but create new content and release it just like any existing LWS.
