Alliances and battle guild roster management
Babytater.6803 replied to Chaba.5410's topic in World vs. World
Didn't Raymond mention that time spent in WvW per player was also taken into account when matchmaking alliances? Not just pure number of players. -
Let's show our boy some support!!!!!

Bunch of cry babies in here XD

15 years of [Hate] (Vids) WvW
Babytater.6803 replied to Sir Bully Foot.9078's topic in Community Creations
Congrats Hate! That's awesome, what a huge achievement. Fought you guys over the years as FoC, OTBH, MAS, reck, aW. Always a joy to fight you guys. -
The solution is simple. Move to a lower tiered server or just a server with less population in your timezone.

Poll: Is WvW More Enjoyable After The Patch?

Please remove the stomp from the mount....
Babytater.6803 replied to Vova.2640's topic in World vs. World
Mounts are fine for transport but the mount stomp is just cheesy and doesn't support skilled gameplay at all. Just annoying for literally any roamers, havoc, zerg, or blob. -
@DeWolfe.2174 I tend to disagree with you that people should get back to the fight faster. Allowing for some time to come back to the fight allows for smaller groups to take on larger groups without having to worry about the people they killed just immediately getting back into the fight. Downstate also allows organized groups to keep their players alive, punishes unorganized groups and adds a unique and interesting mechanic into the game.

Poll: Is WvW More Enjoyable After The Patch?
Babytater.6803 replied to duillyn.2697's topic in World vs. World
I've been having so much fun theory crafting and trying new builds out. It's really a ton of fun to run with the guildies on a new comp. The reduced power spike damage is graciously welcomed by everyone in my guild and allows for more coordinated and skilled play. Overall, great patch. -
Mounts hurt roaming by encouraging teaming up on people by easily catching up to them and out speeding them. Then like someone else said, it hurts the timing and life of zerg fights. Not only are the mount stomps stupid but they allow people who die to get back 2x as fast as before. This just doesn't benefit fights in the BL's

SO, any news about the alliance update?
Babytater.6803 replied to xXMapcoXx.9614's topic in World vs. World
Yep, never going to happen. It probably wouldn't have fixed anything anyways -
Ballance patch made this game boring
Babytater.6803 replied to Sansar.1302's topic in World vs. World
This balance patch is amazing. Everyone just has to adapt to the changes in builds, comp, and playstyle. It's so much fun running with your guild right now and figuring things out. -
Lots of pessimists in here... This patch is healthy for wvw. We need some variation.
-
This is such a silly discussion. Retaliation will never kill you if you have proper support. Sounds like people are just salty for losing HP because they hit a thousand targets. It's an interesting boon for sure though.

I definitely think we will not go back to a pirateship meta and instead move back towards melee balls again. We will see in 5 days though! Exciting :)

Reaching the Potential of Guild Wars 2 World vs World Part 2
Babytater.6803 replied to awaken.2134's topic in World vs. World
Wonderful ideas for the WvW staff to consider if they already haven't! Great ideas Awaken -
@God.2708 You are right that Anet's goal isn't to shake up the meta but instead to bring everything back in line. However, as a side effect, this patch is going to shake things up. My general idea of a part and its support and damage will remain the same but my question is more in line with each classes role. The nerfs across the board will challenge the main meta classes in their respective roles and I think we will see roles taken by different classes. Who knows though!Zerg playstyle as you said will be pretty different. I really expect a lot of new classes/roles being tried out and affecting how zergs move, use boons, use conditions, use fields/auras, and time their skills out. It's an exciting time!
-
Thank you all for your responses! Even the memes lol Interesting ideas... seems like you guys don't think the meta will be shaken very much with all the power nerfs.
-
Q: With the largest balance patch ever coming out the next few weeks, I wanted to see what the WvW forum community had to think about the meta. Do you think it will change significantly? If so, how do you see zerg composition/classes changing? Thank you for your thoughts and have a great day!
-
They've literally had it done for months and months but don't want to release it because they are afraid of the communities response....

I understand where the OP is coming from but as a roamer/member of an organized fight guild I tend to disagree with most of what is being said here. MI is extremely strong but is really only keeping up to speed with the rest of the inflated skills. So like someone else said, maybe with the large balance/nerf patch coming up, it would be okay to tune down MI.My #1 concern is that they remove the Warclaw's ability to finish downs instantly. This really ruins the effects of even having a down state and makes for really boring gameplay. I'd only be okay if they remove the Warclaw stomp to nerf MI back down.
-
@Sleepwalker.1398Warclaw should be a purely movement based mount. Being able to insta down players with the mount makes for bad game play. Instead of being able to revive your teammates and turn the tides of a battle, a mount waiting on the side can come in and just double down players as soon as they go down. That is cheap and not fun gameplay. Sure it is fun to do for smaller groups but it makes for worse gameplay from solo roaming to zerg play.
