  1. It was certainly overperforming, as were a dozen other specs. Not to mention that the golem damage doesn't account for actual damage in encounter; GS Eternity Requiem boosts damage on bigger hitboxes. As long as they nerf everything down to 40-41k it will be in roughly the same place it was before, just not as overtuned Yall can confused vote this, but it's literally the reason for the nerf
  2. Sure, 55% of people want change, but they don't agree and in fact have polar opposite views of what should be done to "change" the class. If you go to a Cooldown Only Rev, you only satisfy 30% of players polled, leaving 70% unsatisfied If you go to an Energy Only Rev, you only satisfy 25% of the players polled, leaving 75% unsatisfied If it's kept as is, you satisfy 44% of players, leaving 56% of players unsatisfied Sure, the "change vs. no change" argument is in favor of change, but because the "change" group is not unified in their decision and have contradictory opinions (which is exactly what Arazoth said) the group that wants the status quo IS the majority. The clear answer here is to leave as many players satisfied as possible, meaning that the status quo option here is best. Misrepresenting the statistics to support your PoV does no one any favors and leads to bad changes that will end up leaving 70+% of players polled unsatisfied (this is CLEARLY shown by the statistics listed above). It's in Anet's best interest to leave as many players satisfied as possible
  3. I don't even think Guard is better at Stab anymore. Rev has been the main contender for "best stab" outside of Guard for a long time just due to Jalis Road, but with Ventari you can literally just spam Stab constantly now with the Elite, it's nuts. If for some reason HealHerald needs even more Stab you can go Jalis/Ventari and you can have perma uptime on Stab no problem while still having nearly all of your access to healing and most everything else, too. The only thing Guard really has at this point is better Aegis like you said and access to reflects. Scepter is going to make Aegis even more irrelevant in a lot of ways though since Barrier is just better in many contexts
  4. he's probably testing on the golem with no boons lmao. The self-might from mace blasts in a vacuum might make up for some of the damage in that case, but ofc this isn't realistic in any scenario, not even pvp
  5. Not sure why you need to secure either of those off of Shackling Wave when you can secure Deathstrike, Chilling Isolation, or a Utility skill
  6. Support Rev is absolutely viable in PvE and it is played occasionally. The new changes to shield, etc. have also made it much better. It's just being slept on. The general public is still choosing things like HB due to PoF habit, not due to performance Also Scepter (at least in PvE) is going to be a beast and will be better than Karkosa-Mace (even before the upcoming nerfs). The amount of barrier that Scepter puts out (even on a raw full berserker dps build) is absolutely bonkers. Barrier is nearly always better than raw healing too (which heal rev has never struggled with); Karkosa-Mace even in its current iteration doesn't stand a chance
  7. Absolutely agree with this. If they want the Legendaries to give VFX they need to make it specific to this skill and still have the width
  8. As a pure healer weapon it's great. The barrier output is fantastic. As a hybrid damage weapon it's horrible. In berserker gear it's far behind both S/S and GS (it shouldn't beat either of them, but it's VERY far behind them currently). For as energy consuming as the Otherworldly Bond tether is, and for as punishing as it is to drop 6 stacks of the tether by accident, it definitely needs to have slightly higher damage modifiers. I would boost the damage modifier "bonus output mechanic" on both #2 and #3 and slightly increase the auto attack dps on strikes #1 and #2. Again, does not need to beat S/S or GS, but it shouldn't be super far behind either, otherwise this will only see use on heal builds and that's it.
  9. Regardless, it feels almost deliberate at this point considering we're still missing 5+ Core Utilities compared to every other profession in the game as well
  10. I disagree that it needs to be deleted, just that it needs to be replaced with something far more worthwhile. So in a sense, yes, delete energy meld, but give us something better in its place. If the new effects are strong enough to make it more worthwhile then that's at least a start, but yes, they shouldn't have kittened with Song of Arboreum at all. It's ridiculous they did

  12. This is actually the 3rd draft and it’s taken them 1.5 years to get to this point. The 4th and 5th drafts later which will refine it further will similarly take months if not years of time. The concept is okay, but gutting our vigor access (which is required to make the spec flow well/do its high tier damage) to make Energy Meld better is absurd and the fixes to the problems this creates will take bare minimum 3 months to come, but most likely 6-9 months or even much longer. This is the core problem with these changes
  13. Glint more likely to be Burn and Boons (or chill) with Kalla more likely to be Bleed Resolution, but that’s just based on Trident and Song of the Mists
  14. The DPS is factually considerably higher than PowerRen and one of the highest in the game at the moment
  15. Rev gets the least amount of skills added with this round of weapons, they absolutely should have added Focus as well🙃 And still missing 5-7 utilities to match every other core class omegalul
  16. It's always useful in the sense that it's ALWAYS accessible by every DPS rev build if needed. The new trait is NOT always accessible and therefore is less useful the better the player/group is Sure, those are DPS legends, not weapon sets, but it's disingenuous to suggest that CC just doesn't exist in the kit simply because the weapons for Power Revs don't have them. Every class does not use CC in its rotation unless it's a DPS increase, obviously, but all Power variants do have access to CC and can therefore proc Contained Temper if needed. Again, irrelevant for Organized PvE (but again, so is the new trait, it's just as niche), but absolutely useful for non Organized PvE environments It's not just "some random build" it's literally the premier Condi build for Rev; it's worth the consideration for this alone Didn't say no one gets stunned in competitive, just that the higher the skill of the player = less incoming stuns = less use of the trait, fullstop. Also Minor Traits should not be tailored specifically to Competitive. They should strive to be useful in all situations on all builds instead of being reactive (i.e. something bad has to happen to you for it to be useful). Traits designed around "bad thing happens = I get benefit" as a minor trait are less useful the higher skill of the player. This is all I'm saying. Bad for any class to have these types of traits in Minor slots. Resolve is already taken as a choice by Revs who don't feel they need the extra cleanse, so it certainly would have been fine to add it on there. The idea that "competitive revs must take Cleansing Channel because Rev has bad access to cleanse and therefore we shouldn't have any sort of choice within that tier of traits" is a bit ridiculous. Reducing Rev's access to Fury in competitive also doesn't improve its ability to perform at a higher level. And a little bit of extra energy on stunbreak also won't solve that issue, not even close
  17. One million times always this. Been saying this since they changed it *sigh*
  18. Contained Temper is irrelevant for Organized PvE, but so is the new trait. Ideally a group will not only have Fury but also supports providing Stability/Aegis and even in some cases group stunbreaks. Also every DPS set does have the ability to proc it as you mentioned. Glint, Kalla, and Alliance all have easy ways to proc it with only Kalla’s being particularly expensive (but you also get 3 procs from it). In the case of being stunned without Stability, DPS players using Charged Mists (cRen) now have to be skilled enough to use their breakstun and then manage to empty their energy bar again before legend swapping in order to not kitten up their rotation. This wasn’t the case before and now adds an extra layer of complexity to an already not beginner friendly build The main area where Contained Temper was useful is in solo PvE play and in competitive modes where it allows for additional fury upkeep and might generation, which is lacking outside of Herald (scavengers burst spam leads to burst->dodge->burst->dodge ad infinitum gameplay which is suboptimal). This is fairly significant in those sections of gameplay. The new trait only provides benefit when a user messes up; the issue is users can’t opt out of this new trait if they think their skill level is high enough to not make good use of it. As someone who does feel their skill level is high enough to not warrant needing more energy on stunbreak, but does actively and intentionally use Contained Temper for more fury and might when solo PvE/roaming, this is a pretty direct nerf to my builds. Also Absurd reasoning if true that Anet did not add it to Glaring Resolve because they don’t want it to compete with the other two. The goal of each trait should be to provide compelling choices, not lock you into one set choice always in all situations. Glaring Resolve has hardly any reason to be taken outside of competitive (and even then it’s very meh) and adding to it would just help improve it across the board (and it likely still wouldn’t be taken always over cleansing channel since Rev outside of Vindi still sucks at cleansing conditions).
  19. They should have just added the new trait to Glaring Resolve. This is the obvious choice as it would make it a more solid choice against the other two options which it struggles to compete against Instead we now go from having a “meh” but always useful minor trait to having a minor trait that is only ever useful if you misplay. With perfect play and not being CC’d, you get 0 benefit from the new trait while old Contained Temper is always useful even if it is sometimes redundant. Given that this is a minor trait this is a major issue for the traitline; minor traits should always give bonuses that are useful, not bonuses that can be effectively ignored 100% if you never mess up. In PvE especially with perfect play this means you effectively no longer have 1 of 3 minor traits. Contained Temper at least provided something in cases like that even if it wasn’t much
  20. Contained Temper change is bad. Non-Herald revs just lost a major source of long duration fury. Especially bad since you can’t get fury from Firework/Pack runes anymore either. Not a great change
  21. Contained Temper change on Rev is bad and unnecessary. It reduces non-Herald access to Fury, which is not helpful. If this change is necessary consider working it into Glaring Resolve instead and keeping Contained Temper as is
  22. Having never imagined a "Tempest Revenant with Overloads" before that could be insanely cool. Having an Omega Skill with high impact that requires camping a legend for a while could be a really interesting, fun, and unique way to play Rev. Would definitely make a great Elite
  23. I agree with the rest of your post, but you might want to add clarification about which part of PvE you're speaking about. Vindicator currently is tied with Catalyst and Berserker at 43k, making it one of the three highest damaging specs in the game right now. Bladesworn is 40k. Power Rev is certainly not "crap," especially when considering the content it's best at (instanced content)
  24. It only does better than hammer since hammer is woefully undertuned. Has little to do with SB being “fully hybrid” or not. Celestial works better than Marauder on SB simply because SB IS a condi weapon first and foremost and celestial stats are effectively stronger for Condi than Power. Golem test isn’t irrelevant since it shows you how much DPS a weapon can do in a vacuum with different types of stats. Ofc Condi weapons are better for soloing legendaries; has nothing to do with SB being Fully Hybrid or not. Yes, SB works fine in Open World with any stat type. Still doesn’t make it a fully hybrid weapon which is the only thing I was commenting on. Vipers isn’t really a hybrid stat. Sure, it has power and precision but it’s missing ferocity entirely. SB in a vacuum under Vipers is only doing 15-20% of its damage from power, the rest is all Condi. cRen with vipers is doing 10-15% of its total damage from power. Not really a hybrid stat. And this is why SB is NOT a fully hybrid weapon; it’s very clearly meant for full Condi stats it just happens to also perform *okay* in berserker due to *okay,* not good, power scaling. Given than Rev has no other ranged choice that’s better than it, it ends up being the best choice for both power and Condi at range, but that doesn’t make it a “full hybrid weapon.”
  25. Pleaseeee stop spreading this misinformation. It is not a “fully hybrid weapon.” It’s is VERY MUCH first and foremost a Condi Weapon that happens to have “okay” power scaling. This idea that it’s “pure hybrid” and works “equally well on a power build” is completely false. It only works “well on a power build” because there are no other even close to viable options. I’d encourage you to go run tests with “Only Shortbow” on the golem in full berserker gear with power traits and then run tests with Viper/Celestial/etc with Condi traits “Only Shortbow.” You’ll notice the disparity between the builds immediately and realize the truth that it’s a Condi weapon with “okay” power scaling.
