  1. Why are you monetizing this? Why are Build Templates and Equipment Templates not given to to you in equal numbers?
  2. Mostly it has been except once again we have story instance achievements locked behind the entire instance + cutscene if you fail it once you gotta sit through it ALL again. I thought we were past this?
  3. Yes it does. Anyone who says otherwise is blind honestly.
  4. But even the games with a combo of those have cash stores. And the best and/or "shiniest" items are reserved for said stores there too. As usual in today's gaming industry, why just make money when you can make "all" the money. Yeah, you cant avoid the cash shop but at least you can havw a fairer ratio of ingame rewards to paid ones. But "fair" is a totally subjective measurement. Personally I rarely see anything in the gemstore that I'd like to have. Most of it is way too over-the-top for my taste. On the other hand I really liked a lot of the weapon and armor skins they have given in game, and have actively adjusted my gameplay to get some of them. I have bought a couple of gliders from the gemstore (I think three at the latest count), as well as a few outfits as I enjoy the convenience of occasionally changing the look without messing with transmutations and dyes (so I can always fall back to the previous armor skins without hassle), but haven't felt the need to get any non-standard mount skins yet. Looking from my personal point of view, the ratio between ingame and gemstore rewards is near perfect. I don't expect everybody else to share my view, as taste differs from person to person, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were quite a few people around with similar tastes like mine, either. Its not about preference its about how much stuff we get in the gemstore vs in game. Its overwhelmingly tipped towards cash shop, esp in mount apearances, gliders, weapons etc. This is overwhelmingly wrong for weapons. And just wrong for armour. Yeah those skins from 2012 really hold up. The gem store is honestly out of control nowadays and it's only getting worse.
  5. "How they identify"? What? I somehow doubt Elder Dragons care about gender issues. As said previously they are forces of nature, such things that we concern ourselves with aren't even a blip on their radar. Honestly I really don't like this "humanizing" of the Dragons in this game that's been happening for awhile now. They are supposed to be beyond our understanding.
  6. Yep. I was there when GW1 was killed in its prime and the feeling around 2 right now is exactly the same. And they never even finished Guild Wars Beyond or promised class reworks like the Paragon's. Expect a lot of loose ends in Guild Wars 2 when they do the same thing to it.
  7. A lot of people are simply fed up with brainless Open World content and the Gem Store getting all the updates. Other game modes are suffering.
  8. That you get the honor of spending even more real money on because it's a crime to let you earn this stuff doing actual gameplay.
  9. Hardcore GW2 player base is not the same as hardcore MMO crowd. Games like WoW and even BDO is recent times have been way bigger time sinks than GW2. Several GW2 players avoid those games for the endless grind as it's not fun.All I'm saying is that GW2 will not be able to keep the 12hrs a day gamer happy for long. That's why I really like GW2 as being casual friendly. You can be casual friendly still support game modes other than mindless open world and the gem store. Everything but open world in this game is currently being neglected or at least that is the perception and I can't really argue against it.
  10. Honestly? Not very. The stuff they talked about looks cool but nothing on Fractals or PvP or WvW really... kinda concerning. They really could have used the time they wasted pushing merchandise to at least talk a little bit about those aspects of the game. Not everything has to be open world.
  11. That's hubris of the highest order. There is zero harm in taking good ideas from other games to put into your own. You would be foolish not to.
  12. Yes. They are very cool in FFXIV where literally every job, even crafters has an ongoing storyline through quests.
  13. It would look much better if it didn't have the shoulders or the nebula effect over your entire body. Skimpy armor is okay, Anet no need to hide it behind star charts.
  14. I agree. I really hope they raise the cap on decorations.
  15. I'm concerned about the described change to Embrace the Darkness. You really wouldn't take away one of the coolest looking skills in the game in exchange for a boring Dark Field would you?
  16. I couldn't put my marker around the Mark II Golem Boss at all, it was like it hit a wall near him for Renegade Shortbow 4.
  17. Happens nearly every time for me and it's getting real old here as well.
  18. People are dancing around it but the fact of the matter is it's because Anet is obsessed with being "different". A lot of the times it's a good thing but sometimes it's just a head scratcher.
  19. Some rewards should only be available if you put in the effort to do harder content in a game. Exclusive rewards for getting better and overcoming actual challenges are a good thing imo. It seems a lot of this community feels like they are entitled to access to every reward with very little to no effort sometimes.
  20. This is the truth and it's getting worse. Every single time a boss in story for example is a little difficult people come here and whine to the heavens until it's nerfed. I fear this community as a whole just doesn't want to be challenged ever.
  21. So you had to be in Lion's Arch to get it? I donated a ton of Mithril but after an hour+ got sick of standing around... I got nothing. Great event.
  22. Practicality is a non-starter in a game with magic, meteors, giant ancient creatures and weird bugs that consume you from within. I think it's the opposite, we need MORE sexy and revealing armor than we have. Dismissing people who enjoy revealing outfits and armor as "juvenile" is not the way either.
