  1. I still don't get the point here why we are talking about a condi meta, when any condition you apply at once is a boon for your team? It's basically the best that can happen when you get loaded with condis.
  2. Make EBG an underwater map. Put pirate ships in it and make SMC the Atlantis castle that can only be taken in underwater combat!

  4. The big issue with Mag is that they were a decent to good server once. They had some extraordinary players and a lot of good roamers. A lot of tryhards transfered there to get carried. The good players left and now it's a "only toxic talk server" with nothing to back that talk up.
  5. Most server discords I joined over the years are terrible toxic environments with no moderation. This is the worst thing that can happen to new players. Finally getting into voice and being confronted with toxic people. (exceptions to the rule are possible)
  6. Mag got farmed really hard the last two days, but that's what you can expect when your whole server is rangers and other tryhards. And even when they don't sit in a keep they build siege like Yaks Bend did.
  7. I have 8 ascended armor sets, all light, I have no use for them when I make a legendary set. Do I get my stuff refunded, pls? You still have the benefits of your legendary - the skin.
  8. Content getting outdated? That's totally new. Why should you get something for having played the game? You decided to craft two different light armors and you used the benefits of having them for a while now. With the changes you still have both, both skins and can use both.
  9. Because I trusted the friendlist to work correctly. Why would the game choose a completely random account over one in the same guild or on a friendlist? Never happened to me before. I normally do it by "opening guild, right-click name, send mail" but in that case I didn't, because there was a lot of scrolling involved. What I don't get is why the game handles it like it does.
  10. Hi friendos, yesterday I tried to send some stuff to a friend. I have that friend on my ingame friendlist and normally I type the accountname in the mail field, put the items in and send. So I did yesterday. The items never got there, because GW2 in all it's weirdness, used another account name to send the mail to. Example: My friends accountname is example.9756 So I typed example and GW2 added the numbers. What happened is: I sent the mail to example.5753 because GW2 decided I wanted to mail preferably to someone I don't know and don't have on my friendlist (or guild). The question is (the account the mail went to seems to be inactive): Will the mail come back one day or is it stuck at the wrong person forever until her/him/it decides to send it back? What to do?
  11. Defending needs a buff, not a nerf. At the moment it's just "make a blob, ignore the siege because your support heals through anyway, take the structure". If you can't do this, kick the rangers, thieves and other crap out of your group and bring meta classes. What has to be nerfed is "off-hours" ppt trains, not defending vs. them.
  12. Don't remember in which matchup this was, but every morning our whole EB side was tier 3 with zero supplies and the keep lord room was filled with trebuchets. And within the next 20 minutes the enemy zerg started flipping our stuff.
  13. Something most companies that make mmorpg doesn't want to happen. So, when there are achievements or ranks bound to the number of killing people in most cases the company bans for meeting somewhere and farming each other because it's kind of exploiting the kill/rank system. With the same argument there was this incident in the beginning where people met at the wind mill and got told by Anet to stop that (even if it was for "gvg") Later all that went to EotM with karma train and farming karma trains, etc until anet killed the whole thing.

  15. Wait, you really don't think that going from low rank to higher rank and getting +1, +2 pips more every few minutes isn't a big enough thing to even play this event? Not sure where you are coming from, but let's do the math with just going from rank 50 to 200 in this week. For finishing diamond to get the maximum of everything you need ~40 hours per week with lowest rank. For finishing diamond to get the maximum of everything you need ~30 hours per week with your new rank. For finishing diamond to get the maximum of everything you need ~24 hours with +2 pips So you basically have 10 hours less of wvw just for 1 Pip rank? For a normal player that just wants the armor this is a huge thing (and even 16 hours less if you rank up into +2 pip)
  16. That's not criticism here. Remove downstate isn't critism, it's not even close to constructive. You see yourself what is happening with no downstate. Players take breaks or ppt without fighting because you just get gibbed. And Anet won't ever remove the downstate. period. Why should they? What's your solution for removing downstate? Give Elementalists 50% more health? Remove stealth attacks? Rework gyros and all skills from pve to wvw separately? Everything in this game is somehow connected to downstate. If you remove downstate you will have to remove stealth, because Stealth brings the ability to oneshot people without any form of tell. Downstate does keep that in check at least to a certain level. It's way harder to kill someone that has a friend by his side with a downstate. But would deleting stealth solve the main issue? Still no, you would have to nerf burst and utility next, because those are also unbalanced between the professions. So what's the solution to this? There are no simple solution to complex problems in complex systems. And sorry if you dislike downstate, but you choose to play this game, adapt or go because downstate is here to stay.
  17. What you obviously don't get is that WvW is not designed around "fight guilds". The game mode is designed around taking objectives and denying objectives to the opponents. Fighting in and around those objectives is the key to take those. That's why there are siege weapons and all the stuff like camps, towers, etc. And yes, nerfs are necessary, because you want everyone, means more builds, to be viable for the game mode or players just lose interest in it. The actual meta is not less stupid than the GWEN meta was. Still too many fotm builds are just mandatory. Why do you think it was ok to nerf Scourge but Firebrands are fine? Both aren't fine at all, neither is Scrapper. If you build a group these days it's down to: Bring a FB, Scrapper, Herald, Scourge. Every group needs a FB, a Scrapper, a Rev and a Scourge. That's just plain bad balancing and this has to be broken to make the game mode more accessible. And no, the game should never be centered around a minority of players but around a majority. And the majority aren't people that enjoy clashing into each other or being told to kitten off and get on "a useful build", but want to play the class they like. So the game has to change to a meta where as much builds are on (almost) the same level of viability. And the bigger the group gets the more classes should be viable or at least not be a handicap for the group.
  18. First thing you had to do: Root out the "builds" that are mandatory, because they have to much utility. For example: - nerf Firebrand stability options so that's on par with any other supporter. - nerf Scrappers boon output, nerf access to group stealth and superspeed - nerf Scourges boon corruption - buff druids celestial avatar healing to be able to compete with Scrapper - get support Tempest back in the meta - nerf Chrono utility (strips) The goal has to be that Tempest, Druid and maybe Ventari Rev are on a level with FB/Scrapper/Chrono and interchangable with the mentioned classes. The normal thing should be "Hm, we don't have enough Scrappers, but we take a Ventari Rev and a Tempest instead". Same goes for DPS classes. Why do you bring a Herald? AoE-DPS, Stab, Dwarf Elite, Boons. For the same Reason you don't bring a SB instead, because it lacks at least two of the things
  19. Retaliation indeed was a horrible designed skill. Why? It was a passive bound to a lot of skills with low cd. That's per se bad design. Take Guardian for example. You want to heal yourself/group and use ANY healing skill, you applied retaliation. (if skilled into Radiance). There shouldn't be an additional "reward" for healing yourself and your group that makes your group deal a huge amount of passive damage. Good design would be: You see someone casting Meteor Shower and put up a reflect. As in "Someone attacks you, you dodge".
  20. That's called optimized ganking. Basically almost the setup I'd run with my guild in that case. 4 SB, 1 Scrapper would be our setup. Just press "strg+T", delete someone, go Invis, next target, etc. Great gameplay, so much skill, much wow.
  21. I don't know what spiced up means. You can run in a normal week on your dumbed down glass (kek) soulbeast and still succesfully kill everything in your way (or use your endless mobility to avoid getting zerged). No downstate doesn't change that at all.
  22. Can we just sum up all the "down state" threads into a simple "I don't like downstate, because" and get over it? If you don't like downstate, maybe go play another game. Maybe WoW is better for you or any of the upcoming GW2 killer games. What most of you "I don't like downstate - people" don't understand is that the whole game is more or less balanced around having a downstate AND the option to do something in downstate. Anet won't change that because they had to completely restructure the whole pvp system, they had to re-balance all power damage, because it's already easier cleaving downs than stomping them. And the whole no-downstate event shows how dumbed down (scnr) the game is without downstate. Is downstate perfectly balanced? Not at all. There are some classes that have really awful downstate skills, there are some that have better options to finish, to survive, etc, but it's still way better than any ideas to change downstate I read in those 9 years on the forums.
  23. Solution: Make it unblockable and let reflects hit with the same damage modifiers the ranged class uses.
